Scamming TCG cards with dead packs and booster boxes. They don't let you pick your box for a reason

looked up some cards through their online inventory that i wanted to purchase. i asked the guy behind the counter if i could see these cards and he told me i had to complete the online order. i told him i would like to see the condition of the cards before purchasing as they weren't cheap cards. he said he couldn't do that. as a business you won't allow a customer to see the product they are wanting to buy before purchasing?? no wonder the reviews are all similar. trash service trash shop read more

Customer service is horrendous here. I've been here twice and had a terrible experience both times. Decent selection, but the staff are miserable and everything is priced over tcgplayer. Unfortunately not worth trying to support a local business. read more

Great people, great fun! Commander nights are always a blast and a way to meet some amazing people. The vibe here is laid back, welcoming, and when you get to know people, it feels like hanging out at your table at home playing with friends. While some people are competitive, it has never felt toxic to me and it isn't just events full of sweaty CEDH'ers. The guys that run the store are always helpful, and are great guys. read more

Definitely enjoy the place. Good selection of Magic and Pokemon. Good selection of retro games and they seem to have enough play space for sure. Only complaints here are most of the staff are incredibly rude or creepy and you can tell they hate their jobs. Also alot of the cases/sleeves are alittle over priced but not terrible. read more

The hours are plainly written on the door, supposedly till, 11pm Friday. I have been here with my teenage son twice now, and all the adults are playing magic the gathering thus not attending to customers. Multiple customers in the store asking for assistance, and nobody responds or cares they say come back later. I do know how they plan to stay on business past first year. The owners are so busy playing kids games. Do not go to this store, I will never return. Zero star! read more

I asked the dude at the counter, "Why do you only have pip (dotted) six sided dice and no numbered six sided dice?" He said typically people that play D&D prefer pip dice. First of all, I've been playing D&D since 1989, & that's the stupidest fing thing I've ever heard. The first time i ever saw numbered 6 sided was when i first played D&D. Don't go here for sealed Pokémon it'll be the same price on eBay. Staff can be kind of rude here at times. Honestly hobby shops like this are the reason pokemon market prices are so high. They get product from distributors for below msrp then charge market. Like bro just sell this shit on eBay stop trying to scalp your locals. read more

I use to live close to here for a few years while going to school. I heard about the shop after picking up MTG and a friend said they had what I'd be looking for. I started attending FNMs and later Monday nights for modern tournaments. I made a lot of friends here and enjoyed the interactions I had with just about everyone there. Russ, the owner is a cool guy and a straight shooter. Being around the shop for as long as I was you see plenty of toxic players come through but we have seen several of those people asked not to come back if it became a problem. I suggest giving this place a look if you're close and are interested in CCGs, table top games, and board games. read more

Great local game shop. I'm not an MTG player, so I will allow other reviewers to comment on that aspect of the store. However, I am a big fan of TTRPGs and have recently started playing some modern board games and this store covers both well. The board game selection is Top notch, with games from both Indie and Major publishers. The RPG section is good, but it's obvious this area of the store takes a back seat to MTG and Board Games. That being said, if you play D&D 5e or Pathfinder, they should have most of what you're looking for, as well as a few items from smaller publishers. They do have a great selection of minis for fantasy themed games. I've only been here a hand full of times, but every time the staff has been helpful and knowledgeable about their products. Bottom line, this is the best (and possibly only) gaming store between Austin and San Antonio! read more

When entering the establishment, there were no greetings (probably because the employee(s) were sitting down playing games (which is no excuse for bad customer service)). I took advantage of the alone time to review which products I wanted to buy (to support local a business). The only reason the employee came over was because he finally got up to help a customer who recently walked in to pick up an online order. After offering help, I mentioned which products I wanted to buy and he asked me to place an online order because "it would be more helpful". Which is fine, except for the fact that we were both standing on opposite sides of the card shelves where the product stood. I couldn't imagine that I would have taken more of his time than I spent without being greeted. Make sure that you don't waste time shopping inside; I'll be sure to place an online order and service myself (the customer) since clearly there isn't any here.. read more

Went in for a Magic challenger deck and a few specific cards I'd already confirmed were in stock via their website. While attempting to purchase I told the employee I needed a few cards and he'd asked if I ordered online, which I hadn't. He responded "it'd be more helpful if you did" in an annoyed tone while walking away from me. Ok. Now he's not the only annoyed person. I've visited Alpha a handful of times within the past couple years. Each time I've been unhappy with my experience and today was my final disappointment here. Each visit, including today, the employee who I've spoken with has been rude and dismissive. Any time I've asked a question they could not sound any less disinterested, which someone new to this world would definitely consider off-putting. Well you win Pal, I'll order online. From someone else. And cheaper. I always attempt to shop local, but your customer experience and interaction is what you have to offer than can't be bought online or a big retailer. And if you can't offer that, well, there's no reason not to go elsewhere. read more

If you want a friendly place to play card/board games this is the place to go in central Texas. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable about all of the product they sell.
