Prices are the most reasonable we've found in NYC. The staff is personable, professional and helpful. I love the vibes here, great little lobby / kitchen to heat up food, take a quick meeting or get some work done. Clean restrooms. Love this place!

It had EVERYTHiNG that I needed to do a Killa Dilla shoot with as a Photographer , AND my entire crew team was very happy too! All the furniture and equipment there is completely mobile, ALL on wheels to easily move things around, customize our shooting and working areas!! *(Even the large well-stocked refrigerator was too!) They was state-of-the art equipment. A kitchenette, comfortable lounge area, 3 awesome steamers, 4 Garment racks, and 3 professional Hairdresser/Beauty Stylist chairs too! *(Boy, was my Hairdressers & MUA happy as a clam too!!!) I've always come here for dance performances, which happen at various times every month. Depending on the size of the show, seating and standing room can be pretty minimal, so expect to be cramped if it's popular. When it comes to performances, I would recommend coming in early and try to get in before they close the doors. The place super easy to miss, they could really do better with the signage. It's so minimal that the building it's housed in could pass for a school or even a warehouse of some kind. There are also opportunities for classes for the budding dance student. The Art Students League will always have a special place in my heart. I can't speak to how they are…read morecurrently but I attended from 2015-2019 and made many friends here, and it was a great environment to create, whether I was learning wood sculpture or refining my vision as a painter. Most of the instructors were wonderful, offering guidance when I asked and space when I needed it. It is very reasonably priced and remains a true NYC institution. The only instructor I would caution against is Pat Lipsky. I found her conceited and negative, even spiteful at times. If your aesthetics do not align with Immanuel Kant or Clement Greenberg, you may not feel welcome in her class. After she asked me to help set up her studio for a visiting curator, I left the class. From that point on, she refused to acknowledge me when we crossed paths. Still, the overall experience was deeply meaningful. I am grateful for the time I spent here and the ways it shaped my work and friendships.
