Our 13 year old dog had to be euthanized this summer due to cancer. Needless to say it took us a little while to find a new family member. 3 weeks ago we did and she's is our tiny fur ball of joy. Unfortunately, Alpine won't give us their "puppy package". We missed their 10 week deadline by two weeks. Were flabbergasted and very disappointed with Alpine. Never mind that's she is still a puppy and will be getting the same things she would with their "puppy package". Never mind we've been a loyal customer for the last 15 years and our puppy now is our 4th dog we've taken to Alpine. Last but not least, never mind our last dog was euthanized at Alpine this summer. Where's their compassion for loyal customers???

Make sure to ask prices when they tell you how they wanna treat your animal. My cat came in with bites and I told them where the bad one was located and they completely missed it so it's still swollen. But the antibiotics are hopefully helping him at the moment and I'm treating the actual wound myself. During the physical, they called me and let me know he had a fever that indicated infection (duh, he has bites from the stray cat that always lead to abscesses, I just got to the vet before they got that bad) and they wanted to do a blood test "To see what's going on" (HE HAS AN INFECTION FROM A BITE DUH) but didn't bother telling me it was gonna be $170 freaking dollars! I had called the day before to ask if I could just come pick up some antibiotics because he gets bit aaaallll the time so I know the drill, and they told me he HAS to have an appointment in order to get them. (Which is fine, I understand.) But they turned it into a $300 bill that I had to pay that I was NOT anticipating AT ALL. I am a broke college student and when they called to get my payment over the phone, I was bawling by the time they brought my cat out to me because I couldn't just NOT pay the bill. They missed the wound, didn't bother to tell me the cost of a blood count, and all I wanted was some $37 antibiotics. So now I'm pissed and missing other bills because I make my own money on a part time job and I can't GET any FAFSA. And I had to have surgery yesterday so now I can't work for a few weeks so I'm $300 out anyway and now I won't even receive a paycheck for a month.

Dr…read more Blanchard reassured us about the big cyst on Arrow's elbow (no need to operate ;-) She focused on Arrow's hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (bloody guts), even though she didn't have symptoms when we brought her in. Good thing, because Arrow got sick again the next night - and Dr. Blanchard had prepared us to do what we could for her at home. Mt. View also squeezed our dog in that very morning, treated her with urgent care, and we were able to take her home in a few hours. They called to follow up and make sure Arrow was improving, were available on call, and provided more supplies as soon as we needed them. And this was all during the Xmas-New year holiday week! We really appreciated expert consultations from Dr. Blanchard in person, and from highly skilled vet tech Monica. Thank you to the wonderful vets and techs at Mt. View. We will be back! (In contrast, a different vet in town handed off Arrow's checkout to an inexperienced vet tech who could not answer questions and gave us wrong information. And they charged a LOT more $$$ than Mt. View.)

And if they have a so called donation fund for others WHy wouldn't they offer assistance to us a little. We could've gotten the rest needed. So I told them to send the donation to another vet willing to work with us. They said no . That they'd keep the money because it was. An anonymous donor. I told the mountain view people I DIDNT WANT THE REFUND FOR MYSELF BUT TO TRANSFER IT TO ANOTHER VET SINCE THEY TOOK THE DONORS PAYMENT ANYWay and it was for my dog! Not a strangers! They lied and tried to say they wouldn't be giving me money to me. I ASKED IF THE DR WAS REMEDIAL AT UNDERSTANDING I NEVER ONCE ASKED FOR THE MONEY TO BE GIVEN TO ME! LYING B*****! We just went in for his first year's vaccinations, which aren't a part of the puppy package, of course, since he's over a year. I was offered to buy the vaccination package, which will supposedly include all of the vaccinations for my dog for his life. I was happy to participate in their new program because I'd had such great experiences for the first year. When we went to check out, they charged me for the vaccination package *and* today's vaccination fee. Apparently, if one buys the package, it doesn't count for the current year, or maybe only if your appointment is on the same day as when you buy the package - which is presumably the majority of the people to whom they market the package: those who are getting vaccinations. When I asked for clarification, I was told the charge was correct. I cannot fathom how buying a package which pays for the dog's vaccinations *does not include the dog's vaccination fees*. It's pure dishonest marketing, at the very least. They're already expensive, but if the business practices are honest, and the quality is good, I'm happy to pay a little extra... but if they're not honest? I'll have to take my dogs somewhere else from now on.

Did not consent to an exam when I took them in for vaccines. Was told "we always do that" Doctor combined an exam with the vaccine...200 bucks later. They fixed my two cats and told me they were "fully vaccinated" but were in fact not. The doctor sanctimoniously tells me it was "in the paperwork" but was NOT part of the verbal out-brief and was only one one of the cats paperwork. They want me to come in for a 3rd round of vaccines and said "it would be taken care of" but then find it will only be "discounted". They MIGHT be competent medical professionals but Alta as a business operation is far from professional and operates like a greasy used car lot. The hospital has a feel of bait and switch. My comment on how expensive it was, was responded to by the staff saying, "you can't put a price on love". What BS. Emotional blackmail apparently is the go-to here when you find out the prices. She came home with at least 13 puncture wounds across her back, ribs, and neck. No staff member informed me of the injuries, and no one even noticed they had occurred. Before this, Maple loved daycare here. But in April 2025, the facility was bought by Best Friends Pet Care, and the quality of care has drastically declined. When I dropped Maple off for her overnight stay, the staff was rude, disorganized, and admitted they didn't even have a kennel ("house") ready for her. Despite purchasing their highest-tier package and bringing her crate, they kept her in a temporary chain-link kennel the entire time. Additionally, I did not receive the 'bedtime photo' I paid for until after her stay was over. The photo, attached, shows she did not sleep in her crate, as they promised and claimed. When I discovered her wounds at home, I immediately called. The manager and staff were unaware Maple had been attacked. Based on her numerous injuries and her timid personality, this was not a single bite--it was a prolonged, unsupervised attack, possibly by multiple dogs. Staff later admitted they are severely understaffed and required by corporate policy to book at 110% capacity. Although they refunded her stay and offered to cover the vet bill, they claimed they could not identify which dog(s) harmed her. This means the aggressive dog(s) has not been banned or separated and may still be attending daycare and boarding. I will never take my dog back, and I strongly recommend you do not either. Maple survived only because of her size--if this had happened to a smaller dog, I believe it would have been fatal.
