Most don't know this but at the beginning of the year, they offer a bucket of popcorn for $25, you keep the bucket and when you bring it back to enjoy more popcorn or go to the movie, it only costs $5 to fill that same bucket!! And this can be done throughout the year with that bucket. Shown in the picture is the bucket and the popcorn. The friendly staff also put the popcorn in a baggy so we wouldn't dirty the bucket on this visit. Normally concession items are super expensive at theaters. The seats are the "fancy" seats from my childhood, the first rocking seats, not recliners, but not immobile. My son, 9, had never experienced this. We had a laugh over it, but actually, he remained in his seat more than he would in a recliner, less room to move. The tickets were affordable, $16 for both of us. Basic concessions: pop, popcorn and candy, but, drum roll please...they did have bottled beer, wine and seltzer. I didn't expect this from the concession stand. There is one cooler with plenty of choices; since we were in Wisconsin, I went with the Spotted Cow. We had a great time, and we walked from our hotel, making the old fashioned feel more authentic. To start with, the theater is in DIRE need of renovation. The screens are huge, but the seats are dilapidated and the floors are concrete. The overall look makes it seem like a dollar theater in a shady neighborhood. Even the sign outside is missing lights. As far as the movies, most of the time the theaters are empty, even on nights when it's only $5 for any show (Wednesday). The sound and picture quality is adequate, if you can get over the uncomfortable seats. The other unfortunate thing is that the latest movies are at 7pm. Makes it really difficult to do dinner and movie when the last show is at 7pm. The other issue the popcorn. Despite the fact that it's only $5 for a large with free refills, it's always burned. If you are willing to go back and forth, all the sizes of popcorn and drinks all have free refills which is nice. Overall, I think the town of Beloit deserves a better theater. It sucks to have to drive to Rockford to watch a movie, especially if you want to go to a show at night.

Well, it means if they are playing a PG movie, it's the same movie that plays for the matinees and all the way into the late evening all week long. I check weekly, I love going to the cinema, but they seem to cater more to children than adults since there aren't many adult showings. I don't want to see animated PG flicks late on Saturday evenings! Please change it up a bit! There are adults in nearby towns that would love to head over for late night adult showings, especially on the weekends!

Manager came over and reluctantly gave us the deal. It took 2 min to see on the Marcus website where it says $5.50. Majestic rips you off. Big screen or not, will only go to The Ridge in New Berlin from now on.
