I took my son to write the learner's license exam. I was charged fifty cents to use my debit card…read moreto pay. He passed the exam so I had to pay another fifty cents for the license itself. There is signage saying they do not take credit cards. A busy location raking in fifty cents every time someone uses their debit card with no options other than cash. Obviously the owner of this business is trying to be a rebel of some kind by this type of action. Before I hear "I do this because of the fees the banks/credit card companies charge" please don't waste your breath. This is a money grab and makes you, the owner and decision-maker look like a cheapskate. Also, there is an air of indifference in this place that is not attractive. The gloomy decor matches the attitudes and the policies. Will definitely not be going back and won't encourage anyone I know to either.

Unbelievable! I'm a senior and I phoned and asked if I could receive the senior discount refund on…read morea change of car from a dealership. They said yes, just bring in the receipt to get the 25% discount which is $5. I came in with my licence, receipt insurance and stood in line. A woman came through the line (Elaine) and asked everybody what they wanted and when she came, I told her and she said ok just show the person at the till everything: receipts, drivers, license, insurance. And I waited in line some more and came to a person at the till and she said she wanted to double check if they would be able to give me the $5 seniors discount. I man came out and he said that I would have to go all the way to Cochrane 56 km one way -112 km total,(where the dealership was) since they would be out $5 and Cochrane deals with their own registry. They didn't want to be out the $5, (even though I explained again I called first and also that the woman who talked to the lineup said just show them all the paperwork at the till). The man left and said he would look for the woman (Elaine). I suspect he wanted to give her a heads up that they weren't going to give me the $5 seniors discount, so that when I saw her she was prepared. Then when I saw her she changed her story - denied what she said earlier and changed it to 'I told you they would decide at the till'. All this to save the inconvenience of giving me the discount (after I was told I would get it). This is beyond believable, that for $5 which I was entitled to they would treat a senior this way. I'm going to go to another registry close by (with higher customer service ratings) and I bet anything they will give me the $5 discount.

Heads up for anyone booking a drivers' exam, the online portal for drivers' license bookings says…read moreto arrive 30min before the test, with the earliest slot being 9:00, but the registry opens at 9:00. I arrived at 8:30am for my 9:00am slot. The email you get emphasizes the importance of punctuality. By following this direction, I was apparently needlessly early. Staff got there around 8:45, which was fine, but I think either the email or booking system needs to be adjusted--for example, the first slot could be placed at 9:15 or 9:30. This would probably be better for staff too. This created a sense of confusion before the test (wondering if they had received my booking or the test would make me late getting back to work), and also wasted my friend's time who had taken the time to get up early and come with me. I also got hit with an extra charge for using my credit card when renewing my registration on an earlier day. Staff/examiners are overall polite. I've lived in provinces where the registries are not privatized, and have found the service to be more organized with more transparent pricing.

A…read morecounter clerk there (Hable) told me that I only need a "basic" road test to get my driver's license back. I got the test right away with the examiner Ken (who was also kind and knowledgeable) and got my license quickly back. Furthermore, Hable helped me to get 140$ back from the UNLIMITED REGISTERY in northeast Calgary because they didn't know the law and charged me more and put me on a wrong road test (they put me on an advanced road test! and charged me 147$!!!). thank you Hable Thank you Ken

Customer service did not provide a satisfactory reason for the increase and the communication was frustrating. I understand insurance rates can change, but customers deserve transparency and fair treatment. I expected better service and clearer information before such a large increase in payment, they robbed me whit $339. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

The staff I dealt with were friendly and knowledgeable, their fees are reasonable, and the investment options performed well. Unfortunately, my experience with a withdrawal/transfer request has been extremely disappointing. I submitted the transfer order in early December, and as of April 10--over four months later--the process remains incomplete. While the advisory and investment side appears strong, what good is an investment advisor or portfolio if you cannot access or transfer your money in a reasonable timeframe? Liquidity and reliable execution are fundamental to financial services, and this significant delay has caused me considerable frustration and inconvenience. Because of this experience, I would advise potential clients to carefully consider Co-operators for their financial services needs, especially if timely access to funds may be required.
