There was a shout, by me, when I darned near fell over after slipping on one of the loose rocks, but no screaming and no ghosts. The tunnel was built not so much as a path for cars or horses but as drainage to keep the tracks above from being dislodged by flood waters. And on the other side, the Bruce Trail continues which was the destination for a pack of offroad dirt bikers who went past just as I arrived. There is a cul-de-sac at the end of the road. Absolutely spectacular!…read more The Canadian side of Niagara Falls offers the most complete and dramatic views of both Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls, and the smaller Bridal Falls, so i highly recommend spending more time in Canada if possible. There are so many options here. You can walk along the Niagara Parkway from Table Rock Centre through Queen Victoria Park. The views constantly change and the walk provides some of the best photo opportunities. You can opt for the Journey Behind the Falls to stand in tunnels carved behind the rushing water, or take the cruise -- which I strongly recommend. A ride on Hornblower Niagara Cruises is one of the most memorable experiences in Niagara Falls. The provided poncho helps, but you should still expect to get drenched on any exposed areas as the boat approaches the base of falls. It felt like a monsoon! Also, be prepared for substantial parking charges. $30 for 30 minutes -- outrageous! I also suggest making time to see the falls after dark. The nightly illumination creates an entirely different experience, and on fireworks nights (around 10 p.m. beginning in May) it is quite the spectacle. Bring a light jacket or sweater even during summer. The constant mist and evening breezes near the falls can make temperatures feel noticeably cooler than elsewhere in the city. And drive north along the Niagara Parkway toward Niagara-on-the-Lake if time allows. The route follows the river through attractive landscapes and historic sites.

This beautiful mural boasts a rainbow of color along the building on 1st St in Niagara Falls, featuring a pattern of hearts and the phrase "Let's Fall In Love." This is probably his best mural yet. I love the gorgeous array of soft color and how the entire thing spans half way down the block. I brought my dog here to take pictures for her instagram (is that not the most millennial sentence ever?) and it's so big that you could take photos in multiple spots and get a good variety of different background. This mural is only a few blocks from Niagara Falls State Park, so definitely worth checking out!
