I'm back for a second review a year after my last review. And when I say that this property management is the best property management I've ever dealt with. Whew. like I wanna stay in my house. Yes they do take care of my maintenance needs. Yes They respect my privacy. Yes They're patient with me because life happens. Yes They're quick to answer you back writing, email, the portal, calling. These people are incredibly rude!!! I cannot believe they were not taught how to speak to potential clients. I was frustrated with the process because their online schedule provider asked for a payment to view the property, requested my drivers license, my photo, and then my SS# and after all of that would not give me the access to view the home I requested. After multiple tries I finally got ahold of a person, she is the same one on the voice recording. I explained what had happened... I apologized for being so frustrated and she comes and and says, "well you put your SS# info in, no one made you do it". I COULDN'T BEIEVE IT! In sales the first thing a deaccent salesperson learns is that when a client is frustrated you validate their feelings... "I can see how the process is so frustrating. I am sorry that that happened." and then you go on to explain and see how you can resolve the situation... Basic manners. Basic humanity. Basic common sense! Terrible customer service!!!! read more

The entire time I leased through Alpine it was a headache. I had a total of 64 work work orders in the time I was in my house and 17 were still open when I left. The roof needed to be replaced, the gutters were falling off, wood rot on the windows so bad that squirrels were in the walls. They wouldn't even replace my smoke detectors. There's a hole in the basement large enough for animals to get in. There was a cat in my basement, I called Alpine and didn't hear from them for FIVE DAYS! I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. They collect rent and ignore you. BEWARE read more

Very poor company. Does not care about safety of living situations or tenants. Refuses to acknowledge the fact that my basement floods consistently... for three years. Went MONTHS WITHOUT A ROOM due to bathroom leak and mold. They did nothing to help me until months had passed. Be sure you know your move out requirements before you sign a lease w them. Take lots of move in pics, bc they will pin things on YOU. Also if you go over 74 in the winter, and the old ass furnace breaks, YOU ARE AT FAULT and will be charged. They should offer an assessment before tossing that at you out of nowhere. Like... seriously, if I go over 74... and the old ass furnace cuts out on my watch... I PAY FOR IT!! Have got to be kidding me. This place is a joke actually its pretty scary. It will be a miracle if you have a decent experience dealing w them. Don't even mess with it. I have had the opposite experience as these other renters. I decided to change my life. I was tired of LA CA or many reasons and had been through this part o the country. For me it was affordable, traffic did not exist and old downtown Independence gave me a truly small town american feel while still being by a large city. I looked on line for places. Tim from Alpine was the only one who got back to me right away. Gave me his contact. Was professional. I'm not a small town guy and expect what everyone else lacked. I came to town mid-February. I looked at a few dumps in my price range. I have kinda high expectations for myself. I called Alpine and Megan invited me into the office to see a couple places on line. I liked the two in northern Independence. She had me fill out a form and I showed her all my 10-99s and my 759 credit score. I left and drove by the properties and liked them both. They were pretty. Maintained and clean on the outside. She showed them both the next day and I fell in love with a 800 square foot bungalow. It was exactly what I dreamed of. Big yard, big trees and nobody too close. I record music, Need quite and I get it here. I left a deposit and drove back to LA. I drove back and arrived 3/1/20 a Sunday. Tim and beautiful Samantha met me at the office with a key and smiles. I was so happy and moved my stuff right in. I had a few issues as this was a new property to them. I made a short list and sent it to Tim. A cracked window, the dead bolt on back door and stove would not plug in. Wrong connection. THE NEXT DAY an electrician came out and got stove hooked up. Later the SAME day the handy man and crew called and the came the next day to take care of the rest. They were all super nice to me. The told me about Mexican places as I love Mexican food and needed a market with the real stuff. Thanks Micheal. My experience with Tim and this group was as good as it could be. I am settled in. I love my home. Maybe the management group changed? Cause for me it was as professional as it could be. I can be pretty particular about stuff and I have ZERO complaints. We have lived here just now a year & we have had more problems with this property & this company. This is the third time I have had issues with the plumbing/clogging , along with other issues with the property. Today I have called the maintenance 4 times to fix my plumbing & no answer. When someone answers they are in no hurry to send someone out to fix the maintenance issue. The property I am currently at should have been properly taken off & actually fixed before they decided to put it up for lease & rent it out to someone ... yes it is an old house but this house you can tell was NEVER taken care of by this company & nothing was ever properly fixed , it's all done half ass. Great communication, always called me immediately when voicing a concern. The reason I gave 4/5 Stars is because of their Automated system. It's confusing and spams your email everyday when you owe something whether you actually owe it or not, but at the end of the day... This property management company does the right thing and takes care of it for you, even on Sunday when they're at Home :-P When I moved in, I noticed the back door did not lock or shut all the way, so I called and asked about it. The next day a maintenance guy (who was very personable and friendly) Installed a brand new door... Very refreshing as most companies would have been at least a week! I feel like Alpine has gained some new employees recently and they are really making an effort to make their Tenants happy! read more

