A grand hotel with old European splendor and charm. Wonderful service from all staff, restaurants, housekeeping and front desk. Convenient location to fabulous restaurants and shops. Rooms could use a light upgrade but they had character. We stayed in a suite on the top floor -11th- which had an adjoining living room area. The netting on the balcony was a bit odd and kind of ruined any photos but i could take them from the hotels roof top bar on our floor. Dont miss the smoked ice cream at the Alvear Grill. Spa and massage were nice. Big deep jacuzzi will cool metal bar seating. .

This hotel was one of the highlights of my stay in Buenos Aires. The location is perfect and there are great small local restaurants nearby. But I must say the service, food, and drinks in the Lobby Bar really made it easy to just stay in and relax after a day of walking around the area. The staff was incredible and always happy to make sure everything you need is provided. The spa facilities are great. I did not have any services but enjoyed relaxing in the pool and spa at the end of the day. My room was very comfortable with a great amount of space. I hope I have a chance to return to this beautiful city again soon.

The Alvear Palace Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels around the world. The hotel features magnificent architecture & decor, it is recognized worldwide for its unparalleled combination of hospitality & personalized service.

Elegant and gracious, exuding an old world charm from a bygone era. Had wine and canapés in the lobby bar while waiting for the restaurant L'Orangerie to open for lunch..wonderful and attentive service! Unfortunately, can't say the same for their restaurant L'Orangerie.. when I finally went over for lunch the hostess there was very rude and abrupt even though the place was almost completely empty.. she should be fired for doing their very beautiful restaurant a grave injustice! I was so put off by her attitude that I eschewed the lunch there n went somewhere else!

Where oh where is the TEN STAR rating, YELP? This hotel not only resets all expectations, but it also includes a time machine experience to a time of more refined and gracious living. Enter the magnificent Alvear Palace Hotel and you probably have walked into the grandest hotel you will ever experience. Opened in 1932, this hotel was designed in the Belle Époque style of grandeur for Europeans visiting Buenos Aires. Lucky for us, the hotel has somehow maintained its luxury and style though the decades. Marble floors, gold-gilted ceilings, mirrors, antiques, wait staff with white gloves, every language spoken- an air of grace and charmed never encountered anymore. Our room was a simple king standard and it was perfect in every way. High ceilings, gorgeous appointments, a chandelier in pristine condition dangling over the bed that had just the softest sheets ever. 6 piece bathroom, with a Tv over the bath- which I made sure to use. "House" in spanish in a luxury hotel jet tub is sometimes just the thing...Rooms were kept in pristine condition, with little foot linens laid down at night alone with the wee little box of chocolates. I could get used to this! I also tried the spa facilities on level -2: A river stone foot bath, a huge hot tub with stainless seating and infinity pool, a dry sauna a steam room. A few hours were lost down there... There is also a pool, but be warned it doesn't open until 1:00pm pretty much like everything in Argentina. There is also a lifeguard, which is somewhat creepy when you're the only person down there! Back up at the lobby level, there is a Champagne Lounge, a bar (try the local sparking wine in lieu of champagne), L'Orangerie, greenhouse naturally lit restaurant, and an arcade full of stores selling Rolexes and sparky baubles. And Hermes is across the street. A good time window shopping for sure! The concierge made a few reservations for us, but we mostly used the 5 star hotel as base camp for our more modest wanderings to the museums, the cemetery, the sidewalk cafes and the abundant fine dining options that the Recoleta holds in store. A wonderful wonderful place- I hope I have the good fortune to return one day!

    Lobby bar. Beautiful.

