I wasn't here for the yoga, but the cafe seems to fall under the same umbrella. Judging by prior…read morereviews it has gone through some major changes in its time. What I encountered was a good-sized cafe with sugary beverages, waffles, and pastries (they had one salad, but I wouldn't call it a health food place). The apple butter chai I went for delivered pretty much the flavor you'd expect from that name, rather excessively sweet but fun. A waffle with banana and some very sticky Nutella was nicely carmelized. I kind of wish they still had the salad bar that some of these other reviewers seem to have encountered, which if it still exists escaped my gaze. Nonetheless, the cafe was pretty good for what it was.

While strolling the street(s) of downtown Danville, my boyfriend and I were searching for a good place to stop in for a snack before our drive back to Lexington. After poking out heads in to look at the menu posted on the open door, we decided to have a seat when we saw there was also a bar with TVs so we could watch some march madness. Since it was St Paddy's Day, there was a drink special and we each ordered a beer as well as an order of chips and guacamole. The guac was plentiful and the bartender told us to let her know if we needed a refill on chips. There were a lot of other menu options that sounded appetizing and healthy as well, including juices, smoothies and smoothie bowls, coffee/tea, oatmeal, toast, salads, soups, and sandwiches! I can't speak with experience for the fitness classes; but they offer yoga, hot yoga, barre, pilates, as well as cycling classes. I can see this being a popular spot for Centre students, as its in an easy walking distance from campus. There was also a small stage set up for what looks like singers/bands/open mic nights! Plank on Main is definitely a great addition to downtown Danville

One feels welcome from the first visit as all clients are welcomed warmly and respectfully. The Art of Contrology - Pilates - is taught as an art form - a time-proven practice of integrating the energy of one's mind, body and spirit. And, the results are quickly apparent in one's posture, balance and strength. It's quite a refreshing change from the big box culture of many gyms. I've become a devoted advocate of mindful movement...thank you breathe!

I was new to Pilates, and, quite frankly, a little skeptical that it would be a "real workout." I can't quite convey the level of pain I was in after my first Pilates class...every muscle in my body (including several with which I was previously unacquainted) hurt. My eyebrows hurt. Yes, eyebrows can hurt. And that was the next day. I think my mind shut down the second day after that class, when even breathing hurt. I know I'm not making this sound very appealing, but, strangely, it was. Pilates is very low impact, but the level of workout you get is exceptional. The class I took was a reformer class, and I have since taken many more classes from Scarlett, who is so delightful that even when I would dearly love to slug her for suggesting a particularly tough set she somehow makes me laugh in spite of myself. I know this review is for the center - Breathe - and the center is lovely...very simple décor, clean and bright, and the equipment is excellent. I have not taken a yoga class here, though the yoga rooms I pass on the way to the torture chamber are all very inviting (seriously, why is there no shavasana after Pilates?), and the other instructors, and the owner, are all delightful people. Scarlett is the big draw here, for me; she has a background is physical rehabilitation, so she is excellent when working with the walking wounded, whether it be a minor discomfort or a major post-surgical condition. She is also a very competitive tennis player, so she knows firsthand how good body condition feels and how being fit will improve your game. Scarlett is inspiring (I actually want to do all of the terrible things she suggests I try) and she is very encouraging (even when there is no way I can get my body to do the thing she wants it to do). I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my flexibility, my core strength, and my muscle tone since starting Pilates with Scarlett, and I am proud to say that I am on a first-name basis with almost all of my muscles...or at least all of my muscles who are currently speaking to me. I highly recommend Breathe - and Scarlett Haley - for Pilates reformer classes. I always leave class feeling like I have truly accomplished something, and my spirits are lighter and my outlook is better after every class.

I went to use the restroom, and when I came out, I was told that I could not start because it was over the five-minute grace period. My stomach was hurting, and there was no way I could hold it, which is already embarrassing. Being turned away so abruptly did not make me happy, especially since I had driven over 45 minutes just to get to the class. I was told I can't miss the first five minutes of class to ensure client safety, but I think it would put everyone at a safety risk if I were to have an accident and shit myself during warm-up. This experience was with Sophia Wills the head coach in "community" manager at Solid Core. She made me feel really bad and humiliated

The class had already started, it's dark in the room with blue lights. Music is blasting with great beats to get you in the workout mood. There is only room for 15 max capacity, which is great for those that don't like crowded gyms. It's a class you have to sign up for, you can't just show up and attend unless there's someone that didn't show up or was super late. It is an intense workout class, but in a great way. You're testing your endurance on so many levels. I've never seen such a machine or ever tried one, but I loved it. They call it the, "sweat-Lana" which is funny to me being I'm Eastern European and Svetlana is one of my aunts' name. Overall, a great studio and very reasonable pricing. Stop by and get your workout on, you won't be disappointed.
