I had quite a unique situation when I flew into CMI instead of PIA (where my hertz reservation was booked) because of airline stupidity. Vicky was a very caring person and very swiftly and painlessly converted my reservation to CMI. I was out of the airport and on my way in about 10 mins. And she was able to change my reservation so that I could drop off at PIA when I was through. Thank you Vicki!!!!!

My reservation started on Friday May 15 at noon and since I already paid for the car I thought it would be fine to show up a bit later. I've done this multiple times before with other companies. I was there before 2 pm on May 15 and was told by the agent that they had a very busy day and she gave my car to someone else and they had no car at the moment! Obviously I complained that since I paid for the car I should've had the car for the whole weekend whether I picked it up at all or not and agent's response was that since I reserved the car through a third party, Hertz doesn't guaranty to keep the car if they have demand. I wanted to talk to her supervisor and she said the supervisor was at some other center and the only phone number she could provide me with was the number of the office I was at, which the only person present there was herself. She was extremely rude instead of being apologetic or sorry or at the very least pretending to be. I asked why they didn't give me a call to see if I'm late or what and all I was told was that they don't have my number, the third party does. On top of all that (like canceling my trip wasn't enough) only when I asked if I'd be refunded automatically, she told me I have to call Hotwire and Hotwire would call Hertz and then I'll be refunded. I want to make sure it's crystal clear to everyone what's going on here. Hertz takes advantage of Hotwire and other similar websites to get more customers since those websites usually offer better prices. Even though they totally charge the customer, if the customer shows up a few mins later than the moment the reservation is supposed to start (not end!), they rent the car with a higher price to someone else. This place is at the airport so obviously they always have customers. At this moment of time Hertz had charged two people for one car, one of those two being me who never had the car and now I have to run after my money. If this is not fraud then what is it?! I called Hotwire and the customer service representative was shocked having no explanation whatsoever. She said they need about 7-10 days to investigate the case and she will file a complaint for my possible (!) refund.

    We feel fooled by budget car rental. Ok, we did sign the contract so we made a big mistake just…read morelistening to what they said instead of reading carefully. But when asking if there is any other fees we need to know about and we get a no, we trusted that. Then asking about if we need to fill up the tank before returning the car we get the answer "it doesn't matter. If you don't fill it up it'll be like 10 bucks or whatever". Yes, ten bucks PER GALLON!!! Ridiculous. It costed us $30 to fill it earlier. We had run late due to traffic (didn't expect a color run to close every street in Nashville) so we didn't have time to get gas in order to drop off the car on time. So what happens. WE ARE CHARGED $115 FOR NOT BRINGING BACK A FULL TANK. Also they were not friendly there at all. One lady was friendly but she was the one who totally fooled us when saying it's not a big thing returning the car not filled up. The other two people we talked to were very rude.

I booked a rental on Priceline after booking my flight and making my connection to Charlotte NC. I arrived and my phone says 9pm (if your familiar with the airport it's one escalator ride to the rental car terminal) . There was no one at the car counter, but a Dr Pepper on the counter. The security guard told me it was 9:02 , my husband went outside to the cars and the front of the airport thinking someone might be cleaning cars or on break. By 9:10 we asked baggage handlers if they had seen the Avis rental person because budget counter had a sign to go to Avis. When I called customer service they told me to get an uber that the person working had clocked out early after first telling me I was late. He told me to uber back tomorrow and that if I wanted to complain he could put me through to customer service which promptly hung up because they were closed on Saturday evening.

Other than that, I loved that it is a Hilton hotel, and the fact that it was lower in cost for Hilton Honors members as I am currently. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing of what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. For your information check-in starts at 3:00 PM and ends at 12:00 AM! And check-out ends at 12:00 PM! I must say that the hallway felt never-ending as I walked down it to locate my room; and the carpet had the softest cushion like feel. After locating and entering the room, I said to myself "Oh my God" once I took notice of the kitchenet area which appeared so elegant! It came with a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, a sink, a built-in electric cooktop, plus cabinets that came with dishware, and pots & pans inside. Now the furniture in the room gave the room a homely like feel which made me anticipate my stay with Homewood Suites. It was those things that totally charmed me out of my panties, tehehe. There were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% inside of the shower attached to the wall. Seems like hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made really great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear, tehehe. Other things the room came with that I noticed were an iron, ironing board, an extra comforter, and a few lamps with electrical outlets. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Homewood Suites, as expected, appeared immaculately beautiful! Leave it to me to forget my bathing suit, hindering me from swimming in the pool onsite even though I knew about it as I booked the room. It was great having a fitness center onsite because I was in dire need of a workout. And I was impressed to see the number of dumbbell weights, decent looking workout machines, and even a peloton fitness bike within. Served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, it was a relief having the complimentary breakfast because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. I would surely book with Homewood Suites by Hilton Champaign-Urbana again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of my interest in Champaign-Urbana. ~ Good vibes coming your way ~ Thomas G
