My daughter is a college student & was not feeling well. I received a call from her asking me to pick her up & take her home (1 hour away). Her PCP in an hour away & that was our only choice. When I picked her up she told me about AFC Urgent Care on Stafford St. She told me numerous kids at her college dorm go there & that "AFC Urgent " is really nice. I called AFC & spoke to a young lady name "Betty". I explained my situation & she was more than happy to help. Betty took the time to listen & helped me. My daughter & I decided to go to AFC based on my interaction with Betty on the phone . When we arrived , We were met by " Betty" & she was very pleasant & very helpful. I cannot say enough good things about my visit. AFC Urgent is very fortunate to have Betty represent them. As I was waiting for my daughter I noticed that Betty was super nice to all the patients coming in. Thank you Betty & AFC Urgent for helping us. read more

Outside of the receptionists and on-staff physicians, the rest of the staff are nothing but rude, snobby, uncaring jerks who would rather see someone soil themselves due to gastrointestinal distress in the name of over strictly "following the rules" than help and provide actual care (which SHOULD be the hallmark and core focus of an urgent care medical facility). They also will subsequently spread libelous and slanderous mistruths about said patient to the care-requesting party for no logical reason or gain. Do yourself a favor and go literally ANYWHERE else than this unfortunately sad excuse for a healthcare establishment. read more

When I finally got into an exam room, the experience was fine. I made an appointment at 8 AM for 10:40 AM the same day. I arrived at 10:20 and DID NOT get into an exam room until 11:55. The wait was ridiculous for someone with an appointment and I understand things happen but that really sucked. Was out of the appointment in about 30 minutes, but the wait of over 90 minutes to get in really soured me on the whole experience. read more

Fast and friendly as can be! Definitely coming back for all my future urgent care needs and would recommend this AFC to anyone in and around Worcester. read more

I came here to get a rapid COVID test and was told they don't take my insurance, even though they do. I have the Empire plan from NY, which is United Healthcare insurance, yet the woman at the front desk, Betty, refused to take my insurance and was unable to give me an itemized receipt. I had to pay $150 to get my test, even though UHC covers COVID tests and this office is a certified provider, and I called them while I was in the office to confirm. Betty told me I had to call the billing office to get a refund, but the office only has a voicemail box, no hold mechanism. I had to call 8 times to get a representative so that I could get a refund and a receipt. This was a colossal waste of time ESPECIALLY considering they should have just taken my insurance. Additionally, I would like to mention that they did my COVID test in the hallway and sent me back into the waiting room to wait for my results, whereas other patients with insurance are given their own rooms. I also overheard Betty tell a patient that if they paid $150 for the COVID test now she could give it to them right away, otherwise they would have to wait 1.5 hours. Very weird read more

The sign on your wall says "payments self-pay, co-pay, & deductible are due at time of service" so can someone explain to me why I had to give my card number and am being told I'll know how much I have to pay in about a week? And my account will be charged regardless of amount automatically?? I've never heard of this in my entire life and I've sought care in multiple different states, at multiple different facilities throughout my lifetime. So I'm just supposed to deal with an X amount coming out of my account at any given time and I have no say in it?? We all know these visits are incredibly expensive, but welcome to the American healthcare system. What a literal joke. read more

The NP, Rebecca, was helpful with my sprained knee in late June. However, Craig, the other NP, diagnosed me with cellulitis on 7/4. Ten days later, I had this awful rash all over. When I went back to the urgent care center, I was told it was merely a fungal infection. Upon asking about Lyme disease, I was told my rashes don't match typical Lyme (I basically had to ask for a blood test). It wasn't until AFTER the nurse was unable to take my blood and sent me to an outside one (with the first one I visited on Park Avenue being permanently closed) did I have to go to my GP and get some answers. Guess what? I have Lyme. The tests also came in today and I've apparently yet to hear from the urgent care center. My GP's office had to call the lab and get the results themselves. Oh, and they also messed up my doctor's fax number when I asked for my medical records to be sent over. Go somewhere else. read more

