What I encountered was a good-sized cafe with sugary beverages, waffles, and pastries (they had one salad, but I wouldn't call it a health food place). The apple butter chai I went for delivered pretty much the flavor you'd expect from that name, rather excessively sweet but fun. A waffle with banana and some very sticky Nutella was nicely carmelized. I kind of wish they still had the salad bar that some of these other reviewers seem to have encountered, which if it still exists escaped my gaze. Nonetheless, the cafe was pretty good for what it was.

While strolling the street(s) of downtown Danville, my boyfriend and I were searching for a good place to stop in for a snack before our drive back to Lexington. After poking out heads in to look at the menu posted on the open door, we decided to have a seat when we saw there was also a bar with TVs so we could watch some march madness. Since it was St Paddy's Day, there was a drink special and we each ordered a beer as well as an order of chips and guacamole. The guac was plentiful and the bartender told us to let her know if we needed a refill on chips. There were a lot of other menu options that sounded appetizing and healthy as well, including juices, smoothies and smoothie bowls, coffee/tea, oatmeal, toast, salads, soups, and sandwiches! I can't speak with experience for the fitness classes; but they offer yoga, hot yoga, barre, pilates, as well as cycling classes. I can see this being a popular spot for Centre students, as its in an easy walking distance from campus. There was also a small stage set up for what looks like singers/bands/open mic nights! All of the instructors are awesome in helping me make any modifications I may need. It is truly my practice and I love the peace and wellness each class brings me. There is a class for everyone regardless if you are new or experienced. Attending a class is my favorite part of the day because it allows me to take time for myself. It has helped reduce stress, gain flexibility and help with pain relief.

I have only occasionally gone back to the same studio more than once, but I think based on tonight that I will be back whenever I'm in Lexington! Just as I was feeling particularly negative about having to spend the next 6 weeks in Kentucky for…read morework training, I decided to look up something I'm actually interested in to help pass the time. I am so grateful to have found Yoga on Helm St. I called to let Cheryl know I was coming and when I arrived she was so welcoming and already had a mat and props set up for me. She introduced me to the other students and asked me about my yoga practice and if I had any injuries she needed to know about. Then we got started with the class (I went to the Saturday morning Power Yoga). First of all, her studio is beautiful, clean, and warm. She has plenty of mats, blankets, blocks, etc available for anyone to use, which is great because I have nothing with me! The class was great, she explains everything well and uses the traditional names, which I appreciate a lot. She is really passionate about her practice, learning, and teaching. I am looking forward to going to more classes with her! The first class is complimentary, so you should definitely check it out at least once. $15 per class, or you can buy 6-12-18 class passes at a cheaper rate.
