Besides a couple of salons and an adult store, this little street hides Spogler's Continental Bakery. I snuck in just a few minutes before they closed at 6 p.m. There was a couple that walked in ahead of me and wanted to sit in and have coffee. The lady kindly said, "We close at 6 p.m., but I will be cleaning, so if you want to have a seat, it will be ok." I was busy browsing the cakes and pies. There was a little menu with pictures to help you identify which item was which... SO HELPFUL! Although, this is one of those times where it doesn't actually matter what you choose because I'm sure it would be delicious. Unfortunately, because it was the end of the day, there was not a lot of selection left, but there was one... just one custard slice. Needless to say, that custard slice went back to the hotel with me. It was absolutely delicious and perfect with a cup of tea after a long day of travelling, herding cats (a.k.a. my students), and taking a jaunting car tour! My husband went in one day just to get coffee and something sweet to eat and we noticed their advertising board outside that said they had breakfast including French Toast! We went back a few days later and ordered that great French Toast which was served with 2 slices of bacon (ham to us Americans). The meal also came with real maple syrup.
