As a celiac who lives in celiac Hell (the USA) I was so happy to experience just how many gluten-free options Finland has to offer. It's not just Finnish food or pastries, it seems like most places cater to gluten-free - including this ramen restaurant!
I was on the Find Me Gluten-free app and noticed that this place had gluten-free karaage (fried chicken) along with ramen so I was sold.
My husband and I walked from the Moomin Museum to the restaurant. It was busy but we ordered in English and were able to find a table for 2 immediately.
I had the gluten-free shio chicken ramen (€16,90) and my husband had the regular tokantsu pork ramen (€15,90.) We shared the karaage (€8,50.)
For the price, I wish the karaage was a bit larger but I really enjoyed the fresh lime squeezed over the top and the dipping sauce.
I enjoyed my ramen but my husband complained that unlike in Japan and the US, rather than multiple thin slices of pork, this was a big, thick piece of what he claimed was pork belly. Without a fork and knife I guess it was awkward to eat? The taste was still good though and came with a jammy egg and seaweed.
Overall it hit the spot for my craving Asian food.