This hotel is probably one of the nicest I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Others have detailed the history of this wonderful hotel so I will not repeat except to say that the old world charm and graciousness that I am sure existed here in the 1930s is still here today. From The white glove service to the heartfelt "Buenos Dias" from every staffer is what five star service should be. And just to discuss pedigree for a moment, Larry has stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world, from the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and Siem Reap in Cambodia to the Langham in Pasadena to the Ritz Carlton in Double Bay, Sydney (where the concierge found someone to rent Larry a Fat Boy Hog for a two day ride to to the blue mountains) to the penthouse at the Four Seasons in Manhattan. Larry knows spanky hotels, plus the occasional Holiday Inn Express just for grounding. Oh where the heck was I going? Ah yes. The hotel itself has gilded finishes from the 1930s, beautiful architectural columns and enuf brass and gold leaf to keep a hundred midshipmen busy 24/7. Plus marble floors, gorgeous carpets and beautiful high ceilings. Larry had a wonderful suite here with two rooms, one a sitting area and the other a bedroom with a bed so large that a regulation soccer match could have been played on the mattress. Frette sheets, starched. Awesome! The bathroom had a huge shower with water pressure akin to the base of Niagara Falls and a whirlpool tub with a TV AND A HOUSE PHONE!! When was the last time you saw that, Sports Fans? Oh, and a bidet. Not sure what that is, exactly, but them dogs would have loved it for their water bowl. Had a fridge but no coffee maker which could have been a problem until I realized you can go downstairs any time and get a huge cuppa to take away. Anytime. Did I mention the full menu 24 hour room service and the 24 hour housekeeping on top of the twice daily room cleaning and freshening? Also the little doilies next to the bed for your bare feets. Or the free room service coffee and croissants delivered at 3am as Larry was jet lagged? Or the amazing dining room staff like Paloma as well as Paulo and Juan Pablo, all of whom remembered our breakfast orders from day one,and served me bottomless cups of coffee. Or the amazing concierge staff who drummed up reservations at Roux, the trendiest restaurant in the city? No papers in English? No worries, the Hotel provides a free subscription to the app PressReader that had a zillion English language papers on line. Larry had never seen that before. Yes the rooms are sold in dollars and not cheap. A twelve day stay here was about 8 grand, but that's just how big Larry rolls. Centrally located in this wonderful, walkable city. Stay for a couple of days; you will be spoiled for life. Oh yes, of course Chuck Schumer, Senate Dood was staying here on his first vacation in two years. He had the good fortune to meet the Larrys. Loved us big time. Come on down.

Based on the sunday afternoon tea. The setting is very nice, the service so so and the food is absolutely terrible. The tea selection is OK. Go for the experience of tea in a nice hotel but don't expect delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones. They serve everything of course but it is just bad, i didn't really enjoy a single thing even though most was edible.

Everything about this hotel is first rate: the location, the service, the quarters, the restaurants and service. We were lucky enough to snag 4-nights on points because this is an IHG Hotel and we are IHG Spire Elite Members. The service here is extraordinary. Need tickets to a nearby Tango show? You'll get help at the front desk for bookings and the hotel will arrange for a hotel van to take you over and back. Need a ride to the port to take the high-speed catamaran from B.A. to Montivideo? No problem. The hotel will arrange for a taxi to take you there. Want to get out of the hotel and stop at a Starbucks, a cafe, a pharmacy, or just take a walk around? No worries. The hotel is smack-dab in middle of where all of the action is in the downtown B.A. area. Want to go out at night? The staff will caution you about security and help you make arrangements. Street security can be dodgy in B.A. at night. If you're in B.A., this is a great place to stay. Go and enjoy!

The location is perfect -- central and convenient -- but what truly made our experience unforgettable was the fabulous service across the board. We stayed in a king room that (albeit on the smaller side) felt spacious with high ceilings, super comfortable and still so posh. The restaurant and bar exceeded our expectations, with delicious food and expertly crafted drinks that kept us coming back throughout our stay. What stood out the most was the staff. From the attendants to the concierge and everyone at the restaurant/bar (and breakfast bar), they were warm, professional, and endlessly accommodating -- always ready to help with directions or small requests. They even let us store our bags and use the gym space to freshen up before our departure, which made a huge difference on a long travel day. In short, Hotel Savoy made us feel at home and well taken care of. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Buenos Aires, and we'll definitely be back!

