Glad it was there when I needed it that's for sure. On both the 1st & 2nd legs of my standby travel insanity I had to take the bus. Not any old bus mind you, but the Peoria Charter Coach. Serving 2 airports, 3 shopping malls a couple of towns and of course Joliet, a prison town. The first time I took it was the first night of my trip, my connecting flight from O'Hare to Peoria filled up from 4 aboard to oversold, rather than be stuck in O'Hare on Christmas morning (yes I flew standby on xmas eve) I opted to spend Christmas Eve driving across middle Illinois to see my 95 year old Grandma, and be with her on Christmas. I slept most of the way as I had a meal mentioned in a previous review at the Hilton and a vodka cocktail before I got on the bus. That was a smooth ride for me. Or maybe it wasn't, and I just didn't know. It was really rainy though. The second leg of my trip of standby insanity began on the 29th at 6:30am. I got a call saying my flight from Peoria was oversold because all the flights from the day before were canceled and that I was going to need to catch the bus if I wanted to make my 11:56am New Jersey connection at O'Hare. OK. I got up and went to retrieve the bus schedule I had foolishly thrown in the trash the night before. The bus I needed to catch to make my Jersey flight left at 6:05am. Well too late for that one. So I got the 10:30am bus. You can see the rest of that story in an American Airlines review I wrote the other day. It was really crowded. I never knew that so many people went in and out of Peoria so regularly. Or any part of middle Illinois for that matter. Somewhere, I think it was Morton Illinois we picked up a bunch of folks. Ya. Folks. Illinois is far and away THE flattest place on earth. This had to be where it was decided that the earth was flat. So, to amuse myself in the mid morning light I took pictures of the endless flatness for my own entertainment. I'd give them 5 stars, but there is sort of a part of me that is resentful they canceled the train to Chilacothe, and now you're stuck on a bus. But I digress. I was so happy to have that bus to ride both times I had to, but I liked the train better. Bottom line here is that it is just really hard to fly in and out of Peoria no matter what time of year it is you have a good chance of riding it if you're trying to get to O'Hare on time.

Peoria has a lot of stops, but I'm not too familiar with them besides O'Hare, Midway, and downtown Chicago.

I couldn't be more pleased with the chance to relax before a 12 hour day of traveling. It was exactly as Shaylyn Dee's review five years ago. Today was my first trip to O'Hare airport using Peoria Charter company from ISR at the UIUC campus. I am so very pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoying the drive as I write this review. I completed a UIUC campus visit yesterday, 2/23/25, and being a student 46 years ago I was bracing for the worst as I was acquainted with greyhound bus service - grim. Instead, I was greeted with a smile and quiet confidence by Jim Downing, the driver who immediately identified me on his list of passengers he had. He told me he wouldn't have left and would have waited for me as I had to hustle from waiting inside ISR. Note: the bus parked in front of the Faculty Center, and not iSR. He immediately stowed me my two pieces of luggage, and confirmed that they were free of charge upon boarding. I took the front seat which had a shelf that served as a very practical desk. The coach was uber clean, temperature comfortable, and on time to the minute Jim gave me a courteous and warm orientation, including Wi-Fi password and charger cable outlets, He related to me that there was only one stop Downers Grove and then a mall before O'Hare. We discussed student dynamics where there were 66 students on Sunday and only 22 on Monday - the day I'm traveling. This was a very useful piece of information. He also told me to be careful of high student volume during Easter, spring break and end of school. With this information, I will use this transport in the future to go back to O'Hare on Monday. I am shocked by the negative reviews but will take precautions in learning the pick up point in O'Hare till then. I spoke to Jim on where to pick up Peoria Charter bus in O Hare and will research the location as I have time at O'Hare.. Perhaps I got very lucky with the driver Thank you Jim Downing!

The company was professional and…read morereasonably priced (my only beef is the prices on the website needs to be updated to reflect tax - for instance, round trip is billed as $90 with the verbiage tax and fuel surcharge added - well that "surcharge" is close to 40 bucks, why not quote the full price on the website?) Dispatch and the drivers were all friendly and prompt. If I had to nitpick, my trip back from Midway was annoying due to another passenger who would not STFU. Seriously this dude talked loudly non stop. He was elderly so I cut him some slack, but damn - I wanted to stab myself in the eye it was so annoying. I wanted the driver to do something about it, not sure what she could have done about it, but seriously this guy talked nonstop the whole trip (and the breathe was terrible, gag inducing)

As our plans evolved we had to call them to change some of the details at least 3x, and every time they understood and were willing to work with us and our needs. The driver that was assigned to our event was very professional and understanding when, despite our best efforts, everything didn't go off as planned. Act II came to us highly recommended and I see why. Thank you guys for making our special day much easier.

The bus driver felt so bad as it was 80 degrees out and the bus was extremely hot upon boarding it. She tried to call the company but she got no where. The AC had quit working when she was on her way to pick us up. We were able to help her get the AC going for about 10 minutes before it broke down again. We only had AC for about 10 minutes for the 2 hour bus trip. We had 3 small children on the bus with us and they got extremely crabby from being so hot. We were able to crack a couple of the windows open, however most of the windows would not open and everyone was hot and miserable. We called a few days after the wedding and Stacy with 3 guys and a bus was not compassionate at all. She offered $50 back out of the $800 that we paid. It was rather insulting, we thought maybe she was not understanding the damper this put on our after the ceremony pictures as we had a 20 minute drive to the first stop. We tried to relay this to Stacy a second time and again was offered the $50. We had asked for $200 of the $800 back and asked for the owners contact information after the second time of being offered $50, Stacy then came back and said she spoke with the owner and they were now offering $100. This was a ton of back and forth and disheartening that Stacy AND the owner felt this bad experience was only worth $100 when we paid $800 for a dependable and reliable bus for our very special day. We are leaving this review for the public in hopes to spare someone else of this same experience. If you decide to go with 3 Guys and a bus for your special occasion, I suggest asking them to provide some type of guarantee that you will have heat and AC on the bus, especially if you will be using it for 2 hours like we did. I can't stress enough that If you want to hire someone that is concerned about the outcome of your special occasion, I highly suggest looking into a more reputable company.
