We really enjoyed the fruit tasting. This exceeded all expectations. I think we probably tasted at least 20 fruit - apple banana, ice cream banana, 3 different kinds of sapote, local mango and coconut, and lots of other incredible fruits of which I forgot the names! The staff was really expert and fun. The entire event was very well organized and delicious. Of the 20 fruit we tasted I've only ever tried two or three of them in my life so it was really wonderful and unique. I highly recommend this activity. Most of the fruit are sweet and tropically yummy. There were a few "interesting" items just for fun including cacao seeds and durian. The staff tells you what to do and then you have fun with your knife and cutting board (they help if you ask but doing it myself was very exciting). Decided to do the ATV tour with Aloha adventure Farms. Booking was very easy online and I love that they stayed in communication with me leading up to my tour date. Day of the tour we were welcomed by and all female crew and they were awesome (girls rock!). Started off with equipment, a safety talk, mini test drive to ensure we can handle things ok. During the 2h tour we got to experience mixed terrain, stop along the way to learn fm our guide who was excellent (drawing a blank on her name). There seriously just wasn't enough time spent on our day trip to Aloha Adventure Farms. I came with our corporate team of 17 for an ATV Adventure Polynesian Tour, and boy did it not skimp out on adventure! Aloha Adventure Farms only has 10 single rider ATVs and for those without one, you'll have to ride in the UTV with one of the tour guides. The ATV Adventure operates rain or shine and lasts for 2 hours. For safety reasons, make sure to wear closed toe shoes. I ended up in the UTV with two other wives, and we had the time of our lives. It started raining during the tour, but thanks to the UTVs covered top, we stayed about 90% dry. If it weren't for the bumpy route, we would have loved to have a thermos of wine in hand with our hunky driver to guide us along the way. We had two tour guides who were not only fit and handsome, but knowledgeable and kept things light and entertaining for our guests. They drove us around the farm, stopping at various points to share fun, interactive, and educational tidbits about different Polynesian islands. One of the highlights was sampling fresh coconut and pineapple--it was so good, we wished we could take some home! If you have extra time, I'd recommend doing the tiki carving class, as this was such a unique experience I wish we had time for! For efficiency, I would suggest completing the waiver prior to your adventure so you can arrive and get going. Bonus: clean restrooms are onsite. We had a great time here! We did both the ATV and fruit tasting tours. The staff was both fun and friendly. It was a beautiful ride up in the hills right above Kona, so it was very close and convenient to get to. The cultural tour on the ATV's was very informative and fun. The fruit tasting tour was also amazing. We also did the carving tour with Mani a few years ago. He is a true craftsman and hilarious to be around as well. You can't mess up any carving that he can't fix! Impress your friends with your tiki (that he can make beautiful despite your futile attempts to carve on your own. read more

We did the ATV tour last week, and it was such a blast! Pono was our guide and he did a great job of educating us on how to properly utilize the ATV's. It was my first time on an ATV, and it was very beginner friendly. I definitely got a little bit of an arm workout! There's also the option to ride in the UTV if you dont feel comfortable on the ATV. You are likely to get a little muddy or dirty so be sure to dress accordingly. There was a lot of cultural learning & activities included in this tour, which was great. Not only do you get to ATV through the tropical landscape, but there was a lot of wild life as well! We saw pheasants and baby pigs on our tour. My cousin Pono is one of the tour guides at Aloha Adventure Farms on Big Island of Hawaii. We did a tour with him for the first time this past summer and we had a blast! You learn so much about the islands and culture. You get to try some freshly shaved coconut and delicious pineapple. It's a 2hr tour on an ATV, and you stop at the different stations where they teach you about Hawaii, Samoa, and Tonga. It's so much fun, we will be doing the tour again with a bigger group next time. Went on the Big Island ATV and had an amazing time! I can honestly say that this was the highlight of our trip. I had never driven an ATV before, but they made the experience smooth, safe, simple, and fun! Even as a beginner, I felt like I was allowed to go as fast or as slow as I wanted to. We rode through the rainforest along rocky dirt pathways, with our two guides leading from the front and trailing at the end in UTVs. They were very caring and charismatic, and always kept us entertained and comfortable! They made the activities along the way enjoyable, engaging, and educational. Just make sure to wear bug spray. We did this tour in November of 2020. The guides were two Tongan men & it was FANTASTIC!! So much so that we decided to do it again on our most recent trip.. Our guides were AJ & Lawrence. They were great but the whole experience did not come close to our first one. I think the reason is twofold: 1. The Tongans are exceptional & 2. This tour should be a once in a lifetime experience. Safety is a priority for this company and they are very good at giving customers LOTS of info! You owe it to yourself to check this out! We think we should not done it this time. Aloha Farms Polynesian Cultural Rainforest ATV Excursion was amazing! The machines we rode on were new and well maintained. they also have a UTV you can ride in for the trip. The guides were so friendly and welcoming. It was fun to stop and hear a little about the cultures. We played a game, husked and ate a coconut, heard stories, and ate pineapple