The location is good and the number of wash bays are good but you'll never get your car clean here. It doesn't matter if the car wash is busy or not, you will never get water hot enough out of the wash wands to properly remove grime and dirt. Can't say enough how great this place is! Easily the best self wash I've been to anywhere in the city! Definitely remember the last owners and had some bad experiences. As another review were noted the NEW owner is incredible! Super friendly and has put some money into the place to make it better! New LED lights, better soap. Even took me in the back to show me the reverse osmosis system he had put in for the spot free rinse. Prices are always fair and I never feel like I'm being ripped off... Came here today for the first time with a coupon. Cost is 75 cents per minute with one minute to get set up from the time you take a ticket until you finish and pay. No coins or tokens! Clean and upscale environment for a do it yourself kind of carwash. The teenage boy cashier was polite and friendly. The only reason they get 4 instead of 5 stars is that this place ends up costing me $3-4 more than the timed token locations. I will however, definitely return! read more

Don't ever use the timer. It is a rip off. I told them I wanted just to vaccum my car and they told me it's good idea to use the timer. Well bad suggestions bcz you can't charge a customer while they are not even using the product. I asked and they told me I get charged as long as I use it. They should say as long as the timer is on. As long as the timer is on you're getting charged. So you're better off using coins at listen it stops. I have been going to this car wash since it opened. Over the years owners have changed, and I really noticed the last couple of years a Deteriorate of this business. I went through the auto car was and the blaster wasn't working. The owner was going by, and I mentioned it to him, and asked for a credit, all he said was "why". This was the last straw. I went to the Husky car wash, haven't been there for years. It has been upgraded, is so much better. Lots of soap, water is hot, and it seems to be a little cheaper. from now on this will be my car wash and the husky for a wand was, have to find an auto wash next. My experience was definitely not as bad as everyone else's it seems. Though, had I read the reviews first, I wouldn't have bothered. However - I don't like being confused. And this place is confusing. Is there signage that I just didn't see? From the parking lot, you can access the wand wash area. But if you go around back (go out onto the road and then into the little driveway in the back) you'll find the automatic wash. There was a big sign back there with the prices, but I couldn't see anywhere that said if we paid back there, or had to go inside. So to be safe, I drove back to the front and went inside to ask. There's nowhere to park while you run into the office - so you have to leave your car awkwardly in front of the door, while cars are exiting the car wash on either side of you. While inside - the guy kept suggesting that we should do the wand wash instead of the drive thru, because it probably won't get the car as clean as we want. Wait... what? Why do you have the drive automatic wash if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do? To be honest though, I was feeling very lazy and didn't actually care if it got 100% clean - I just wanted to get some of the dirt off before the snow fell that night. So finally he sold us the Alpine package and I head back around to the back of the building. I actually don't have many complaints about the wash itself. It seemed very thorough and I was satisfied with the quality based on the $14.00 I spent. I sure miss Rock N Wash on the southside though. This place is amazing! Always kept so clean and staff are super friendly. To anyone who complains that their vehicle is still dirty after spending $20 a wash either has a super dirty vehicle or doesn't know how to wash a vehicle. We own 3 vehicles that have seen all degrees of dirtiness. We are extremely over the top with our expectations of keeping our vehicles clean and well kept. I can say if it doesn't come clean it's not due to the car wash. We have been to many car washes over the years and this one is the best kept. If their is an issue during wash due to system issues they quickly move us to another bay while they work to resolve the issue brought to their attention. Things break, but these guys are quick to deal with it with it. We also love the ease of the automatic wash for those days it just needs little wash. Keep up the good work. This car wash fits the bill for me. I use the touchless section that you just drive into, park while the machines squirt soap and spray water, then drive out slowly through the dryers. Yes it is a bit more expensive than washing your car by yourself, but this is fast and I don't have to get dirty. And, while my car is being washed, I can be multi-tasking. There are three options with varying services; I like the middle of the road option called The Meadow. Also this is close enough to my house that in the winter I can wash my car and make it home before anything freezes! read more

On the plus side, it's kept very clean. And the credit/debit card usage right in the bays was a great enhancement. However, you cannot get a vehicle clean without using a brush. Not everyone likes to use a brush on their vehicles. I prefer touchless. The reasons for this issue are: 1. Very little soap is dispensed on "Soap". 2. The water stream isn't aggressive enough. As a result, you will pay about 2x vs another local car wash. If you like to use a brush, go here. If you want to spend half as much, maybe not. You can get a vehicle clean elsewhere without using a brush. read more

