Aloha Sitters paired us perfectly with Ms. Alisha--and when I say she was phenomenal, it still doesn't fully capture how amazing she was. We initially booked her for a couple of hours the day prior so she could meet our girls and wouldn't feel like a stranger when we left the next day. From the moment she arrived, her warm personality immediately put us at ease, and she had the girls so excited to see her again. When she came back the next day, she was far from empty-handed. Her Mary Poppins-style suitcase was filled with endless fun activities--face painting, a glow party complete with lights, playdough, colouring, and even hair braiding (she's an expert!)--that kept the girls entertained and happy the entire time. We returned to the hotel to find the room tidy, the girls clean, and fast asleep--a parent's dream! The next morning, they were already counting down the hours until they could see her again. While we were out, Alisha sent photo updates and was incredibly flexible and easygoing when a couple of schedule changes came up. To say this was a positive experience doesn't do it justice. We will absolutely be calling Alisha again on future visits to the island. We also can't thank Aloha Sitters enough for connecting us with her--they took all the stress off our shoulders by handling the vetting process and making everything smooth and simple with guided questions and prompt communication. We have been using the Aloha Sitters since 2017 when we first came to Hawaii with our daughter who was barley a year old. Then again when she was almost three. The process was pretty seamless. Kai was very helpful in answering my questions. There is a one time sitter fee of $40, so just be mindful that you're already investing $40 that doesn't include the per hour fee of your actual babysitter. We had the same babysitter for 2 days. She was so wonderful. She made my son feel very comforting. I was doing a little bit of work in the hotel lobby and she noticed that my son was getting bored so she suggested to take him to the zoo and I appreciated that. She also babysat my son for a few hours while my husband and I went to dinner, so she played with my son in the hotel room. Aloha Parents/Guardians, Please read this review before booking. Here are a few things that I had learned during the booking process: * You WILL be charged the one-time sitter fee of $39 BEFORE meeting/knowing or becoming into an agreement with a possible sitter. I was told, "I will not look for a sitter until you are charged for the fee of $39". It is misleading as online states, "you will NOT be charged until the parent comes to an agreement". * Aloha Sitters charge a traveling incentive. If you do live outside of the Waikiki area-- apparently the farther you live, the more they charge. I was quoted $40 for a traveling incentive, and this is to the West Side (Waipahu) area. Again, there are no traveling incentives listed on their policies on Aloha Sitters website. * The director that I spoke with was quite rude, and did not listen to my concerns as a parent. I had wish it was a smooth sailing process to book with Aloha Sitters. Overall, some of the policies listed online definitely do NOT correlate. I do believe the sitters are awesome, and I do hope to book with Aloha Sitters in the near future when the policies are clearer + descriptive, and are set in stone. (Recommendation on behalf of myself and O'ahu residents to Aloha Sitters -- maybe having a Kamaaina Rate for O'ahu residents? We are charged the same price as the vacationers). Aloha Sitters gave me peace of mind. My 12.5 yr old flew internationally, solo, from Japan to Honolulu. Gisela greeted her as she exited customs/immigration and then took her shopping and site seeing for almost six hours until her dad arrived from mainland (since my tween could not check into the hotel without her parent present). It was a perfect hand-off and I felt my daughter, who is mommy-helper aged herself, was safe in this new city, as she battled jet lag, temperature change, culture change. First time hiring babysitter from the internet for my kid in waikiki. I was so nervous and scared but I give it a try after do some research and call in to talk with them. Our sitters name Naomi, she was great to communicate and punctual. She has been able to do the task I was asked for my kid. This past week we had the pleasure of having Abbygail sit for our family. I must start by saying we have never ever had a sitter for our girls and I was one nervous momma bear. The company explained the cost break down the location difference and made sure that once I was matched with a sitter all fees could be agreed upon through the sitter (incentives are not required just considerate). Abbygail stated in contact with us as she traveled an hour to come help our family. Once she arrived she was friendly and outgoing and put all my concerns and worries at ease. My girls love her and asked for her to come back every day. We had