Visited Hampton Burger while driving through Tampere on a Friday night and we really needed to use a restroom.
I don't know if it's the economy or if 10 PM is considered early in Finland, but the streets were pretty empty despite it still being light outside in May. Luckily my husband and I found this restaurant was still open and they had an all gender restroom for customers.
Only 1 other table had people in it and they were finishing up their meal.
The woman who took our order spoke fantastic English, gave us English menus and let me know that as a celiac, they had separate fryers and that everything pretty much could be made gluten-free including the fried potatoes and haloumi.
I had the May special of a Poseidon burger, which was a grilled piece of salmon with lettuce, capers, aioli and lemon. There was a €3 upcharge for a gluten-free bun so it came out to €18,90 for the burger without sides. It tasted high quality but honestly, I think it would be better as just a piece of fish on a plate. The bun didn't add anything flavor-wise.
I ordered the chimichurri smash potatoes for €8,90. These come with chimichurri and parmesan mayonnaise. Unfortunately these had no chimichurri taste whatsoever and just tasted of mayonnaise. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste like chimichurri.
My husband wasn't very hungry and he had the haloumi fries for €7,90 for 8 sticks and a dipping sauce of garlic mayonnaise. These didn't have much flavor at all. Again, not bad, but nothing special despite the price.
Service was fantastic. Our waitress was very pleasant and I have no complaints.
Price felt a little high for what we got but maybe we're just not familiar with Finland pricing?
I liked the fish I had quite a bit but wouldn't recommend the haloumi or potatoes because there wasn't much flavor aside from mayonnaise.