I should've went with an in person appointment with my primary. They will never answer their phone, their mail box is always full. The email is fake or not working. I was told I'd be called about lab tests that would be "pretty quick"...never called and it's been two weeks. So glad they don't answer the phone when I check in too! Yay! read more

They shouldn't even get one star. REFUSED to see me because I was deaf. Never got my treatment after waiting 2 hours so decided to walk out both doctors were unprofessional. Going fill my report. read more

Went here for a mandatory Covid test after I went on vacation in RI. If I was going to get Covid anywhere it was here. Amazing these people don't get tested for Covid when they have people coming in nonstop for tests. Shouldn't they be tested more than anyone? Shouldn't they be getting tested more than someone who goes to another state? Also they told us they take care of kids too (as does their sign out front) but that too was a lie. AFC Urgent Care Worcester - By children they mean 18+ - Urgent Care Near Me - Worcester, Massachusetts

Dr Corpuz and the staff were professional and courteous and wait time to see the physician was minimal. Dr. Corpuz was very thorough in his assessment and explained the reasoning behind his diagnosis and treatment. It was refreshing to be greeted by smiling faces and treated as a fellow human being, which is rare in other medical settings. read more

I'm not big on reviews, but this location just opened up and they did mention that they would appreciate it so here goes nothing. I went there about a month ago for a fractured wrist. I went on a Sunday and there was one other patient there the whole time that I was there (that I noticed). I called and asked if I should make an appointment, and they told me I should just walk in. I was seen and helped immediately. They were able to take xrays and give me a splint on-site. Every staff member I interacted with was very kind and helpful, by the time I left we were joking around like old friends. I believe I went on Sunday 1/17, so those working that day should get a bonus! I was in and out in about an hour, and that includes the xrays, doctor consultation, and getting a splint and sling. The doctor I met with explained exactly what kind of fracture I had very thoroughly and specifically. I'm the type of person who likes to get all of that information, so I really appreciated him taking his time and giving me all the details. He showed me each xray and explained what we were looking at and where the fracture was. I didn't even have any questions to ask, he did such a good job explaining that he really covered everything. I followed the doctor's advice and followed up with an orthopedic specialist, and when I went to that appointment several different medical professionals said, "Wow, where did you get that?" when they saw my splint. Apparently, it's a very high-quality splint that even UMass Medical doesn't have! My treatment at this AFC was definitely one of the best urgent care experiences I've had so far... and I go to urgent care more than I care to admit, haha. I will definitely go back any time I have need of an urgent care. Hopefully that won't be for awhile! read more

Last Friday I went to readymed in Shrewsbury. My total time there was about 2 and a half hours for absolutely nothing. I have asthma and had an awful cough. They gave me a small dose of prednisone and sent me on my way. Told me that I would need to follow up if I wasn't feeling better in about three days. Well here it is, Friday and I'm still sick, my primary care doctor was completely booked full so I found this place with it being so close to my work. I am amazed with the care I received here. Not only did I feel like the nurses and doctors listened with understanding to everything I had to say, but they actually cared. They even sent me on my way with new tubes for my nebulizer! I would recommend this urgent care to absolutely anyone, they are fantastic here. They treat their patients with care while being understanding and genuinely nice. Also! I was in and out within 45 minutes. 5 stars! read more