I previously used Alpine Auto Wash exclusively. They are now under new ownership and I will never go again. Since new ownership came in they: - Turned off the water heater (cold water out of the wands). - Reduced the soap concentration in the wash coming from the wands. - Completely turned off the radiant heaters that heat the building (I used the wash at about -15 C and it was approx. 0 C in the building. Not one of the radiant heaters was running. Freezing cold. - Self brush foam now ejects foam/soap intermittently. Previously ran soap constantly, now it seems to turn on for 5 seconds and off for 15. Frustrating. - I can't confirm this, but they seem to have increased their rate per minute since they installed the credit card pay system. I washed my vehicle countless times previously and the average price was $17. My one wash there was $25 and I believe the time spent was similar. Bottom line. Go elsewhere. You'd be better off using your garden hose on your driveway in the middle of winter. It's practically free and the experience is unchanged. Cold environment, cold water, no soap. I'd give 0 stars if I could. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I went and spent $14 tonight to have my vehicle washed in the drive thru. I too have been using this car wash for years. I usually take my vehicle to Bubbles during the winter so I had no idea that the facility was under new owners. When the car wash was finished I noticed that my windshield had not come that clean so I stopped to ask for a re-wash as the previous owners always honored if you were not completely satisfied. Was I surprised and the condition of my vehicle and the way I was treated. I asked for a rewash and was told "no". I then asked for my money back and again was told "no". I asked the gentleman to come and look at my vehicle. He told me that salt does not come off a vehicle and I would have to scrub it. There has been no salt on the roads for quite some time so I told him it was just dirty from the rain that we had lately and told him I would go wash it in his self serve bay but I would not pay for it. He again said "no". He then proceeded, as others have said, to take his finger and rub off the "dirt". I asked to talk to the manager he said that was he. I then asked to talk to the owner and again was told it was him. I took pictures of my vehicle sitting in front of his business and he asked why. I told him I was going to write a letter to the Gazette and would not be coming back here ever again. He said good don't come back. There must be some way to advise others of this crook. Warning do not go to Alpine car wash in St Albert, since under new ownership they are awful and rip people off. They over charge for the timed washes even if you time yourself they still overcharge you! Past owners always charged once you started washing your vehicle, as per the timer on the machine, now they start your time before you enter the wash! Even if it is busy and you have to wait in line to pay they charge you for the time you waited in line! They don't care about customer service and then all of a sudden pretend they don't speak English when you voice your concerns about being ripped off!!! FML for being charged $70 for a car wash!!! This wash has great pressure, lots of soap and handles larger vehicles easily(even my Excursion).

I chose the wand wash to wash my Not so dirty truck. Not too happy about paying for time before I start washing. That's an extra minute per customer and that's just crooked. The lighting was so bad that when another car came in with it's daytime running lights on I was briefly able to see where I missed. The antique mercury vapor lights haven't seen new bulbs in years and it shows......or doesn't show. The only positive note was it had hot water rinse. After $22 my truck still looked dirty. There was hardly any evidence that soap was being drawn into the sprayer. It's the only $22 they will ever get from me. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS CAR WASH!!!!! SCAM ALERT!!!! I'm going to lay out the story for you. I got to the car wash and pull up to the "auto wash" bay. I forgot to pay so i radioed into the front desk to get a code. He agreed to give me the code and I select the cheapest wash at $10. The wash supposedly included a "foam bath" and "full wash". This was far from the truth. I finished my wash and all looked well until.... I got out and looked at my nice black VW golf. It looked horrific worse than when i brought it to get washed. THE CAR WASH ONLY WASHED HALF MY CAR!!!! I went in to confront the employe and ask to get a free wand wash he said "why" I said because my car is filthy. He said that's what the "$10" package gets you. I replied " nowhere in you sign does it say -this washes half your car-" he said buy the $13 package and it "might come clean. I said thats a scam right to his face at that point I asked the rude Fraudulent Asian man to get me his managers number. He told me he was to owner. I was absolutely blown away. After having used this business regularly, under previous ownership, I just went back to use it for first time since new owners took over. Pre-wash: ?changed the quality of product used - does not work anymore. Rinse: did not work right - changed me over to new bay, gave me a dollar and said I I have to pay again if I want to rinse the car. Remember: time runs on while I was trying to get the rinse to work, then find the person on site, report the problem, and start again. Garbage. Touch-less wash is useless. Card reader wouldn't work so the attendant came out with a code; nice, but he saw my truck and had nothing to say. When I complained that the truck looked pretty much