We wanted pull out carpets and install hardwood floors. We visited various places and talked to…read morefriends for referrals and decided on Benjamin Carpet One. We met Heidi at their showroom and she was a wealth of knowledge. Heidi came out and measured and gave us recommendations. Their prices seemed a bit higher than some bargain places but we had learned not to do the bargain route years ago when putting hardwood into a home in Seattle. (The floors ended up getting reinstalled 3 times because the installers were amateurs). As we were choosing real hardwood instead of laminate Heidi let us know would be a wait (about 4 months) because of softwood tariff disputes with Canada. Brian the head installer guy contacted us when the floors arrived. Like Heidi he was very professional. He said the install would take 3 days and that they wanted to deliver the flooring a week before installing to let the wood acclimatize to our house. The installers were also extremely professional got right to work and cleaned up their workspace every evening before going home. The job began with the carpet being removed and disposed of, baseboards removed and a raised subfloor put down so the flooring would be at the same level as the tile next to it. The install was done perfectly, no soft spots, no gaps etc... And they finished ahead of schedule! We will definately use Benjamin's again in the future.

Since they have been in kennewick for a long, long time I felt safe with them. Specifically when I ordered and paid I was told that furniture moving would not be an issue. Well, the day came for the install! the installers come back up and tell me that they dont move furniture and that ill have to reschedule after I find someone to do it. Gina did help, she called help-u-move. She took a 100 bucks off of the 550$ moving bill that I had to pay to get my carpet. also, post install benjamins do not do a cleanup, you will have bits of carpet strands and slivers of pad all over once they leave for you to deal with. If I had known that Benjamins will not touch your furniture or clean up post install, I would have went with Costco, or one of the others. to their credit they were responsive and the quality of their wares seems excellent. Im happy w/the install, just the service post sale isnt very good, esp the bait n switch about furniture moving.

I guess that happens, but it really shouldn't have. Plus, they never even called saying they couldn't make it. I made appointments 2 other times and the same thing happened - no notification. Never showed up. Ugh. Very disappointed. I felt like my job wasn't important enough, and I've finally found someone who is going to do the work. I did get my deposit back, thankfully. They won't be getting my recommendation, unfortunately.
