I am having a 1000 square foot cabin built in Lake Lure. From the beginning it has been a disaster but has evolved into a never ending nightmare. If you walk into the business front, a cabin off Memorial Hwy, you will meet Rudy. Rudy sells the kit and puts you in touch with Fender Construction the contractor/builder. When things go wrong, they will both throw each other far under the bus. To keep it short, we have mold on interior beams because the builder left them sitting outside uncovered for months. The build started in April of 2018 (after 6 months of delays for "weather") and did not complete the dry in until October. (for a 1000sq ft cabin). We failed 2 inspections, have water damage on 3 of 4 basement walls, the builder forgot to caulk the windows so we had interior flooding, the builder used interior nails on exterior trim so they have all rusted and trim pieces are not secured. This last week we had significant flooding in the kitchen when we found out the pipes for the dish washer we not properly hooked up. The people being contracted out are unskilled and we have had to have things redone 3 and 4 times. I will provide photos to help paint a better picture. After a recent stop into the cabin to address this with Rudy he was extremely condescending and indifferent to the issues mentioned. His reply was simply "What do you want from me? I have nothing to do with it". He threatened to sue me for writing an honest Google review about his business (that's not how it works, buddy). Seriously, RUN.
