I am obsessed with this store. Everything is sorted by color and sectioned off by size. It's completely perfect! Their sale items are great, too. It is very rare that I buy clothes full price. Each time I come here, they always have some new items on clearance. Their customer service is quite stellar, too! If you love accessories to match with your clothes, you can probably find something to match your outfits from here. I actually really like that they've moved to Perkins Rowe just because I prefer shopping in this area over going to the mall area. Their clothing designs are colorful and fun + very high-quality. The shopping bag and tissue paper stuffing I got was even scented, which I believe you can purchase those scents in-store, too. This is probably my favorite retail shop at Perkins Rowe. I like it. A Christian themed store. Not ashamed to sell Christian attire & items; that's rare in this day & age. I like entering & hearing & seeing Christian music & paraphernalia. Yesssssss how cool. Not to mention the apparel is trendy & stylish. Upon entrance a friendly associate greets you, advises of ongoing sales & promotions. Shoes, accessory items, tshirts, jeans, dresses, you get the picture. Price points are a tad bit more than I anticipated, but I'm not complaining for the statement that's being made. The store is absolutely beautiful! I couldn't stop staring at the register backdrop. The staff was also very attentive and helpful.

Nice store and clothes. However the employees should NOT have their dogs in the store. ESPECIALLY standard poodles that "don't like kids." My 3 year old nephew walked toward the dog and it jumped toward him and started barking. And the the response I got was "sorry, it's not use to being around kids." THEN DONT HAVE IT IN A PLACE OF BUSINESS. End of story. Yes the dog was on a leash, thankfully. But doesn't make it okay. read more

This is the store I've been looking for my whole life. I had never heard of it, but I was walking by and a vintage-looking A-line dress caught my eye. I'm so glad I turned around and went in. From what I saw, it's mostly dresses, and they seem to range from vintage looking to somewhat bohemian looking. Nothing was plain, and everything was very feminine. Also, I didn't see anything over $100. In addition to the clothing, there are lots of trinkets that would make great gifts. They carry those wall art pieces with inspirational quotes on them and candles and key caps and wristlets and things of those sort. I will probably be going there once a month from now on. read more

Absolutely love this store! Thanks to all the employees who work here - service was helpful and kind. It's not easy to work in retail, which is a demanding industry and one of the least profitable - especially fashion clothing, as opposed to handbags/accessories. Got a photo frame for mother's day, and a square wooden poster thing with a Bible verse on it - great finds. Glad I stepped in after noticing a few items items with Bible verses in the display. Store reminds me a bit of Anthropologie but Christian and more mass market. read more

I was looking to explore Baton Rouge a little bit since I was only there for a short amount of time and my Lyft driver recommended I head down to do some shopping at Perkins Rowe. She asked me where I wanted to be dropped off, and since I didn't know the the area at all I told her to drop me somewhere in the middle. She dropped me right outside of Altar'd State. I had literally just attended a Saturday night vigil prior to this Lyft ride, so it was perfect that Altar'd State was the first store I walked into. Always a fan of boutique stores, I walked in and saw so many things that I liked, Especially gifts that I wanted to get my friends. A few people asked me if I needed help, but at that point I was just taking everything in the store in. I ended up purchasing a necklace with a globe on it to signify my travel life, and I got a few gifts for my friends and colleagues - books, socks, another bracelet and piece of jewelry, and altogether it came to about $60. Not too bad. Kirsten rung me out and we got to talking about a bunch of stuff. She told me all about the other stores they had and also we were getting along so well that she offered to wrap my gifts in tissue paper and give me a bag so I wouldn't have to go out and buy them for my gifts. So sweet! Overall, I was so impressed by the store and I would definitely go back and recommend it to my followers. read more

5-stars for being closed on Sundays. The workers here were friendly and helpful. There seemed to be a pretty cool collection of clothes, accessories. and other knick-knacks. There was cool Christian music playing over the speakers and they seem to do a lot to promote helping various organizations. There was also a fairly large SALE section. The Apple Store is just across on the other side so it can be a good rescue if your gal takes too long. It's just cool to see a Christian Store be closed on Sundays. Unlike that other company (starts with Forever and ends in 21) who prints "3:16" on their bags but steals other people's designs. read more

Great boutique that gives back to the community through their sales! I needed a specific color & style dress for a wedding last year and the staff were all so helpful in helping me select the perfect one. (I meant to review this place last year but it slipped my mind and I just randomly remembered to do so so now.) When all of the options I tried on didn't quite suit me, the manager came to ask what kind of style I was looking for and said she had some new items in the back that just arrived and hadn't been stocked yet. Low and behold, it was the perfect dress! They were also so very patient with our toddler as well, who was having so much fun going in and out of the dressing room underneath the door, lol! The selection of dresses and fashionable clothes & accessories were pretty great! I did find some of the retail prices to be higher than what you could find for similar items at other stores, however, that is likely due to the fact that Altar'd State gives back a percentage of its sales to community initiatives. read more

From what I can see on their website & in the location I go to, they only go up to size 31...... I'm like a 34/36 and none of their shorts fit me. Why don't they make bigger sizes? Kind of makes me feel like they only want certain figures wearing their clothes.... read more

Cute store. Bought a few items. Got home - they are junk. Terrible return policy. Threw that money right out of the door. Won't be back. Perkins Rowe really needs to upgrade from all the fake boutique stores. read more

Totally wonderful store. My favorite! Can't get enough of the fun mix and match pieces. Works for any age, as I'm a senior citizen. So many choices and a delightful atmosphere. read more
