Tucked away along the main street across the way from the Nørreport station complex is this small unassuming outpost of the Amager Bryghus empire. I hesitate to use the word because it tends to conjure images of monolithic brewing and corporate conformity. The fact of the matter is that Amager is one of the bold pioneers in driving the Copenhagen craft beer revolution, and remains fiercely independent. Copenhagen remains one of the best cities to enjoy fresh, creative, and bold craft beers brewed locally and brought to your parched palate tout de suite. This taproom has all that you need to feel well again, whether you're taking a mid-afternoon pit stop from sightseeing or hanging out at end of the day to people watch and engage in some friendly banter. The location is intimate in that neighborhood dive bar way, and the offerings are unsurprisingly wonderful. All in all, I would recommend you put this on your "drop by if in the neighborhood" list. If you're going to have a beer because it's the Danish thing to do, then certainly put those calories to good use by opting for an expertly brewed, balanced, flavorful and interesting quaff. read more