the same after the wash he stated "touch less wash won't clean this kind of dirt". I had to rewash by hand (and pay for it). I don't expect perfection from a touch-less wash, but I expect the bulk of the road grime to be gone. Terrible service, terrible attitude. I have always liked this car wash as the tools are much easier to use than other places. However under the new ownership this place is awful and I would suggest no one waste their money at this business. The current owners are money grubbing lazy crooks. When they went to a pay per stall operation I was not comfortable but I did get used to it. But I found the lighting has even become worse with the new owners and I can hardly see my car to see if I have cleaned it. And I'm pretty sure that is deliberate of the new owners. Second very upsetting development was their wax. I spend an extra 2 mins washing over my car with wax to get the streaks of water off. But since the new owners have taken over there has been no wax at this place. But they continue to list is as a services and charge you for it even though they know they don't have it. I have gone to them to complain many times. The owner comes to look at my car and claims it is working. I show him that it should bead off my windows and he sits there dumbfounded. He goes back to his utility room to check his wax and comes back to claim it is fully loaded. But he is completely lying. I assumed that maybe it was just a one time bad occurrence but I had returned and used different stalls and again the same thing. Always speaking to the owner and he love to lie and claim it works. I was so frustrated I drove across the street to the shell where their hand wand wax works perfectly. Spent another two minutes there to properly wax my car. Then the other day I was rushing into town and wanted to wash my car quickly with their brushless automatic system, and on a car that is not too dirty this system has always worked perfectly. However my first time using it under the new ownership has proved to me that they have also taken the wax out of the automatic system as well. Even though they clearly state on their signs that they offer it and I paid for it. They are complete crooks. Was washing my car and remembering reviews i had read, thinking that the new owners were not getting a fair shake----UNTIL TODAY---- Went in, soap was not working. Went in to pay and (politely) asked if I could get a discount, understanding that he could say that I was rinsing the whole time. That's fair--- We debated about the time. He agreed to four minutes. I was kind of stunned for a second- Was kind of funny/ unsettling and I had this rush of hilarity come to me. I was just thinking minutes ago how it seemed unfair that he was getting poor ratings- All of a sudden I GOT IT! So I replied "Okay, I will never come here again!" and left. To be clear and I hope the owner reads these: That's FOUR vehicles that get a once a week wash in the spring summer fall and periodic washes in the winter--- Not just quick, cheap washes- I generally take my time and use a bunch of stuff that I know most don't- Tire/Engine Cleaner- Vacuum etc. It works out to 3000-4000 annually. Horrible customer service. Even worse equipment. They charge you from the time you enter so I wanted to this to be an efficient experience. The first Bay that I entered, the vacuum stopped working as I was using it. So I had to stop get into my car and move to another Bay. (Time wasted that i have to pay for) In the next Bay the Vacuum worked but barely. Yes there was suction but it would not pick up the tiny rocks in the bottom of my car. When I tried explaining this to the attendant he said that the vacuums were not made for that. What is that supposed to mean??? what other things could a vacuum in a car wash place be used for??? He said that the "vacuums were not the typical household dyson vacuum...... " Oh my goodness i should hope not. I am paying to go to a place that has a Shop Vac that sucks up rocks. I went through the drive though car wash today because I had my baby with me and wanted to be quick. I got the 'Alpine' wash and even though it listed undercarriage wash in the details, once the overhead door opened, I could see that there was no mechanism to wash under the car. I came out and luckily I checked my car before driving away because the $14 wash left my car filthy. Almost as bad as it was going in, somehow? I told the attendant that I was now going through the wand wash and I don't think I should pay, and got some major attitude from this guy. Did it anyway. Went through the wand wash and did the exact same thing that I usually do at 'Corner Car Wash' and normally have good results there. However, the water at Alpine is cold and the place is so dim. I finished and arrived at my destination to find that my car is still dirty. So 25 minutes, $14, and a crying baby layer, I still have to drive to Corner Car Wash to get the job done. This car wash barely rates as a one star. My husband bought me a $100 gift certificate for Christmas and I have used it 4 times since. Each time I have selected the top wash and have had to finish washing my car down when I get home. I went again today and again chose the top option. Again it was substandard with my mirrors and back panel still coated with dirt. This time I went in to express my concerns. The car wash employee came out ( he presented himself as a person of authority in the car wash) and when I expressed my concerns he told me if I wanted my car to come out clean then I should go through the self-wash, not the automatic car wash. He also,stated that my car was "dirty" when I went through so that is why it did not get as clean as I wanted. According to him the job done was good enough.
