Cost is crazy high... high like "an arm and a leg, HIGH!" They recently took our pooch in the back office and provided two services that we neither asked for or approved. The time before, they wanted me to dope my dog up because they can't handle him. You'd think they'd have the skill set to cut his nails, but they'd rather I give my dog DRUGS to make it EASY ON THEM with no thought to what's GOOD FOR MY DOG...drugs aren't! Care for my pets is useless if I CAN'T AFFORD their prices. Walking in their door will cost you at least $56 dollars, and that's before they've even looked at your pet yet. Who do they think they are? I don't know about you, but I'll go to a Vet clinic where my dog is king...not to Altitude where clearly MONEY IS KING. read more

Just moved here from Arizona. My Older Border Collie was really sick we rushed him to Altitude and it was 5:30 pm closing time but they stayed and took care of him. Thank You! They ran some tests and got him one the right meds. They got Cooper hydrated and he is much better this morning. read more

Altitude + vet shortage =MOST EXPENSIVE VET IN THE STATE OF WY!!! Be prepared to pay blue sky prices!!! I should take the stance of 'pets are family, price shouldn't matter for their care' however, for me, it's about the VALUE. If I felt I received my money's worth and wasn't treated so horribly when I ask for clarification or explanation, this would be a different review. The bill is one issue, which I am disputing with the credit card company. The lack of professionalism is another. I requested the 'hospital manager' to call me to get some explanation or clarification why the final bill included items like 'intravenous catheters' and 'IV Pump Administration' for our dogs which by admission on my voicemail 3 of our dogs didn't receive the benefit of but were charged for. When I asked for clarification and discussion for my concerns, I was asked where they could send records and informed me 'apparently we aren't the vet for you'. Is that what you tell a customer that in the past 2 months has spent over $3000?!? You are correct sir, Altitude is NOT the vet for us or our dogs!!! If you value your fur babies, sanity and wallet, I would recommend you seek veterinary care ELSEWHERE!! read more

In June I adopted a rescue. 4 days later, clearly ill I called my regular vet beginning of day and told would work in on emergency basis. $200 charge! Frantic I called Altitude... they immediately said bring him in now! Over the next 5 weeks Saylor battled 3 separate illnesses... all life threatening. Dr Bell and crew were wonderful to him and me as well as I struggled with decisions. Today a clean bill of health!.. can't thank these wonderful people enough! read more

The staff is very friendly! Dr Martin has been very throughout in my dogs evaluation. She explained things in a way that we understood what was going on. Even when we just had appointments with a tech to get my dogs blood drawn, she came out and explained the results to us. We have seen Dr. Schoonover for our elderly cat, and she has also been very kind and understanding. Couldn't recommend this vet more! read more

I have/had been going to Altitude for over 2 years. Just in the last year I have spent almost 2,000 dollars there for my pets' needs. Although expensive, I paid my bills in full at every appointment. The one time I didn't pay at time of service, (not because I didn't have the money) they sent me a bill in the mail and charged me for billing. There were multiple occasions where I felt like I was being taken advantage when it came to money, but I wanted the best care for my pets. After my last experience, I will no longer be taking my animals to Altitude. Last week one of my fur baby's was sick and not doing well, I called that day and came in (which I was charged extra for). After some xrays and an ultrasound, It was determined that there was nothing they could do and they would have to euthanize. I was distraught and crying, but they brought Gizmo back in the room so that I could say my goodbyes. Almost immediately, a girl comes in the room expecting payment... the bill was about 470 dollars. I told her I didn't have the money to pay in full (I had just got back from vacation) but would pay a portion that day and the rest of Friday when I got paid (this was on a Wednesday). She told me to wait while she went and asked her boss if that was ok, a few minutes later her boss comes in and tells me that they won't accept payments, but I could apply for "scratch pay" and they would check my credit. I was confused and asked if it was some kind of credit card. That's when my boyfriend pulled out his card to pay for it... after the bill was paid, THEN they came in to euthanize. Thank god he was there... if not, how much longer would my poor baby had to have suffered? Would they have even helped me out if I didn't qualify for whatever this "scratch pay" is? I had my suspicions, but now I KNOW that they care more about getting money in their pocket than they do your animals. I had surgery scheduled for my dog here in a few weeks (which is $1,000 more than I was originally told). I will be holding off and finding a new vet who cares more about animals than the cash. read more

Absolutely expensive. Took a pup in for shots and they charged me 170 which is fine that's not the issue the issue is I go in 2 weeks later and they charge me an additional 108 dollars including 45 for another exam that I just paid 2 weeks prior. I can go literally anywhere in Wyoming and get all shots and exam done for 150 dollars.would not recommend this place. read more

I'm am new to Casper and when I began looking for a veterinarian, there were several veterinary clinics in town to choose from. Having driven by the facility many times, I was impressed by the attention to presentation on the outside so I figured this impression carried on to the inside. I was Certainly impressed by the professional staff, comfortable waiting area and attention to the customers. Watching the way the staff interacted with the animals confirmed that I was in the right place. My appointment went smoothly with full attention to the health of my dog. This place is terrible!! I brought my dog in on a emergency visit my vet was full! The Vet told me I would need to keep him there for a few days with a cost of 1500.00 for stomach issues! I had to pay upfront! So I left and called my vet in tears. He fit me in and with antibiotics and mediated food my dog was better in 2 days. The lady vet at Altitude also told me he could have complications my vet said only horses get!!! Probably to scare me so I would pay the high amount!! My vet charged me 125.00 for meds and food plus visit! I will never deal with Altitude again! read more