and poi! Riding through the rainforest was amazing the canopy was full of trees with red, orange, pink, and white flowers. There were orchids growing right along the trail. Stunning! Never went on an ATV or an UTV before... First experience and boy oh boy was I ecstatic! Located on the Kona side of Big Island you'll find up toward the mountain this area where there is also a coffee venue and tour as well. For the ATV adventure they do it rain or shine and fortunately weather was pretty good with small kine drizzle rain but it did make it a little more fun! Weather permits only if its thunderstorm or heavy rain. Prior to arriving they do send you a text with direct instructions about an hour to your tour time which was perfect as we used those instructions to find the area. Upon arrival you see your ATV lined up ready for you all cleaned up and ready to go! Welcomed immediately as we arrived we were ready to go with our total tour group of 4 adults, 1 child and 2 tour guides. My child was 5 years old and he was required to ride the UTV. They offered us to have a tour guide to drive him so both me and my boyfriend could drive an ATV which I truly do appreciate but with my son being a Mamas boy I totally didnt mind driving the UTV with him. Still a 4 wheel drive fun adventure! Before starting our adventure they taught everyone the basics of how to work the ATV and UTV. The only thing is you cannot switch between the UTV and ATV because you learn how to drive both only in the beginning prior to the drive. During the adventure you drive through the coffee trees and then into the "jungle" as my son called it and they drive you to each "Island" of Hawaii, Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa. There your tour guides teach you the cultural practices, dances, and history of each island. I love how much in depth our guides got into and that they even had their own personal history into the islands. Lots of interaction and they answered all questions. They also allowed many pictures at every stop, however no active picture taking or use of go pros while driving. Tour was about 2 hours from start to finish which included learning how to drive till when we got back to park. 5 of 5 stars for the experience. But honestly I'd give it more than that for our tour guides MANU and... please dont hate me I forgot our lead tour guide's name ‍ So let's call him BRADDAH. You both are amazing!! We had fun. However, we signed up for an ATV adventure and (a) the ATV part was very tame, (b) the ATV part was not close to the 2 hour trip we took, and (c) the cultural component weighted way too heavily (on an ATV adventure). The guides were great and fun; but it was too much non-ATV activity time. There are four stops. Of 15 minutes or so. I'm not sure you are actually riding an ATV for more than 40 minutes of what is purportedly a 2 hour adventure. But, we did have fun. Just a big part of this isn't what we were looking for. I went with my two best friends on the ATV tour after doing some late night research. I cannot tell you how they exceeded every expectation for us. You get the opportunity to stop in quite a few places and learn about the beautiful cultures of multiple islands. Our tour guides were brothers and were very friendly and funny! They carve everything on the grounds, and built multiple traditional structures across the grounds! There are little games, great pictures, t-shirt accommodations for our more well-fed Ohana out there ;) We had an absolute blast, and I must say, after living on Oahu for 3 years (and taking this one weekend visit to big island), this was one of the best cultural experiences we participated in. I can not begin to express how wonderfully put together this adventure was! From the setting, to the office, to the staff and guides, to the equipment. We went on any ATV/ETV ride and the guides were amazing - funny and informative and most importantly - safe. We did the Polynesian carving tour. They drive you up into their property to a shelter surrounded by taro plants. We were the only ones in our group. There are a lot of insects up there, so bring some bug spray. Mani, a fourth generation carver from Tonga was our guide. You pick out a piece of wood & what traditional design you want to do. Mani draws the design on the wood. He does one half & instructs you on how do to the other half. My husband did quite well with his. Mine was a hot mess.  Not to worry, Mani will help you clean yours up. He was super nice, patient & great to talk story with. He also does the fine detailed carving on the top & makes it look so easy. Initially, I thought the price was a little high for the activity, but where else can you have a hand in carving your own tiki to take home. I can't wait to sand & put a finish on them in a few weeks. read more

My son and I have gone back to back years to Aloha Adventures. Last year we did the wood carving and we have no artistic ability. He was so patient with us. I've been coming to the Big Island for the last 10 years or so, and must say this is by far the best "adventure" I've done on island. My wife and I did the ATV tour for our wedding anniversary and LOVED it - the owners (Leiah and Adam) have done an awesome job! The area itself is around 300 acres of lush forest, coffee orchards, and fruit trees, and is beyond beautiful. Each stop has an activity to do representing the culture of that particular Polynesian island. We got to taste authentic poi, pineapple, coconut, and guava grown on their land (best pineapple ever). What makes the tour amazing, though, are the guides! They were hilarious and fun yet extremely informative and knowledgeable. They are also INCREDIBLY talented woodcarvers - they carved the "tikis" at each stop. We couldn't say enough about them - they did a fantastic job and we look forward to coming back again. They took us through the rainforest and stopped at spots where we learned about different islands and did fun activities like playing a Polynesian game.