her come twice for our adult dinner work events. She shared island history and plant facts with my girls and some fun mythology about the island! She took the time to draw with them and really spent quality time with them! We used Aloha sitters to watch our 23 month old while we attended a wedding on the other side of the Island. Brittney was our sitter and she was amazing. She came on time and was a good communicator before and during her time with our son. She was able to keep him occupied by taking him for a walk to the international marketplace and in some local hotels where she knew there was an aquarium or water features that our little guy would find interesting. I would definitely recommend Aloha Sitters to any parent that needs a babysitter. Nicole was very helpful with answering my questions via email & over the phone. She definitely helped put my mind at ease when it comes to trusting our children lives in a complete strangers hands. Nicole also didn't take long in finding an awesome nanny to fit our needs. All in all awesome customer service & very reasonable pricing. Our nanny, Annette, was fantastic. She came earlier than expected & she brought toys & books for my kids. Using Keiki Sitters for a corporate Strong Bonds event Today & next 2 days at the Hyatt Regency. This will Be the 7th time we have used them in the past year & 1/2. I've also used them for military balls. My colleagues say, "why pay so much? We could get a cheaper group." Yelp Ohana - you pay extra because you want to entrust your most precious possession, your keikis, to the best. I sing their praises to FRGs, tourists & corporate groups. They come prepared with everything including Aloha & experience. Before the event, Kathy will send you an itinerary of all the age-appropriate activities the kids with do. They have Very safe ratios of kids to providers. My 2 lils, 1 & 5, know them by name now. My husband doesn't trust Sitters & he trusts them! Upon departure they even sent us a Storyboard of the kid's experiences! It looked like they had more fun than us. Childcare is a precious service on this Island & in high demand. We are SO lucky that we were matched with Gisela, she was beyond amazing! It is always tough trusting your child to a complete stranger, but we immediately felt comfortable with her as soon as we met her. Definitely recommend this place, owner is very attentive providing last minute urgent sitters. One of our sitter was super great her name was Jennifer She's super sweet, really loved my kid, she even bring her own toys all of it. I gave her my credit card for any emergency (meals etc) she asks everything and Makesure she wasn't over paying for anything I thought that was very nice of her for doing that instead of ordering and buying things with it . However, second when I used the service I wasn't too happy with it. They couldn't find a sitter for me so owner suggested paying extra fee and the higher rate to get a sitter I was fine with it as long as my sitter can take good care of my child. Plus since my first sitter was super amazing and owner was telling me how great this person is So I decided to go with this person. This second sitter wasn't good because she was trying to valet park when she knew we were staying most expensive hotel in waikiki I'm sure many parents didn't say much so she got away with it but she choose the wrong parents this time Valet parking with validation was still pricy I felt like this isn't fair deal anymore since she's only watching my child at the hotel room for few hours when he's a sleep make-sure he doesn't fall off the bed, Anyways I contacted the owner, issue was solved and because I didn't let her valet park she was already half hour late, (and I still paid her for her full hours and tipped her) showed up in a party outfit which was totally fine but totally not a sitter type. I didn't really trusted her anymore so I told her to share location - I stayed within the resort literally just downstairs anyways when I came upstairs my son was about to fall off the bed she didn't even adjust it. Looks like she's about to fall off the bed!! - I DO NOT RECOMMEND KAELA ? She graduated from USF, it's on her profile. I'm giving this place 4 stars only because of that sitter other then that service itself was very convenient and great. Just beware you can get a super good or sometimes bad sitter! I love this company. We called them the night before we needed someone to take care of our 6 year old! The do an upfront service charge fee which was $39 and then you pay the nanny yourself in cash an hour once the visit is done, and then set you up with one of their care takers. She then sent me a bio of her and asked if we were ok with her being our child's nanny. Great background. We had Shannon M. Our little one loved her! We had her Friday from like 10pm-2am at our hotel and then the next day during a wedding we were in from 7pm-10:30pm at the wedding and she also took him to the pool.
