This is the worst dentist in Lufkin. They have been negligent with my elderly father. They cancel appointments and randomly close constantly. I called today 1/16/25 and asked to be seen because my VERY FRONT TOOTH that is a crown has popped off. An emergency no doubt! And I was told they couldn't see me because they were fixing to close!!!! I am literally mixing my front tooth!!! And they expect me to wait till Monday to have it fixed! i am very dissapointed with this dentist.she started working on my teeth.she pulled 3 teeth and told me it was going to be 2 1/2 mo's. before i could get another appointment. my teeth are real bad and i called them about a month or so later and told them my teeth were really hurting me bad and the lady up front just told me they were booked up needless to say i was not happy. the receptionest was rude and very unprofessionable. i will never go back there or refer them to anyone.i have much more to say but i believe i have made myself clear.... read more

I found the whole staff including the dentist very pleasant. My ambition was to get dentures. Upper extractions went well and painless. Then things went wrong. There seem to be some issues between the dentist and the lab that makes the dentures. Back and forth a few times. After 2 months of mistakes I asked if we could just separate and get my money back for the denture of which I had already paid $1,500. Dentist and staff was pleasant and refunded the $1,500 on the spot. Extractions were fairly expensive but they did an excellent job. Tomorrow off to Mexice to get a lower bridge and upper denture for $300. Only takes them 2 days. Needed to hit Mexico for some of my more expensive meds anyway and some doctors will no longer prescribe in the US. I would recommend Affordable for just about anything but dentures. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Gochnour's for several years and she is one of the most caring and skilled doctors I see. She takes the time to make me feel comfortable, explains her procedures each step of the way and her dental fees are very reasonable. And, since the front office staff was recently replaced, the office personnel are friendly and courteous. I think Dr. Gochnour truly deserved the Best Dentist of the Year award that she received early this year. read more

I wish there was a no star choice. I read all of the prior reviews of this place and I should have known better. I needed a tooth pulled since the first day they looked at my teeth and did the x-rays a month ago. Now my appointment date is 2 days away and I've been rescheduled for another month away. Wow, I don't think so. Now I have to start over somewhere else and I pat to have all the xrays and again. Thanks for nothing. Who cares hiw affordable you are if you can't get your teeth taken care of when you need it. Totally unreliable. read more

Dr. G and her new staff are wonderful!! Very helpful always smiling and got to me and my son fast. The office is very very nice, very clean, and all of the newest and latest equipment! I have referred several friends and family and they have all been happy and will continue using her in the future. I highly recommend using her as your dentist!! read more

3/28/13 2:25pm: Signed in, filled out paper work... 4:10pm: I went to the sign in desk and asked, "How long?" A very rude desk clerk replied, "How long for what?" I said, "How long for me? My appointment was at 2:30." She said "What's your name... hold on I will find out for you." This desk clerk was with a client so she asked a nursed to check, that nurse asked my name and disappeared, after a few seconds the desk clerk asked me if the nurse had checked I said no she said I'll go check for you real quick. Both seemed flustered by me questioning. The nurse then came back and told me less than 10 minutes. Meanwhile I needed to be going to pay for my mom's tabs for her car so I went to my car to get the phone number to find out whether or not the tab office is open on good Friday, the next day. When I come right back into the dentist office a nurse opens the door and calls me back as I'm making my phone call she tells me I must shut my phone off before I go back I said ok give me just a minute as I walk over to the entrance I hear the rude desk clerk say "Ma'am, are you going to go back if not they are going to take the next customer?" Not even 30 seconds have gone by; I looked over at her without a smile and said just a minute. Becoming increasingly frustrated I hung up my phone before I could get thru the automated message and I shut my phone off and went back over to the door. Once I was on my way to the x-ray room the nurse then apologized and explained that they were shorthanded and 2 1/2 hours behind schedule. 4:25pm: After my x-rays she took me to a room where she kindly told me she would try to have the dentist in the room as soon as she could but they were still behind so it may be a few minutes. 4:40pm: The dentist came in introduced herself apologized for the wait and then said just a minute she needed to do more paperwork on the computer behind me...then she showed me some things on my x-ray. She then looked around inside my mouth for a minute or two. She then said a nurse with be in shortly to discuss what my insurance would cover and how much my two fillings would cost me. 4:50pm: a nurse came in let me know the cost and then said unfortunately since it was almost 5:00 I needed to make an appointment to actually have them filled. I followed her out to the front desk where I sat in front of a polite desk clerk. She said Tuesday at 9? I told her I needed to go get my work schedule out of my car. I tell her I have Wednesday off she said Wednesday is our busiest day its orthoday...and Friday? She said they're only half days fillings can't be scheduled. Then I stood up and said it looks like I'll have to go somewhere else, she said hold on...went around the wall over to the rude desk clerk spoke with her came back and said they could take me if I came in straight after work on Monday. read more

After a lengthy wait and alerted my mom was a diabetic, they took her back. However, upon giving her a shot and saying they'd be back, the shot wore off and they were going to give her a new shot. The dentist then said, "I don't think I'm going to work on you." Very unprofessional dentist. Staff was average. Inconsiderate, immature, and discourteous dentist. read more

I wasted two days of work at the place and didn't even get past reception. They were rude and lazy. The first time I went up there they failed to tell me I needed a release from my doctor before I could see the dentist. I spent a whole week on the phone with one of them and you would think she would mention it. I spent the rest of the day since I couldn't be seen trying to get my dr's signature which of course I got too late. I rescheduled. I went there the second time and the receptionist glanced at it for literally two seconds and said "we can't accept this." I asked her why if it was the same thing and it had her signature on it, Just because it didn't have check marks and it was written out in letter form shouldn't mean anything. She didn't even look at me and just said "it has to be one of our forms" I was already so upset I just left. I will NOT be recommending them or going back, and if you look at other website reviews apparently the reception is a BIG problem. read more