The Concierge and Main Lobby desks are easily accessible for questions, check-in, luggage storage, etc. All of the staff that I interacted with at both of these desks were efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. I noticed that during the middle of the day, there would be an infused water stand in the lobby near the Main Lobby desk. I really enjoyed being able to have a refreshing lemon water upon my return from the very, very warm outdoors. There is some additional seating around the lobby along with a grab-n-go place named Croutons and the entrance to El Faro, the location of included or unincluded breakfast, also offering lunch buffet and dinner for a fee. The hotel also has a small gift shop, an outdoor pool, fitness center, executing lounge, business center and meeting rooms. I saw that they also offer EV parking. I didn't have the opportunity to use any of the amenities during my stay so I can't really speak to their level of sufficiency or convenience. I can only say that everything looked to be well-managed and cared for. I stayed in rooms with 2-Queen beds; they are very spacious, comfortable and reasonably quiet. The rooms include a long couch, a table with 2 chairs, a divider to separate the sleeping area from the entrance-bathroom-closet-storage area, a coffee-tea bar and a small refrigerator. The bathrooms are also very spacious, offering a shower separate from a full-size soaking tub and quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand-soap and lotion. Where do I even begin?!?!…read more We recently spent 10 days in Argentina for our honeymoon and stayed at The Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires during that leg of our trip. Located in the Recoleta neighborhood surrounded by various museums, historical landmarks restaurants, and shopping boutiques all in walking distance, this hotel was an excellent "home base" for us getting around the city, and for simply relaxing to enjoy our honeymoon. We checked in after spending a total of 14 hours in the air, first from Miami to New York City, then from New York City down to Buenos Aires. This was actually our first ever stay at a Four Seasons branded property, so we weren't sure what to expect. We were congratulated by the Front Desk staff right away for our marriage and celebrating our subsequent honeymoon with them. They were extremely thorough in getting us maps for our use. and printing out the itinerary I had made with their concierge for the week ahead, including a tour and several restaurant reservations we had. There was a small snag with our Mansion View King Room and the staff offered to change us to another room that they were getting ready. In the meantime, they held our luggage while we were able to enjoy the pool on a warm Buenos Aires day. The pool area itself was very nice with plenty of staff members around, eager to help with pool chair and umbrella service. The outdoor pool at The Four Seasons is one of the few, if not the only, outdoor hotel pool areas in the city. There was plenty of sunscreen and water stations for us to use, and the pool itself was a very comfortable size. After about 2 hours, our new room was ready. We were informed that we were being moved to a Mansion View Junior Suite with E-Lounge access. Honestly, this change/upgrade exceeded even our wildest expectations! This wasn't something we were looking for when the staff acknowledged the issue our original room had, and has made us Four Seasons fans for life. The Junior Suite itself (Room 809) was spacious. We had a nicely laid our living room area that divided the living area from the sleeping area. Don't even get me started on those Four Seasons beds-- probably the best sleep either of us ever had in our life! The bathrooms are nicely appointed and also included a TV in the mirror (a first for me). The E-Lounge area was our go-to spot for breakfast. Every morning, they carried a variety of fresh fruits, coffee, fruit juices, pastries, and yogurts. In the late afternoon, they switched their offerings out for little sandwiches and wraps, snack bites like chips, charcuterie, and were always stocked with a bottle of red and white wine for visitors to enjoy. It also had a very nice outdoor balcony with a seating area to enjoy views out to Recoleta. Dinner at Elena was FANTASTIC (more on that in a separate review), and the service was exemplary and arguably the best we've experience at any hotel so far. They helped us understand how to best get around (Uber is very easy to use in Argentina) and other pointers on where to eat and other points of interest. Most places in Recoleta and Palermo either have some sort of public wifi or have easy access to a cafe or bar where you can connect to order your ride share. Although we were very excited to check out Patagonia, we were very sad to leave the Four Seasons Buenos Aires. We had a very fulfilling 4 day stay that also somehow did not feel like enough because of how well we were taken care of. As I said before, this was our first stay at a Four Seasons hotel, and now we are customers/believers for life! Should it make sense on future travels, they will be our hotel of choice. And certainly in Buenos Aires, they made an impression on us that will last a lifetime! Thank you, Charo Muro, Gianlucca Casazza, Milagros Araujo, and so many others for making our honeymoon stay so relaxing and memorable!

As with other properties in this chain, service is their hallmark from the bell staff to the front desk to the pool attendants and housekeepers. Everyone seems centered on ensuring your satisfaction. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated in a beige color pallet and it felt classy. Despite overlooking the freeway (aka "city view") it was pretty quiet. The AC was quiet yet powerful enough to take on the strong southern sunshine in late January, although like more and more hotels, the ability to lower the temperature in the room below 21 (72) was an illusion. As someone who sleeps more soundly in a cooler room, I find this annoying. The bathroom featured a large modern soaking tub along with a full shower and segregated toilet area with bidet. The only disappointment was the lack of double sink. The overhead rain shower delivers an extraordinary amount of water -don't look up for risk of drowning! It's almost like standing under a fire hose and felt very indulgent. We spent a couple of hours at the smart outdoor pool with its ample staff ready to set up chairs and provide shade as needed. Drinks and food can be ordered at the pool as well. The pool itself was refreshing and be sure to note that it drops off rather quickly to 6-8 feet or more. We dined at Elena, the highly regarded restaurant in the hotel-twice for dinner and again for breakfast which was included in our room rate. The morning buffet was lavish with breads, cheeses, salumi, eggs and much more. No one is going hungry here. Finally, the WiFi in the room (202) and lobby and pool were all rather weak and slow by today's standards-very surprising given the quality of the hotel. We enjoyed our short stay.

