I had to have my dress altered for my son's wedding, after I received a message saying it was ready I excitedly picked it up soon after. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I tried on my dress after asking to do so 1st, and discovered it was too long. The lady working there told me I had to come back and check with the owner the next day during a small time frame. I returned the next day & tried on the dress with my shoes I had intended to wear. She assured me it was not too long,although I knew it was. I should have insisted she alter it a little bit more. It was definitely too long. When I was walking with my son down the aisle I had to hold my dress with one hand for fear of tripping on it. An extremely important occasion for me that was definitely dampened by the length of my dress. I was not able to dance freely in the dress definitely disappointing. Will not use again. She was friendly, so I'm not giving one star, but results were very disappointing. read more

Oh my goodness. I tried my bridesmaid dress on the day before the wedding and it was too small. I arrived at this location at 8 in the morning. I'm so glad I found Rose to do the alterations for my wedding dress. She is very quick, detailed, and personable. My dress was too long and I needed a bustle. She explained all the different types of bustles that would work with my dress and which one she thought looked best. When I picked up my dress and did my fitting it looked perfect. Rose is my wedding hero! I stupidly didn't try my dress on until a week and a half before my wedding. Once I did, I realized it wouldn't zip up all the way, I never added a bustle and it needed to be hemmed a good two inches all the way around the bottom. Not only did I know this would cost me an arm and a leg but I didn't think it could be done in the time I needed it. Rose proved me all wrong! She was not only incredibly welcoming but assured me she could get it all done at a more than fair price but it would only take four days! I picked up my dress today and I couldn't be more happy. The first time I went to see Rose was about 4 years ago I took a triple XL Oakley ski jacket in and needed to make it an extra large. She looked at it for probably five minutes thinking of different ways to make it smaller and yet not change its appearance. She finally made it seem down the back of it that if you didn't know better you would think Oakley did it themselves. About a year later I changed professions and being somebody that always had a rather large neck I always had shirts that were way too big in the sleeves in the sides. I took a handful of brand-new dress shirts in there and she tapered the sides and took the sleeves in. I couldn't believe I how the shirts fit when I got them back it was incredible. Over the last couple of years I've taken many many items to her and referred her to many people that of been extremely happy with the work that Rose has done. There's been a couple times over the last several years that I went in there and needed something done in a hurry and Rose done everything I asked for and then some and never charge me anything other than the normal price. I just bought four suits today that all need some work I will be there first thing in the morning and I know she'll greet me with a smile and I need one up back by Wednesday and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I can't comment on the negative review here but I've always been more than satisfied with everything Rose has done and will refer her to anyone. Rose is so good! I bought an off the rack wedding dress that was made for a 5'6 body and I'm only 5'2. The problem was the bottom had very hard overlay to take off and so much detail (sequence, peals, scallops). She was able to finish it in 2 weeks at a reasonable price. I've had several friends get married and talk about their alterations taking 6 weeks and extremely expensive. While I was there I saw another bride with a complicated train and she helped her no problem too! Rose was so sweet and very personable. I came here entirely based on 1) needing an alterations place close to work and 2) Yelp reviews. I dropped off a bridesmaid dress on Wednesday afternoon that needed some major work - it zipped but was uncomfortably tight in the waist and needed hemming. The biggest issue I had was that I neglected to get this taken care of earlier and needed a fast turnaround - by the following Wednesday at the latest since I needed to fly out of town for the wedding. Rose advised me to come back on Monday after she let out the dress and she would mark/pin for the hem as the adjustments may shift the length of the dress. Today, I went back to try on the dress with shoes so Rose could begin the hemming. I was SO pleasantly surprised - I have no idea how she managed to do it, but the dress fit perfectly. (I actually do know how she managed to do it - she added in a fabric panel on the sides of the dress that are completely unnoticeable due to the location and her great work). She advised that she would complete the hemming today (Monday) and the dress would be ready for me to pick up anytime tomorrow (Tuesday) - earlier than what I needed. Despite how great the dress looked, I was a little nervous when asking about price - I've been in more than a few weddings and have paid upwards of $150 for alterations on dresses that needed little more than hemming and strap shortening. Rose's prices were half of what I'm used to spending and I'm very pleased with how the dress turned out - it's honestly probably some of the best alterations work I've had done. I took a long black dress to Rose to get hemmed (only 1 1/2 inches off) and they charged me $33 which is absolutely ridiculous just based off of the amount i got taken off but especially since the dress itself was only $40. I took an expensive silk dress to this shop to be hemmed. Rose recommended that she do a little hem as it would look better than the folded hem the dress currently had. I deferred to her judgement. When I picked up the dress, the entire hem curled up unevenly. I told Rose I was not happy with the way it looked and she told me it was because the dress was silk (the original hem did not curl.) Then she said it was the style of hem I chose and she could do a different hem, but it would cost me more. I decided I didn't want her to touch my dress again. I bought a wedding dress for an awesome price off the rack, but it was a size 14 and I'm only a 10. However, me being 5 months pregnant at the time of my wedding was going to be a problem so I knew I should get a larger dress because you can always take it in, but you can't always let it out. Rose took on my dress situation with the utmost confidence. She told me to wait until last minute to get it done so we could see how much my belly and breasts would grow. I brought it in a bit earlier than she suggested because I'm a nervous person. LOL. I was disappointed that she didn't stick to her originally quoted price for me that she even wrote down on paper as a promise when I first came in. She jumped it up from $100 to $300! My dress was only $400 so i couldn't possible spend that much to have it altered. However, her seeing my situation and disappointment, she worked with me on the price and we ended up agreeing on $150. I called her about 3 days before we scheduled my pickup to see how it was coming along and to see if it could get done earlier (I was getting very scared and couldn't even sleep at night.) she said she would get it done a day earlier. However, the next day she called and said it was already ready for me! I zoomed in on my lunch break and tried it on... and let me tell you. She worked MIRACLES on that dress. She turned the huge baggy size 14 into an 8 up top, 10 below (for baby room)! They are all so sweet there at the shop and she even offered to carry everything for me to the car. She does great work on wedding gowns, so if you're looking for a place to get some serious altering done, you can trust Rose. read more

I've had two pants altered at this location. The first time, they left them way too long. I went back and they fixed them for free. On the second pair, they left one leg about an inch shorter than the other. I went back to get it fixed and have it taken out an inch. i got them back shorter, but still uneven. I eventually went to a more expensive tailor where they told me they botched the waist when they took them out. Alterations by Rose is cheap, but you get what you pay for.
