I was actually surprised because it was dirt cheap ($50 for a 90 minute foot and back combo) yet better than most massages I've had at more upscale professional salons. They don't speak English very well, and the place is opposite from fancy, but they tried their best to give good service and it was clean. The guy who did the massage did an amazing job and i could tell he was a professional masseuse (certified perhaps in Asia). I told them I like it very strong and it was one of the few times that I actually had to ask him to be a little more gentle. He really put in a lot of effort in my massage and made sure I was comfortable. They have a variety of massage combos for cheap (ex. facial + massage, foot + body, foot + back, etc). As well contrary to a previous review they did not ask for a tip and when I did tip them they were very gracious. If you want a no-frills dirt cheap yet high quality massage then look no further. They have the same rates but what I don't like is that at the end of massage and paying for service, they ask for a tip. Tips is up to the discretion of client and is not mandatory. If one wants to gain my repeat business, this behavior is unnecessary. I have travelled to Asia and not one has asked for gratuity and I am sure if they tried, they would get fired. I will never go back to places like that so save your $ and go else where.

They always have some kind of cucumber or fruit water at the front which is a nice touch. I've been coming here for about half a year and have no complaints. Would recommend this to those who are looking for an actual therapeutic massage, rather than just a "relaxation massage". I.e. the more questions you ask or information you can give the RMT, the better they will tailor your treatment to help with particular areas of discomfort. But more than anything, their RMTs are top-notch: skilled, professional, pleasant. Special shoutout to Manuela, who has helped me deal with various aches and pains all these years. I think the best way to describe how Manuela treats you is she listens with her hands - she never just goes through the motions or just sticks to a checklist. While she asks you at the start where the problematic areas are, she is also always hyper-aware as she goes through the treatment on areas you never thought needed a bit more work. I booked a last minute facial here last week. It was my first one at H&S which I was told was at an…read moreintroductory rate. Luckily I got the last appointment but I recommend that you book ahead to get the time you want because they book up fast! I arrived for my appointment early to fill out a form and questionnaire and was offered a beverage while I did. When I was done I was greeted by Dee who was the esthetician. Dee was lovely and knowledgeable. She started with a skin consult and talked to me about my skin care routine. Then she made a recommendation to add a collagen mask which was an additional $40. I agreed to it as it was my birthday and I wanted to treat myself, however be prepared to be upsold on the intro pricing. She used Dermalogica products which seemed nice. A warming scrub and a few different masks. She also offered eyebrow threading which I was due for but in hindsight wasn't a good idea. It was painful and my eyebrows were done too thin for my liking. At the end she left the room to allow me to get together. I has eye makeup all over my eyes that luckily I wiped with a tissue before leaving the room or I wouldn't have realized. I wasn't offered the washroom or a mirror. Once I arrived back at the front, Dee showed me a couple of products she recommended for my skin. She didn't pressure me but said they would save them on file for future reference. I later looked them up and the ingredients lists weren't impressive. Both products contained dimethicone which is terrible for your skin but creates the look of smooth texture. I would expect that from cheaper products but not from products that were approximately $100 each. I was better skin, not better looking skin. All in all I would say it was ok. Dee was my favourite part of the facial but Hand and Stone is a money making business above all else.

I told the masseuse I want full body but to focus on my neck, lower back and hips. She spent the whole time talking about her Egyptian boyfriend that she's been with for a month, which distracted her from what she was doing. Next thing you know my hour was up and she only got to my back and lower legs? She never touched my hips, neck, thighs, lower back, arms etc. This was the worst massage I ever had and I could've got my little cousins to do a better job. Each time I asked her to apply pressure she told me it's too difficult for her because I'm on my side. I'm obviously on my side because I'm pregnant and it's a prenatal massage. I'm not someone that's hard to please at all but I did inform the front desk it's a disappointment that I have to pay for that type of service. The front desk didn't bother to ask me any questions or seem to care, they just said to have a nice day. I was looking forward to that massage all week because of these pregnancy pains...I still left there in pain and $120 less in my pocket lol not a good experience at all and I won't be returning. ...not to mention, their new rooms are as bright as they're shown in the pictures here. If you're like me and prefer the room to be dim and relaxing you won't enjoy that part.
