Although understaffed at the time and our waitress constantly running back and forth with orders or empty plates/glasses, service when we got it was cheerful and friendly. The theme for the food, unfortunately, was excessive saltiness. The leberknödelsuppe had a decent liver dumpling with good flavor and finely ground texture, but the soup was a salt bomb. Likewise was venison goulash, which improved when mixed with cranberry relish and fluffy, housemade spaetzle. The sausage platter had four types and levels of sausage saltiness going on.
Beers are beers and were fine.
Although the restaurant was comfortable, the staff good, and there being some very good spaetzle, three for three food orders being overly salty is too much a pattern to try more.
