We actually got referred to this broker by a friend of my husbands who works at the Fish Creek Nissan dealership who uses this broker for their car sales. I love it when I get someone on the phone right away, like a human without the robo menu is a bonus for me, so they started off right. The receptionist was super nice, listened to my concerns and gave me some feedback and was a total professional, she transferred me to a broker in the office and he was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely pleasant to deal with and obviously knew the industry very well. He took some info and started an application for me and said he would get back to me by the end of the day and if he got busy he would have his assistant get back to me. Bonus points, a pretty solid human receptionist and assistant who would actually talk to me by the end of the day...ok, ok, I see you. By the end of the day I not only got a call back, the insurance was quoted LESS than what I was paying with TD and decided to add my car to get a better rate. I didn't even have to go in to the office, everything was done though phone and email and a pink card was emailed to me shortly afterwards. If I had to pay more, I would still use this office; its small but in a good way and I found out they also have an office in Edmonton. They remember you when you call, and send you emails keeping you informed-always a good sign and tells me they run a tight ship. I will never go through a bank again, it took over 6 months to settle a minor claim, but its my own fault for not shopping around, banks are in the business of making money not selling insurance so lesson learned. Kudos on being the small guys who still understand what customer service is, I will be referring friends and family here.

They silently rejected business use without notice. I never had any coverage. Yet they wanted to charge almost a full month. Thanks to my broker, we got cancellation backdated to today + charged only pro-rata for the few review days (no fee). Very disappointed. Do not recommend Intact. You sign a contract expecting your vehicle to be covered for a predetermined amount in case of total loss, but when you file a claim--whether for theft or any other reason--their Claims Representatives and Total Loss Managers will drastically underpay you. They will claim your contract isn't valid and disregard the agreed terms, offering you far less than what your vehicle is worth without providing any proof or clear explanation. First, they'll delay your claim for months with lowball offers, then ignore your calls and emails, making it nearly impossible to communicate with their representatives or file a complaint. They bully you into accepting their terms because their corrupt system, supported by upper management, is designed to exploit clients. They don't care about losing a customer today, knowing they can always find someone new to scam tomorrow. The legal system does little to protect consumers from these large insurance companies, as it is heavily influenced by them. The best way to protect yourself from such exploitation is to avoid companies like Intact altogether. Cancel your policy and boycott them, hoping that one day their unethical practices lead to their downfall.

Because I only had my learners, they would not insure me. That's crap. Other companies will. I was a bit pissed off because I'd been a long time client and they would not bend the rules at all. So I was forced to go elsewhere. This summer when my motorcycle insurance came up for renewal, I went online and got a quote. The results gave me two options: one was full everything and over $450 the other was the basic which was what I had on the bike the past year. It was under $200. So I called them up to say I want to switch over my insurance. The customer service agent was friendly and didn't try to rush even though it was close to quitting time. She was able to find my quote in the system. Then she asked if I wanted collision which she said wasn't that much more. For some reason, she gave me an extra discount so with the collision, it was pretty much the same as what I was quoted online without collision. Good deal! She asked me some questions about the bike and verified my personal information. Then which day I wanted the payment to come out of my bank account. Soon I had it all complete. She offered to email me a pink card while I was waiting for the original to come in the mail. Simple, quick, painless, and no line ups to deal with. My pink card arrived in the mail shortly after this great experience.
