For some dumb reason (laziness) I am still a member of this credit union after 7 years....I thought that there Customer Service Representatives had actually been taught some customer service skills in the last few years, but I guess they just happened to hire some friendly people...because now it's entirely hit or miss on whether you get customer service at the Bishop location. For location reasons my uncle has his account in AltaOne. I'm now helping him with his banking and bill paying. This is absolutely the worst credit union or bank I have ever dealt with. Their employees, both in person and on the phone, are very polite an try to be helpful. I have great sympathy for them since the credit unions online practices and procedures are terrible. We were fed up with the lousy customer service and constantly increasing, ridiculous fees with regular banks. We had heard great things about using a credit union and decided to open a checking account with AltaOne. We now have five accounts with them. The following is based on my personal experience with Alta One. If you like your money, or even remotely care for it as a distant cousin, this is not the bank for you. If you like paying high fees and getting hit with penalties this is your bank. Look at their yelp rating, there is a reason it is so low. Horrible!! Disastrous!! These jokers should not even be allowed in the banking business. I opened an account with them thinking a credit union was more personal than a bank. Perhaps they are more personal, but if they can find a way to screw up your banking experience, they will!! To start with, I was assigned an account number - no problem, except the checks that followed from AltaOne had a different account number than the one assigned to me!! Imagine the disaster that caused!! Then I attempted to set up automatic payments....again, a "screw-up" on their part, as they put it, and my loan failed to get paid!! Run from these idiots....anyone has to be better!!! I was told that "someone from the bank would be calling to apologize for their mistakes"....and that was months ago!!! They can't even apologize without screwing up!! read more

This woman Michelle is rude af! She tried to take money out my account when it wasn't supposed to be . I asked her to call the lone pine branch to figure it out, and she gave me attitude and decided to take matters into her own hands and try and make me not have money.. I was very upset with the customer service and how much of a bitch she is ! read more

Ok so I call the bank and I she told me I don't used my account a lot so I said yeah I don't I just used it to cash my checks and make payments ...so the next think she said was " we are not a check cashing place " to me that was the most stupid thing I have heard ..I guess now they tell you on what and how you can use your account so when you want to open an account at Alta one in bishop ca make sure you ask them what is your account good for.... read more

AltaOne has rolled out an "improved" online banking system. The problem is how to get into it. It's interesting that the CSRs don't even know how to help us as we wait and wait to receive the magic security code that will allow us to view our accounts. This has been going on since 10/12. Beware when a bank tells you they have improved their online banking or statements! read more
