Terrible people saying that a almost $10k ring was a piece of junk only worth $300 and wasn't even worthy of melting down

I brought in a ring to have them place a stone back into it. The first time I came to pick it up I told them it was not great work, the owner got involved and said they would fix it. After I returned a second time the quality of the work was still subpar, the goldsmith had a horrible attitude with me but agreed they would look at it again. Upon picking it up for the third time the quality was still not better and the goldsmith continued to have a very bad attitude with me. I finally spoke with the owner who said they would not charge me for it and to have someone else fix it. I was less than impressed. If you want to buy a ring here that is already a perfect fit with no changes needed I guess this place is fine but do not go here for any form of repairs or customization they are not talented in that department and they have a poor attitude and lack pride in their craftsmanship. read more

I went in to get a price on a ring for a trade in per an advertisement that said they would give an extra % higher than the usual offer. I called to ask if they were still doing it and they said yes but they were closing due to the coronavirus and to come in asap. I did. And a grumpy white haired guy was on the phone and took one look at my friend and me and the paperwork and ring we had in our hands and said "I'm not even gonna look at that!" Surprised by such customer service, we told him we had just been on the phone with someone who said that the manager would be willing to look at it. He claimed his position and told us that since we hadn't bought the ring from him in the first place he wouldn't even bother looking at it. We let him know we wouldn't ever do business with anyone so rude and who would dare to treat potential customers with such vile behavior. Never going back. read more

Don't trust them with their 'sell or trade in your gold' offer. I did my homework before I went in and the salesperson/jeweler couldn't quote me how much pennyweight equaled to a gram. Then when he summoned help, they couldn't calculate the same number together; salesperson #1 being lower of course than the manager he summoned to help him. But that's not all, they couldn't even get the karat measures correct, of course, insisting that the karat of my gold was lower than the stamped amounts. Nor did they offer me a legit price - the offer should be 80-85% of the market value, they weren't even coming close. Do your homework because these guys are primed to try to rip you off. 1-2-3 things = rip off! read more

Stopped in to Alpine Jewelers in Idaho Falls, ID today to get an heirloom wedding ring appraised. The ring is gold with numerous stones and we wanted to see what it is worth since it was willed to us and not quite our style of jewelry. Anyway, we stopped in and asked if they could tell us what it is worth. A guy from the back room came out (he was wearing the magnifying jeweler glasses and it looked like he was making jewelry). I figured this guy actually knows jewelry and not just a sales person, so I was confident he would give us an honest opinion. He took it into the back room and said he cleaned it so he could check the stones, etc. He came back and told us the stones were not real diamonds and the ring was only worth a few hundred bucks if he melted it down for the gold. He offered us $203.00. We left and took it to another jeweler up the street who confirmed the diamonds are real and the gold and platinum in the ring alone was worth more than $3000.00 and that was not including the REAL diamonds and rubies. We were told the ring is worth well over $5000.00. THE GUY BLATANTLY TRIED TO RIP US OFF! I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from these jerks, EVER. I just wanted to write this post so anyone wanting to do business with them knows who they really are. A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!! Go somewhere else. read more