It's in a tourist-friendly part of town, easily walkable to restaurants and local attractions, and it has quite a lovely main entry, bar, and pool patio. But the hotel itself has major drawbacks both in service and room quality. I experienced a laissez-faire delay in my check-in (with my keys lying visible on one person's desk but no updates given to anyone else on staff, despite my repeated inquiries), which was not particularly appreciated after a long-haul journey, and the layout of my room was narrow and unpleasant. The bathroom was not a separate walled-off space but instead a glass cubicle within the main room, just feet from the bed and tight on space. Inside the bath cubicle, to achieve privacy it was necessary to close the door on the glass wall and then draw velvet curtains from both left and right. In using the shower, it was not possible to utilize the drying mat provided or reach a towel easily, as the glass door to the shower opened out toward the sink, hitting the mat and making it impossible to reach the towel hook. Drainage at the shower was also a little iffy. The toilet area involved yet another glass door, again making privacy an issue and further truncating the space, with all three glass doors opening in toward the sink. It was quite difficult to use the facilities at night without waking a partner in the room (since turning on a light in the glass-wall cubicle was not viable). The room itself had a bit of Old World charm -- a bit outdated in style and tired from wear but attractive overall despite missing basics such as larger nightstands, a clock, etc. While there are surely beautiful suites to be had at the Faena, the standard room falls short and, unfortunately, feels a bit substandard instead.

Our room package included a daily breakfast in the restaurant. It's a buffet setup but you can also order a few specialty items off the menu. It was a rather opulent buffet for the boutique hotel. The cold table had a variety of oatmeals/cereals/yogurts, fruits, cold cuts, cheese and smoked salmon. The hot table offered scrambled egg, bacon, chorizo, croque monsieur, breakfast potatoes, French toasts. There were also a good variety of bakery items including toasts, medialunas, the essential alfajores, and many other dessert bits. Although you are serviced poured coffee and orange juice at your table, there is an also a coffee machine offering about 8-10 specialty coffee and hot beverage items. The juice cart also has half a dozen different juices to choose from. ' The hotel is very centrally located at the southern end of Recoleta. Most destinations are with 20 minutes to 60 minutes on foot depending on your propensity of adventuring on foot. Taxi rides are inexpensive compared to N American rates and the Subte (subway) reaches a vast area of BA and the closest station to the hotel is just a block away. We walked everywhere: 20 minutes to the heart of Recoleta (the cemetery), 30 minutes to Plaza de Mayo, 45 minutes to Palermo and about 60 minutes to Puerto Madero. San Telmo is about 60 minutes on foot but we opted to take a taxi (called by the front desk for us) that morning. The hotel billed us in ARS so it was great for us after converting to CAD due to the prevalent exchange rate. I would stay at the Palladio again in heart beat.

We stayed here a year ago and it was just as amazing and awe-inspiring as the last time. Last year we stayed in the newer building of the hotel, but this time we got to stay in the Palacio, and it was every bit as wonderful as I had imagined. We got to stay in a suite that had a great view of the Maison next door and every touch in our suite was dripping with opulence and chic details. I know it's odd to point out the door handles, but oh my word, the door handles were so nice! As with all stays at Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau, you get access to some great views. The courtyard view is mind-blowingly stunning. The grounds are so meticulously landscaped. We had breakfast every morning onsite at Giola. To get there from the Palacio, you can walk through the subterranean art gallery and just be blown away by how such a special, unique place exists. Palacio Duhau is also well located in Recoleta. We started many of our adventures walking from the hotel to our destinations; another perk of this hotel. In the realm of luxury hotels, Park Hyatts are hard to beat- it truly feels like a vacation staying at such a nice property where everything comes together so beautifully. We'll definitely be back!

The breakfast buffet in Goia is outstanding and they also allow you to order an entree off the menu. My daughter ordered the scrumptious French toast twice during our trip. We had dinner at Duhau and it was one of the most memorable meals we have had. The pumpkin- filled pasta and vanilla cake dessert were truly outstanding. On our next stay to Buenos Aires, I would love to stay in the original palace building.

It seems that everyday restaurants around the square setup seating so you can dine and enjoy the weather. There are people who will come up to you and try to sell you things, but ignore them and they will go away. The hotel also has a nicely decorated wine bar and restaurant on the lower level. It was never busy and the food and wine there was very good. And the location has cobblestone roads and there are cafes and wine shops galore! There are also an over abundance of gift shops so you can find whatever you may desire. On the negative side, the hotel room bathroom sometimes smelled of sewage (not great), the shower didn't drain well so you found yourself standing in a mini pool for your toes, and they didn't give any wash clothes. They have one sponge to bathe with, but one isn't quite enough when you have more than one person in the room with you. My wife and I love each other, but we tend not to want to share a bathing sponge! It's not quite like sharing a toothbrush but close enough! Overall, the good outweighed the bad, and it is a cool place to stay for a short trip.

They allowed an early checkin which was greatly appreciated as we arrived on international flight at 10am. Great to get a quick nap and rest up. Can't go wrong with Curio as American when visiting a country you are not familiar with. I have stayed at several and have always thought they do a good job
