I must say though that they were really good, large in portion and excellently decorated and served, I just wasn't blown away by them. I ended up getting a cappuccino and slice of a quiche and both were excellent. My wife ended up getting a scone which was also terrific and a latte. We also had an 18 month old with us and we were surprised that they catered well to children and had baby chairs as well. This is a place where it is welcoming and once you sit down, it is hard to leave. Service was friendly and quick and if we were staying in Killarney longer, there would have definitely been a repeat visit to this place. The main course was a magret of duck with mashed potatoes and what appeared to be a phyllo pastry cup al dente vegetables. There was a small glass jar containing strained duck drippings and a bulbed pipette for putting the "jus" right where you want to. My dining partner had a starter featuring a sausage made from suckling pig with sautéed mushrooms and green tomatoes. His starter was followed by a rolled saddle of lamb and aubergine. There was no room for dessert. All-in-all, it was an extraordinary meal. Make the effort to find this place. It was a total surprise well-worth the expense.

This was the first full Irish breakfast I ate where I walked up and felt perfectly full but not stuffed. The Roast House has my vote for the #1 Irish breakfast in Tralee with Yummy Cafe as #2.
