SCAM ALERT! Watch out for this guy! Each time he receives a bad review, he will change (albeit slightly) his website, e-mail, phone and company name. My experience: Called him for a quote on removing 3 trees and trimming 3 others at my West Chester property. Also asked that he bring with him or e-mail me copies proving that he has insurance and workers comp coverage. The day of the quote came and a number of reds flags were present: 1. Showed up an hour late for the appointment. Did not apologize or even make an excuse. 2. Did not bring or e-mail proof of insurance/workers comp. 3. Offered a very low price. Each time you said you weren't sure, he would lower it $25 and emphasize that he was the lowest price in the area. 4. Will push and push for you to schedule it for the following morning (so you don't research him or obtain other quotes). 5. After telling him I would be obtaining other quotes, he went on a tangent about how other companies take so long to come out for an estimate so you should go with his next-day service. 6. Even after telling him you don't want them to come the following day, he will keep saying things like "so I will put the work-order in for tomorrow?" "so I'll tell the guys to get started at 8." and "we'll be here first thing in the morning." 7. Each time I would ask for proof of insurance/workers comp, he would change the conversation (usually to his restored car that he drove that day). He will never send the documents to you. 8. He will do everything he can to avoid giving you a WRITTEN quote. His favorite phrase/excuse is "well, my secretary just had a baby so she cannot get quotes typed out" and "if I gave written quotes to all my customers, I would be doing nothing but writing quotes." 9. He will eventually agree to e-mail a quote to you. I asked him to do it there in the driveway. He typed up a very vague e-mail on his phone. Halfway through the e-mail, he would accidentally send it saying he is new to smart phones. he would then type up the other half and send it in a separate e-mail. Now, conveniently for him, the description is in one e-mail and the price is in the other. 10. Will spend at most 5 minutes looking at your yard. He would either be unsure of the tree species or name the wrong one. Bottom line: THIS GUY WILL USE EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK! DON'T FALL FOR IT! ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS: 1. Obtain multiple quotes 2. DEMAND a hard copy of proof of insurance and workers comp coverage. 3. Obtain customer references and follow up with them. 4. Get a detailed estimate IN WRITING!! 5. Remember, if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. AM Tree is a no bones "good ole fashion hand shake"..it was great from the start and continued though out!!! Mike the owner is a clear speaking ,nice, honest ,"do what you say kinda guy". He came to my home to give his FREE estimate explained what they were going to do in detail. I thought he set the bar pretty high and set expectations that seemed tough to meet but met every promise !!Right down to sending a guy back the next morning across town to pick up a couple of small dead branches that had fallen on the other side of a tall privacy fence that couldn't be seen. I was at work and my elderly neighbor called, I called Mike ,branches gone ! Oh the cool part was receiving the hand written invoice and each call I made was answered immediately by MIKE not some automated voice or secretary .He restored my faith in mankind with a kind ,friendly,and old school work ethic. read more

Overgrown, invasive, ornamental grass removal. Amazing service from all - Wish I could give more stars!! Mike answered the phone on the first call, had his team out to look at the job and give an estimate the very same day. Came back the next day so I could make sure we were on the same page as there were many clumps of ornamental grasses that I wanted removed. Once I agreed to their price quote, the team got to work - THAT DAY! They finished the job in the dark & I was skeptical at how well one can work in the dark, but it was perfect! They cleaned up everything, hauled all the unwanted grasses & debris away. Team was VERY friendly, polite, professional, and respectful. Hired AM to remove a 40' tree in my small back yard that was right on the neighbors fence, my garage and almost touching a power line. On top of all that was leaning about 80 degrees toward my garage. Mike saw this as a emergency and treated it as such. With extreme urgency he took it on him self to have his crew out with in a hour and got it down safely. This was a tough job and Mike and his crew couldn't have handled them self's more professionally and safely. I can only say good old style customer service and professionalism is a rare thing these days and AM has it down. Mike's crew took down a tree last year, stacked the wood and ground the stump. After cleaning up the chips, this Spring, I noticed that some of the stump and roots still remained. This was tough for the guys to see originally as the tree stump was large and created a mound of chips hiding the remaining stump and roots. I called Mike yesterday and he had his guy come back out today to finish grinding. No shifty business. I'd recommend AM Tree and Landscape to anyone looking for this type of service. This company is the only tree service we're going to use! They were efficient, professional, polite, and extremely knowledgeable about how and when to trim 8 of our trees. They checked with us as they were trimming to make sure we were all in agreement and we're great at answering our questions. Clean was wonderful and Mike even called us the next day to make sure everything was okay. The bonus was that it was a very, very reasonable price! Everyone was very polite and very kind and they went out of their way to ensure they did a great job. This was no easy job either. My wife and I were both extremely happy with them and the service. These guys are outstanding. I did not know the owner prior to calling for an estimate. He came out to my house promptly, and have two very large maples trees cut down, hauled away, and both stumps ground down below grade with 1 day. On top of that they were less expensive that 5 other quotes I received. I will definitely use them for landscape work in the future. I recommend Mike and his team very highly. read more
