My daughter has experienced similar bullying from white students as well. The root of the problem at Hopewell seems to be an entitlement issue, where some children are raised to believe they are above others. I have trained my daughter to stand her ground. She is instructed to meet public insults with an equal response and to defend herself physically to the highest degree if anyone touches her. Respect is earned, and we will no longer tolerate 'royal' treatment at her expense.

I am a HUGE fan of St. Francis High School! My daughter transferred mid semester this year (into…read more9th grade) and she (and we) couldn't be happier. The admissions department helped us to get everything in place quickly and very patiently answered all of our questions. The guidance counselor met with us the first morning and got us squared away easily. Everyone has been so friendly and willing to answer questions and explain how it all works. (I ask a lot of questions!) My daughter absolutely loves her teachers and has made a lot of friends. She is dyslexic and STF was able to personalize her course levels to match where she is in different subjects. She's not only excelling in her classes but, for the first time ever, is excited to go to school. Yes there are uniforms, but she's used to that so that wasn't a problem. All in all....I truly wish I could give St. Francis 6 stars!

Not equipped for what anxiety OR ADHD COME WITH most of the time. They said they were going to enroll me in communication arts, they then bait and switched my mother saying they did not have room, put me in traditional and didn't do anything they promised for my IEP, then when I hit autistic burnout they put me in in school suspension. They never gave a date for moving me to communication arts. I was pulled out and the focus became on keeping me alive.

However 2 years in it hasn't imploded yet. The school it's self is old, needs updating, refreshing, a face lift! But for what it is it is better then some I have seen.