My daughter had a terrible experience here. She got sick while away at college with a high fever and flu-like symptoms, bad headache and an irregular heartbeat. She went to this AFC because health services at her school was closed and after evaluation, her school's rapid response team told her she needed to go immediately to an urgent care or the ER. Choosing AFC turned out to be a big mistake. First, they would not let her friend who had brought my daughter there accompany her into the exam room. She had wanted a friend with her who could better listen and remember instructions (her fever at this point was 102.3 and her headache pain was bad). Second, they would not give me any information over the pone despite my daughter having had completed and signed a HIPPA authorization for release of information to me. The woman who answered the phone would not even check her file to see if that form had been signed nor would she give my daughter a blank form. She was extremely rude and acted annoyed that I was even asking questions. Third, they did not do any testing or real exam of my daughter. No strep culture, no labwork to test for mono, nothing. They took her blood pressure and temperature, that's it. The whole visit was less than 10 minutes. My daughter returned to her dorm where her fever rose to 103 (possibly higher) and her condition worsened to the point where she was unresponsive and couldn't answer the simple questions her friend and roommate tried to ask her. I called and spoke with a supervisor the next day who pulled my daughter's file and saw that the reason they stopped the exam was because they decided pretty quickly that my daughter needed to go the ER. Unfortunately, this was either not communicated to my daughter, or if it was, she was so "out of it" with fever and headache pain that she did not hear/understand. (They did not even bother to walk out into the waiting room to ask her friend if she could take her or otherwise see that she got to the ER.) The supervisor also explained that my daughter's friend should have definitely been allowed to accompany my daughter in the exam room. She also saw the properly completed HIPPA authorization form in my daughter's file and apologized that I was not given any information. She proceeded to give me all the information they had. The supervisor assured me she would be addressing these issues and everything that went wrong with my daughter's visit with the staff. She was very nice, expressed genuine concern for my daughter and was sincerely apologetic. Had this compassionate supervisor been present for my daughter's visit, I'm sure it would have gone very differently. Unfortunately she was not and the staff on duty that night were misinformed, extremely unhelpful, negligent and rude. read more

went for rapid COVID test and told that I had to pay 150 by Betty although insurance covers COVID testing. Was told that I had to come back the next day if I have to go through whereas if it is selfpay I could get it done right away. Did not give any explanation as to why the discriminatory treatment. read more

Please, please, please...if you can avoid going to St. Vincent's, then you should at all costs. My mother has been admitted several times over the last two years and each time has been more harrowing than the last. The hospital is FILTHY...carpets are stained, railings are full of dust & dirt. The food is inedible. It arrives in styrofoam containers, cold, and unrecognizable. One of my mother's problems is that she needs to gain weight but how can she do that if she cannot eat the food? My siblings and I have been bringing her outside food everyday. We should not have to do that. The nurses are wonderful but communication from doctors is subpar. We are constantly seeking them out so we can get our questions answered. Again, we have enough to worry about with my mother. We should not be chasing her doctors. Every time I leave the hospital, I feel dirty. It is honestly disgusting. Every other hospital I have ever been in is always pristine. What is going on at St. Vincent's??? read more

Abysmal. Was traveling for Thanksgiving, toddler developed an infection on his finger. Called, they said bring him in. After taking money, they said they don't usually see kids. After taking him in the back and doing vitals, the PA walks in and says he doesn't do kids. Says he can recommend an oral antibiotic, and we can wait to see what happens. The day before Thanksgiving. Went to ReadyMed on Shrewsbury St. Took 3 seconds for the doctor there to take care of the issue. A month later, get a bill in the mail for another $100 (after insurance/deductible), which they automatically charged to our credit card. After multiple phone calls and arguing, they agreed to refund $50. Ended up costing me about $90 for absolutely nothing. Horrendous business practices. Take your business elsewhere. Would give negative stars if possible. read more

While on vacation, I had to come here for an injury. Immediately, I was greeted by a smiling, friendly, bubbly girl (not sure of her name, but she had dark hair that was pulled back). She offered me bottled water and chocolate chip cookies while I filled out the paperwork. I was quickly taken back by the friendly medical assistant and shortly after taking my vitals and getting the details of my injury, Dr. Corpuz came in. He was kind, gentle, understanding, and made me feel like he was listening to everything I said. He explained everything in detail and sent my prescriptions to the CVS next door. Everyone was so pleasant, friendly, thorough, and understanding. My only complaint is that there is not an urgent care as great as this one in my hometown. read more

I went to this clinic on a Thursday morning for what turned out to be a fractured finger. The wait time was not long- but of course, waiting time can change with any walk in-clinic depending on the severity of other cases. I found the entire staff (reception, nurse, x-ray and MD) to be very professional and highly considerate. I followed up with orthopedic provider as they suggested and found that the MDs diagnosis was the same. The clinic called me on a Sunday (!) to follow up. They also provide bottled water and fresh baked chocolate cookies! read more
