Vintage. Yes. New seats. Yes. Clean. Yes. Lots of chain places to see a flick. Most are blah blah boring. Not this place. It has the look, feel and charm of the small town theaters we went to as kids. Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Super comfortable seating. All good. We have seen quite a few movies here and always enjoy ourselves. Today is straight outta Compton. Been looking forward to it as I am a huge chronic fan (dre). Saw mission implausible here a week ago and many others in the past few years. If you are in Burlington it's around the corner from one of the best coffee houses in SE Wisconsin. Have a cuppa cuppa and enjoy a flick. Oh and lots of free parking in the back.

Wanna get away to comfy seats in and old time theatre? Then this the place. Nostalgia meets modern with classic theatre looks on walls and ceilings with the benefit of full size screens and sound. The staff is very friendly and engaging - true movie lovers. Snacks are expected but you can get real food here like pizza, pannini and Friday fish fry. And never as crowded as some other bigger theaters in the nearby area.

We're Marcus Reward members, and appreciate they still have discounts for Tuesday nights. You get free popcorn, and special deals on hot dogs, candy, combos, pizza, and beer! It's also nice you get 50% off for the Ultrascreen and Superscreen. The chairs recline back with plenty of space, legroom, and cushion to feel comfortable. The seats are "couple" setup, so they have a divider between them that can be easily lifted if you want to sit closer or further apart. It's a plus they offer digital tickets with Apple Wallet. Only caveat, if you book multiple tickets with one order, your whole party must be present. They can't scan on their own to get in. Friendly staff and the sound and lighting were great. I did notice when I tried to book online the seats behind us were all empty upon arrival, and unavailable for some reason to purchase online. We would've sat in the rows further from the ones we selected. Nevertheless, they ended up being good seats for being in row C-DreamLounger section. Overall, great experience!

On the ground level, there are intangibles, such as for the past several years, he has always had personnel regularly check on patrons in darkened theaters and is not beyond walking and assisting patrons to their seats, when there is not a rush for tickets and concessions. This is a sign of a manager always willing to go the extra mile. Further, the main auditorium is spectacular, one of a kind, and is frequently recognized as one of the most beautiful showpieces in the country, with a flawless restoration under the direction of the general manager, but wit one twist, beautifully comfortable recliner seats that are easy to maintain, and hygein friendly. What a wonderful experience it has been to attend this lovely theatre that is a treasure of McHenry County. I often purchase tickets for children to see a lovely film for only 2.00 in the summer, and all reports are the same, clean theater, spotless and high quality concessions and an attentive and safe environment for people of all ages. I have witnessed many staff members over the years, when the sudden rush is over, assisting patrons in theters, to insure their saftey abd well being. I especially am a fan of the mystery series, and the fun surprise movies. What a beautifully managed theater! In the old days we had one movie theater with one movie and we loved it. And when the movie was…read moredone it left forever and a new movie came in. This theater is like the old days. One screen and one movie...if you do not like the movie, then you might have to wait a few weeks for a new one. I really love the old days and the simple times of what the Antioch Theatre offers. Early bird tickets are only 4 bucks. That is an incredible deal and honestly you can not find a better deal anywhere. This theatre also has a balcony too. I have not watched a movie from up here because this seems to be where the teenagers go and I am sure they are not watching the movie, so I better stick to the main level. I have explained to my little one that most theaters I went to as a kid had balconies. She thinks that is cool. I am sure she will want to sit up there with a boy but I am going to cross that bridge when I get to it. One of the coolest thing that this theater does is free refills on soda and popcorn but that is not the cool part. They actually will come down the aisle during the movie and check to see if you need more, then they will go and fill it up for you. Are you kidding me? Who does that? The staff is also super nice. The worker behind the counter takes your money for tickets and can also fill your popcorn or soda request. What I really love is the old school tickets. The tickets are actual tickets like you would see at a raffle but this is how tickets use to look when I was a kid. There was no printing on them with the name of the movie or the theater number. I also love that they have the old school ticket machine which spits out the tickets. I must be the old one in our group because no one else remembers those. Man am I getting old. The workers will also do some trivia before the movie starts and you have a chance to win prizes. They also run a contest on Facebook to win tickets. I always seem to be late to the party and I have never won, even though I typically know the correct answer. One of these days I am going to win...I hope!!! So if you are looking for an old movie feel and what to go back in time when movie theatres still had charm, then this is the place. The prices are super low and the staff is really friendly. There is also plenty of parking around with spots in front of the theatre with a two hour time limit and spots behind the chamber of commerce that have a 6 hour time limit. So depending on how long the movie is you can park accordingly.

You can have as many people in the car as there are seatbelts but there were just two of us. Their snack bar is now just candy and a few drinks, including beer. So if you wanted hot dogs or anything like that, you won't get it here. However, they let you bring outside food and drink--probably why they charge more. We made a huge batch of homemade butter popcorn, brought our own waters, candy, and jerky. The car next to us had brought in pizza and Chipotle, which I'd do next time. There are restrooms on the site and they were very clean and plenty of stalls (at least for women). The one thing I did NOT like aside from the price is that you have to use a radio to listen to the movie. I have a 2019 Subaru and my car battery almost died after leaving it on without the engine running for both movies. A couple people had cars that needed a jump. So either bring a handheld radio or bring jumper cables. We would come back again because we like older movies but it would be nice if they had newer movie options too. It's a cute date night if you like old school things.
