We can't say enough how much we loved to work with the Altmixes! Our photographer was the first vendor we booked (after the venue) because we really wanted to make sure they fit our style. We loved Altmix's style from the first photo we saw, and we were blown away by the photos from our wedding, too. We decided to hire just Matt to photograph, rather than both Matt and Kate, for budget reasons. They were very flexible, though, while we figured out exactly which package we wanted. Matt worked so hard to be everywhere at once. When we got the photos, we saw that he captured the whole day - us, our families, our guests, and a lot of sweet and wonderful little moments! His style is fantastic and the photos look great - artistic and classic, and not corny at all. Kate was also wonderful in processing the photos. We couldn't be happier! We have so many amazing photos - we may need several albums to house them all! Also - the photos were ready so fast (before we even got back from our honeymoon)! Matt was also SUCH a pleasure to work with. He was kind and even-keeled and very flexible throughout. He managed to corral our rowdy, large families together for group photos in a friendly, but still effective, way. To be honest, before I getting married myself, I thought photography was a necessary, but unexciting requirement for a wedding. I'd seen the traditional albums with posed tableaus, every possible permutation of family, bridesmaids and groomsmen. Pretty standard, but worth having around to dust off for the family every once in a while. What I didn't realize at the time--but know now, thanks to duo Altmix--is that great photographers can capture moments, and that those pictures are worth cherrishing and revisiting time and again. The first time I saw Altmix Photography's work while perusing a friend's engagement photos, I was blown away. Although a few months away from getting engaged, I thought I better bookmark their website preemptively lest I miss out on a future opportunity to work with them. Once wedding planning was underway, nearly the only thing I was certain of was that I wanted Matt and Kate to photograph our wedding. Communication was fast and easy. The contract was simple to understand and reasonable. Prices were competitive given their quality and professionalism. They made an effort to know us as a couple, and to know anything that we wanted captured--whether it be an abstract idea or something specific. On our wedding day they were everywhere but completely unobtrusive. Many of my guests commented later how pleasant their interactions were. Once we received the highly anticipated photos we were ecstatic! Matt was one of four different photographers we met with when we first began our search. We selected him because he has a great personality, excellent range of style/technique and is really easy to get along with from the get go. He is open to hearing whatever ideas you might bring to the table but also know how to add in that professional touch or detail to the final product! During our engagement shoot he kept it fun and relaxed. It was also nice working with someone where it feels more like a friend than someone you hired. As far as the day of the wedding, he blended in (he even dressed for the occasion as opposed to some photographers that don't and stick out like a sore thumb) and was almost invisible while we were up at the alter. He also made time to compliment my wife on how beautiful she looked during the shots and kept any nerves at bay. He also did a great job working with some of my groomsmen that were a bit stiff and not used to being professionally photographed. Overall everyone that took part in the photographs complimented him on how easy he was to work with and take directions from. I don't know where to begin with my praise of Altmix Photography. We had an incredible experience and I would recommend Matt to anyone and everyone I know. From the initial planning to the day of the wedding, he was professional, on time and a pleasure to work with. In the midst of wedding chaos, Matt was unbelievably calm. The man was able to get 20 kids to look in the same direction for a family photo and that in and of itself was impressive. Needless to say, we were blown away by the photos. I have no idea how he was able to be in so many places at once but he did an amazing job. Matt captured our day as if he was in my mind. The moments, glances, emotions and love in each picture bring back specific memories throughout the day that we will be able to hold onto for the rest of our lives. Matt and Kate are two of the most talented people I've ever had the pleasure of working with, which says a lot considering I'm a Producer in the LA VFX industry and I see loads of professional tv and film images every day. We feel so fortunate to have been blessed by the talents of Matt and Kate Altmix through our wedding. My husband is very opinionated about the type of photographs he wanted captured at our wedding...we were not especially into the "smile and shoot" kind of photography. Altmix delivers absolutely world class, amazing photography for a reasonable price. Yes, Matt is friendly and easy to deal with, but just look at the portfolio. He'll make your wedding look like something out of a magazine (better?). He has that extra 15% that separates the good photographers from the truly legendary. He has a gift. I have no doubt he will soon join the ranks of Atlanta artists who have moved to NY or LA and live in a multi-million dollar penthouse and you won't be able to by ONE of his photos for any less than $50,000. He takes the time to get to know each couple to really capture their spirit. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the photographer. We were stunned by the number of GREAT photos (over 500) and every one of them is frame worthy. There is nothing the guy does that isn't top shelf. From the Altmix branded contract documents, to the delivery of the photos with a handmade box, printed some photos for free (didn't even ask for them) and the entire collection on a micro 3.0 USB, with a separate set of copies for web use vs. print. I have been following Matt and Kate's work since my friends' weddings 6 years ago, seriously, for 6 years. I got engaged Christmas morning 2013 and the first e-mail I sent was to the Altmixes. I told them a time frame of when I would like to get married and asked them to tell me when worked for them! I literally planned my wedding date around their availability. We met with Matt and instantly felt like we were on the same page. He was so easy to work with and truly understood what it was that we were looking for. Matt kept us up to date with what was going on and was so easy to work with. On the day of, he showed up and jumped right in. I was nervous what it was going to be like having someone follow you around taking random pictures but he made me feel at such ease. He has an eye for amazing shots and scenes. He scoped out the grounds surrounding our church before we got there to find "hidden gems" and that they were! Some of my favorite images came from a wooded driveway across the street from the church. I love the energy that they were able to capture in the images. I can't recommend Altmix Photography highly enough! I first heard of Altmix Photography via a tagged photo on facebook, of one of my friends from a photobooth that they did at a wedding. We weren't engaged yet, but I knew we would be very soon ;) I clicked around facebook, and then Matt & Kate's website, and that was all it took. Such gorgeous images. When we got engaged I contacted Altmix Photography and didn't even consider anyone else! We met with Matt & Kate to learn more about their services over a couple of beers and snacks, and we really enjoyed meeting them. These guys are absolutely amazing. They recently photographed my wedding and my husband and I couldn't be more thrilled with the pictures we were given. Matt and Kate were with us all day and we were given over a 1000 pictures from our wedding day. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful Matt and Kate are!! My husband and I are so thrilled with both our engagement and wedding photos. Matt and Kate Altmix (Altmix Photography) are amazing wedding photographers. They photographed my wedding in early March, and the photos are beautiful. Their photojournalistic style makes you feel like you are right there living the moments again when you look at the photos. They manage to capture all of those inbetween moments when you are not standing there posing for a photo. What stands out most in their photographs is their talent with light and composition. They are wonderfully professional and during the wedding managed to capture amazing photos while remaining almost invisible to the guests.