This is just a bunch of incompetent, ill managed, confused agents and secretaries. Scheduled a viewing for 9:00, and no one shows up. Waited there for 20 minutes so I decided to call the main office. The leasing secretary calls the agents that are supposed to meet with us and they still don't answer. She tells me to reschedule, so I leave since it is a 30 minute drive from KC to Olathe. Another leasing secretary leaves me a voicemail saying if I am in the area, she can still show me the property. So I turn back and try calling the office, at least 15 times and the line is busy. I decided to try another line and the lady, Kim, who answered told me she would let the others know I was waiting for a viewing. Come 9:50, no one has shown up, and when I call the leasing office they say they didn't know I was still waiting?! Seriously bad communication within the organization and really unprofessional as well. Waste of 2 hours of my life. Definitely will not lease or seek rentals from this agency. read more

I really wish I would of looked more into this company before renting from them. They have 6 complaints on the better business bureau website and some negative reviews. Now I am stuck with a year lease. This company is rude and unprofessional. Angie, who works in the front office, has hung up the phone on me and has been extremely disrespectful over the phone. Talking to a supervisor does not help because they continue to allow Angie to disrespect renters. I have gotten to the point that I just count down the days until my lease is up so I can move out of this property. Also, we have had a number of issues with this house. The house was illegally set up for water when we moved in so we went weeks without water. Then the hot water didn't work. Our stairs are a hazard but they have sent someone to fix them over three times and they still aren't fixed. We also do not have a air conditioner that we were promised in the lease. Even once we obtain an air conditioner we were just informed that it does not work for the upstairs area. I would not recommend this management company to my worse enemy much less a friend. read more

Worst Property Management Company I've ever rented from. They are extremely racist against me and belittle me whenever I make complaints. I thought that they where just a bad property management company and it didn't have anything to do with my race, but whenever I called and made complaints they would ignore it or tell me for weeks that it would get fixed. Our fridge was broken for a month and they wouldn't fix it. My white roommate called and I was so surprised on how their entire demeanor changed. They were very understanding explain the situation and fixed the problem with a week. I have even spoke to the multiple repair men that came over and they confirmed my beliefs.( They where caucasian) They informed me if I wanted anything done then I should have my roommate make all of the repair calls. So if your not apart of any minority group then this property management company would probably be fine. read more

This company started off "OK". We relocated across the state for my job in a rapid hurry. They were fast to get a someone to a home for us to view and then were very helpful to get the lease signed for us to move in. Then on move in day the appliances (which were dropped off the day before move in) did not work. They are closed on postal holidays which left us with no heat on a cold October day. We were threatened with eviction within the 1st month because they didn't take their money for which they had all the necessary information to take it automatically. Then 2 months later when they changed their payment policy we were not notified via letter or email and when i called to say rent has not been taken yet I was informed that auto-payment was stopped and I needed to write a check as they had no other way to accept rent at this time. It took them 3 months to evaluate a leak in the basement and another 3 months to fix it. It took them 3 weeks to address a cracked stack drain, and when the evaluation showed it needed to be replaced it NEVER was and is now MUCH worse. (the new management company just assessed and will be out to replace within the next 72 hrs :) ) When the air conditioner broke on the hottest day of the year it took 14 calls between my husband and I to get any information because "only one person has access to the maintenance calls" (UNCALLED FOR!) Bonus is that for the past 6 months I have had to pay them a convenience fee to pay my rent. So I'm paying them to pay them. RIDICULOUS! This company is a bold face joke. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM you will hate it. Needless to say I was so happy to receive notice that our home was moving into another management company.
