She took in all the measurements, and went to ring me up and told me I had to pay before she did the work, which I was fine with. She told me it was $60 to take in a little at the chest area. The dress fit perfectly except up top. $60 is more than I paid for it... and now I can't even return it because she ripped the tag off. My boyfriend also came her a couple months ago and paid $40 to take in a pair of pants... rip off. Will not be back and will not recommend to anyone.

When we brought it up to the owner, he claimed that the stains were there when we gave it to him, which pictures of the dress prior to dropping it off verify otherwise. We went in hoping to support a minority-owned business and got utterly screwed over (this dress was needed to attend a work event) without an apology or an attempt to make things right. Instead we got blame and unprofessionalism. Do yourself a major favor and go anywhere but here for your tailoring needs.

She had her work cut out for her, because my dress was originally too small. She let it out (a couple times...), took in the sleeves (which involved moving the buttons), and added a hook & eye for the bustle. She also attached my mom's original wedding veil to a hair comb (the 80s headband had to go!). Evelyn was great to work with because she is patient and was responsive to my wishes, but also used her lifetime of experience to advise me. I wanted every detail of my wedding dress/veil to be perfect, and it really was, thanks to Evelyn. Don't be deterred by her lack of online presence.
