Terrible experience and a shady business. We took my daughter's prom dress in to get it hemmed and we were quoted a price of $67. My daughter went to pick it up when it was ready and the lady charged us $93. She told my daughter that they never quoted us the original price. I admit we should have got something in writing so that part was our fault. I guess I didn't think that we would be flat out lied to. And to add salt in the wound we purchased a $10 discount from Groupon and the woman wouldn't except it because she said that we "hadn't filled out the form correctly ". This place had us over a barrel because prom was two days away so we paid and wen on our way. So what was supposed to be a $67 alteration became a$103 job. You can't take advantage of people like this and run a business forever. When they quote a price that should be their word. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! read more

Where to start... I brought my daughter in to have her prom dress altered, they pinned her and assured me the work would be done in a week. I came back to a dress that looked half good, the other half was completely destroyed. The arm hole that fit perfectly forced the top to pull to that side because the other side was so gapingly misfitted that it would not stay in place. Not to mention the skirt that was made to be longer in the back and shorter in the front was 2inches off the ground on one side in the back, 1 inch off the ground in the back on the other side, and overlapped the ground by 2 inches in the front. Don't let me forget to mention that the lining underneath was COMPLETELY visible by a large amount on one side. While addressing these issues with the seamstress and (I assume?) the manager, the manufacturing of the dress was constantly blamed. Isn't that what I'm paying them to fix???? So the dress started out as a 2 piece with a 1 inch gap between the top and the bottom and ended with a lumpy top that sits 4 INCHES above the skirt because when fixing the gaping arm holes, instead of tightening the sides to fit her figure better, they took the material from the top of the shoulders. I was told if I was not happy on the THIRD day coming in to fix this that I would be refunded my money... needless to say I AM NOT HAPPY and I was willing to pay HALF of the $130 bill (outrageous btw) and they were unwilling to compromise resulting in this rating and review. read more

These guys have saved me many times.. Had to go to a Christmas party and my suit pants were tight(gained some weight). I dropped it off in the morning and they had it ready for me in the evening. I changed at their store and went to the party.. thanks guys read more

Terrible service and quality of everything. I do not recommend. I walk in and the one girl in there is video chatting with her boyfriend and then decided it was appropriate to keep the boyfriend on video while taking my measurements for my alterations. You can here his side of things the whole time loud and clear. The changing room is right by the door and lobby with only a curtain to block you that doesn't go all the way out. Anyone can peak in from both sides. When I go back to retrieve my items from a break at work they didn't have my pants ready and wanted me to put them back on to complete the job. Before that, the lady was too busy looking at items to even say hi to me let alone the other 2 ladies working there in the back who saw me. Anyway, I asked why, when the girl working the other day already did this. They said they tried calling my number and I said well let me see if the number is correct. It was off by one number. How does a 4 sound like a 5?! I decided to put the pants on and get it done, because this suit was for a wedding and needed to be done. She said five minutes. It was 15 to 20. The first girl never told me how much everything would be so when she rang it up it came out to $87. I said how could that be for four things?!! She recalculated it and some how came up with $76. I said I'm not coming back here again even though this is closest to where I live and she acted like she didn't care about my future business. read more

I purchased a groupon to do some alterations. I soon found out that they charge you more if you use the groupon..... So I just waisted the money on the goupon. I have priced alterations if I pay cash and its actually cheaper if I do not use the groupon. read more

Do NOT buy Groupons from this place. When I dropped off my clothing to be altered, the gentleman did not write down my groupon number (just said to bring the coupon in when I came), and when I returned to pick up my items, they said that I could not use the groupon. He apparently had also forgot to have me pre-pay, since I was getting alterations and drycleaning done on the same items, and the woman yelled at me when I returned to pick them up-- pointing to the sign that says you are supposed to pre-pay. It is not my fault as a customer that their employees do not follow their own procedures. Finally, the quality of the tailoring itself is terrible. After dropping off the items, I got a phone call that stated that I needed to be re-measured, yet when I arrived, the items had somehow been altered. The measurements the gentlemen did were extremely crude, so some skirts ended up slightly big, some slightly small. Two of my five items had to be re-done because they were altered so poorly. One skirt that was taken in clearly was sewn crookedly, so the seam would not lay flat, and they did not take in the blouse on the front darts, so it was baggy. Even after a second alteration, the blouse has a baggy spot in the back that the woman said could not be fixed. I've never seen such poor customer service and low quality. read more

Brought a shirt and a long dress in to be hemmed -- no cutting was needed, just simple hemming. Also wanted the sleeves hemmed -- again no cutting just turn and sew. I disclosed when I brought the items in for alteration that I had purchased a groupon to use on this order. I was never given an estimate of the costs. Upon returning to pick up the items, I was informed that it would be $48 and the groupon took $20 off. I was so irritated by the obvious price hike that I left without checking the garments on the spot -- when I got home I found that the bottom hem o the long dress had been cut but NOT SEWN! So essentially I paid for a hem that was never completed. To add insult to injury they had the items for 2 weeks. I have taken items with similar tailoring needs to the Alterations by Sarah on South Greenwich before and the prices were reasonable and appropriate ($28). $48 for this work is OUTRAGEOUS. It is clear that they have inflated the prices to recoup losses from the use of the Groupon. I will NEVER have work done at this location again. I immediately reported this to Groupon and received a full refund for the remaining 2 groupons I had purchased for use at this location. Also read the review for the North Rock Road location -- I wish I had prior to buying the groupons! Buyer Beware! read more
