San…read moreQuan is filled with so much history, so we decided to spend some time exploring Castillo San Cristóbal, a fortress located in the historic district. The main reason the fort was built was to protect the city, and is now known as the largest fortification that was built by the Spanish in the New World. My family went during the summer, so it was extremely hot, there was not a lot of shade. I would recommend bringing water, snacks, and sunblock in order to have a good time exploring the fortress. In addition, in my opinion, I would say you should be in good health to visit the fortress, because there is a lot of walking and hills. Don't be afraid to bring your children, I liked that Castillo San Cristóbal had interactive areas where children could learn about the history and the importance of the fort in a playful way. Although Castillo San Cristóbal is not free to visit: $10 for adults and under 15 is free. If you have a national park pass issued through the United States, like my family has, you can go for free, paying no additional charge. Even though admission is $10, it's worth it. My family explored the fortress for 2 hours and the views of the ocean are also beautiful. Furthermore, the staff was extremely friendly, greeting us with warm smiles. There is a public restroom for you to use located underneath the giftshop. The restroom was extremely clean with no visible dirt on the floor. If you are visiting San Juan from the cruise port Castillo San Cristóbal is about a 30 minute walk from the port, but if you would like to you could also take public transportation. My family decided to walk and see the city of San Juan instead of taking the bus. All in all, if you like learning about the history of the area you are visiting I would recommend you to take a look at Castillo San Cristóbal to learn more about Puerto Rico's history. I had a wonderful time with my family during our port day in San Juan.

Excellent visit to Castillo San Cristobal…read more Admission is $10 but is also good for admission to the nearby Castillo San Felipe del Morro within one day of your visit here. So be sure to take advantage of this perk. The castle contains some great exhibits providing details on its history. It also offers some really amazing views of the streets and buildings Old San Juan...very unique. Note that there are some hills (some steep) and steps throughout the castle and its grounds...so pre prepared and wear comfortable shoes. Great location just steps from the streets of Old San Juan with tons of food options and other attractions. A short walk from the cruise port.

I had one of the best times on this all day near 12 hour trip with PR Tours! Our tour guide was…read moreCruz. Overall he was very nice and helpful during the tour. We chose to do the El Yunque/BioBay combo tour. First you're picked up directly from the hotel around 9:30 am. They come straight to the lobby. You will be in a rather small shuttle and depending on how large your group is it may get cramped and stuffy in the shuttle vehicle. Lucky for me we had a great group that was a lot of fun. We really bonded in such a short period of time. First stop is El Yunque national rainforest. On the drive to the rainforest you watch a film that previews some of what you will be seeing in person and gives some historical info. Cruz brought us up to the very highest part of the rainforest so that we could hike mostly downward which is a hell of a lot easier and less strenuous. I recommend water shoes for the hike. You will stop at a waterfall and get a chance to swim around which was definitely the highlight of the day! After you leave El Yunque you stop at a strip mall of authentic Puerto Rican food stands. You eat (own expense) for about an hour and then go to a really nice beach for another hour and a half. After that you will be driven to the marina where you will start your kayaking. At this point the BioBay is run by a separate company. So I can't really include them in this review. All I will say is that the BioBay is not what you think it is if you have ever googled pictures of it. That's definitely not what you will be seeing on this tour. After you return from kayaking your original tour guide drops you back off at your hotel. All in all it's an exhaustive 12 hour day but it is an amazing experience and well worth the money!

Our guide was fantastic and this would be a great excursion for those on a cruise and here for a day. This was not an option the cruise ship offers and I am so happy we found this when we got off the boat. Fantastic service, very knowledgeable guide and what a fun way to see every inch of the city. With PR Sidecars you don't need a week in PR they will show you the hidden gems in hours. What an experience I will remember for a lifetime!! Our guide took all our pics, educates us on the city, recommended restaurants ((amazing)) and showed us places only tourist could reach. If you are cruising, this company was located right off the ship to the left!

Very appreciative of that!! On to the experience! My guide, Tom, arrived right on time and picked me up in front of my hotel. He kindly provided me with cold water and a helmet for the ride. From there, we spent the next hour and a half perusing the streets of Old San Juan in a stylish sidecar! (So much better than sitting in a cramped, sweaty van with 15/20+ others!‍) You get to cruise the cobblestone streets with the open air/breeze in your face feeling, as well as getting unobstructed, 360 degree views- it is AMAZING! There were many historic sights to see, along the way. Tom was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Puerto Rico- I learned quite a bit in just an hour and a half! As we zipped around Old San Juan, Tom also pointed out some cool local eateries to check out, as well as places to shop. When you reach some of the destinations, you're able to jump out, take some photos and enjoy the views. I highly recommend PR Sidecars! You will enjoy and amazing ride, see some of the beautiful sights Puerto Rico has to offer and learn a thing or two along the way!

With a group of 10 girls, our biggest concern was finding reliable transportation, especially since Ubers are not easy to come by in Luquillo Beach. Thank goodness we met Keith on our first night--seriously, we all agreed he was sent from above! From the start, Keith went above and beyond to accommodate us. He was there for every single ride we needed, always on time, professional, and incredibly personable. But beyond that, he brought the energy, the laughs, the best music and the best vibes! He wasn't just a driver--he became a true friend to all of us. Keith made sure we felt safe, cared for, and stress-free the entire trip. He had the best recommendations, helped us plan our outings, and even surprised us with Puerto Rican souvenirs we'll cherish forever!! He even handled our chaotic airport departures--everyone had different flight times, one friend's flight was delayed until 4 AM, and Keith still showed up with a smile, ready to take her 30+ minutes back to our Airbnb. This man is a legend. If you want a seamless, fun, and truly blissful experience in PR, Keith is your guy. We love you, Keith--we'll be back!!!

This is absolutely a WALKING tour. Totally doable but definitely a workout. I wouldn't book this if you have mobility concerns tbh. Not the tour's fault. Old San Juan overall isn't too accessible. Also be aware that PR has (and has had for a whiiiiile) water issues all over. So pee before you go on the tour because you may not find a working bathroom.
