Let's take a little step back.. When I was a kid we had a family masseuse and she was amazing, literally her hands did wonders to how you feel and how you look. And since I lived away from home I couldn't find that same feeling and tried expensive spas, cheap places - everything, so I was about to give up. Now, if you are like me - like deep tissue massage (I was practically raised on it) then you will absolutely love Joseph. Even I had to tell him to notch down the pressure a bit. And that never happened since I moved - I was always asking for more pressure and making every masseuse sweat with their work. The only downside is it's a bit cold inside - so just ask for extra blanket if you are cold. Sport massage for 1 hr cost £40 there - and I can't get wait to get mine again tonight! Funnily enough Joseph told me, he charges £70 for the same thing in another salon in Bank station area in the City. It's not a flashy, sleek place, it's a converted upper ground floor flat just 3-4 minutes walk from Wood Green station, but if you want cheap but quality treatment with nice staff - go there and you won't regret.

The acupuncture was fairly good, however the massage was terrible and I was worried that the therapist injured my hamstring (I have had A LOT of sport/deep tissue massage)...and the herbal was eyewateringly overpriced. All that aside...a week after treatment I received a flat out crazy phone call from the owner accusing me of not paying...when i have a receipt and a debit on my bank account. She then changed her story and said the bank refused the transaction..which again is absolutely not true..as I have a receipt and verified the completion of the transaction (and have proof) on my account. I could understand calling someone if there is an issue, but she was aggressive and when I told her that there was no discrepency on my end- she called me a "liar and accused me of fraud." I am not even sure what that means, but it is certainly not an experience I would recommend for anyone. AVOID!

Checking in was quick, they had me fill out a form that I'm not sure was even looked at, but I have no extra needs so this wasn't an issue. I DID, however note that I'm ticklish and my massage therapist was unaware. You leave your shoes in the lobby after signing in and are guided to the back. It was a generally good massage, she seemed to be very experienced and knowledgeable. She was just a little rough which is when I realized I probably should have requested a relaxation massage instead of deep tissue -- I usually alternate between both; sometimes relaxation is TOO soft but sometimes deep tissue is TOO hard so maybe I'm just the weirdo here. She also wanted to talk through the whole session which takes away from the relaxation factor for me. Overall I would recommend and suggest to be very communicative of your preferences before hand. Don't just rely on the sign in sheet to be read.

I had hundreds of Thai massages and know very well what to expect from one, this level is one of the lowest I experienced. I attempted to explain it at the reception and here is where they took it personal instead of professional, one person sitting on the sofa jumped in the conversion pretty offended saying she didn't believe me because she knows her well, the other said just to pay and it's ok. The one who gave the massage was dismissively laughing and shaking her head. They made no effort in trying to understand a customer's complaint but rather just go on dismissive-confrontation mode and get rid of me by showing me the door.

The treatment is done on a mat on the floor but it was comfortable. She asked me all the right questions - any injuries, how hard/soft I would like my massage, any particular areas to work on. Towards the end she also asked if she could sit on my back for a deeper stretch which I didn't mind at all. I felt wonderful at the end and disappointed it was over so soon. Then I was given a lovely jasmine tea as I sat up slowly in my newly calm radiance and invited to return upstairs when I was ready. My problematic shoulder felt totally un-knotted and my brain wonderfully calm. I would love to go again ASAP. Highly recommended.

Within 24 hours I had no pain, the lady time I hurt my back I was off work for the weeks. So I was extremely happy with the result. I went in to address some tightness that I have been experiencing as a result of a nagging cycling injury now aggravated by waking in London for two day. I did not make an appointment but dropped and rang the bell. It does not look like they are set for drop-in appointments. They did see me, but it took a while to prep while I was on the table. I explained my issue and the focus to be the lower half. However the effort was put into my shoulders despite the comments about the legs. There was a combination of standing on me (this was a new experience for me - not a fan) and forearm and elbows. There was very little hands being used. Here is the worst part. She used a menthol rub. It was so heavy and overpowering. As she rubbed my legs with this embrocation it got on the sheets. When I turned over the part of the sheet with this product got in my man parts. That was comfortable to say the least. Add insult to injury, not only did she start late she finished a little early. I was thoroughly impressed with Hanna who was super-polite and professional, as well as looking as cute as a person can possibly be! She really got in there with the crazy knots I was carrying and put some serious welly into cracking them up. I'm not that experienced with Thai massage and she was careful to ask how much pressure I wanted and where I preferred to be focused on most (so crucial for a masseuse to ask!) The little touches also impressed me: a heated blanket so that the table was warm when I clambered on, and the softest eye towel to cover my face when I turned over. Mostly I felt pampered and catered to... she even spent an extra few minutes on me, past the allotted hour, making sure that I really felt looked after :D
