I visited Hudson Urgent Care for pain in my knee due to a twist. The pain has been bothering me for 8-10 weeks even after treating it at home. I was seen right away by a very professional nurse & my vitals were taken & she inquired about the reason for my visit. The doctor sent me in for an X-ray prior to seeing me. Dr McDonald then explained he didn't see any major injury but after questioning me, was concerned about a possible blood clot. He then referred me to the ER to rule out this possibility of a blood clot & further suggested I see an orthopedist for the knee pain From beginning to end the care I received was thorough & professional. I went in for a test for either strep throat or a cold virus. After waiting for almost a half hour, I decided to leave because I had to get back to work to finish a huge project. Not everyone is fortunate to be able to call out sick. I asked them to email me my test results, since this was a binary case: either I have a bacterial infection or not. Well, unbeknownst to me, if you leave before seeing the doctor, they throw away your results. Even though I paid the copay and they billed my insurance. I guess they care more about hurt feelings than test results. It's the next day and I'm feeling better. I've had the flu over 10 times in my life, you take DayQuil/nyquil and wait it out ‍. I figured I was saving them time/effort by leaving. Next time I'll go to a MinuteClinic or someplace else. read more

Both my son and I were seen for a sore throat. My son ended up having strep, but not me. The triage nurse and doctor were very attentive, thorough and kind. I casually mentioned that I've had some subtle chest pains, and the doctor ordered an EKG immediately. It turned out fine, but I really appreciate that he took the time to listen and take me seriously. I can only imagine how busy and hectic the staff's day-to-day schedule is, yet the bedside manner is stellar. You guys are very appreciated! read more

My daughter fell off a scooter at the playground. I knew it was bad but it was also 4:30 on a Friday and spending 6+ hrs in the emergency room seemed unbearable! The office in Maynard was fast, clean, friendly and efficient. As new patients we were registered and in a room within 5 minutes. The back room is set up similar to an ER with the doctor/ nurses station in the middle and all the patients' rooms in a larger square surrounding it. X-Rays were taken right across the hall. The doctors were able to confer with our orthopedist and pediatrician. The staff was excellent! Friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend going here. read more

I received a pretty deep dog bite on evening and spent several hours waiting in the ER. Unfortunately, we were not even close to being seen by anyone other than triage who did take care of me and helped wrap my wound. After waiting a few hours to be seen by Dr. McDonald in Urgent Care, he didn't really know what to do with it. He was upset that I wasn't seen in a timely manner at the ER and wouldn't advise on how to keep it clean and protected going about my daily life as a teacher & actor who uses my hands for a lot of things including sewing, crafting, etc. He said that leaving it open with a steri-strip was the best course of action. We left with an antibiotic prescription and that's it. No extra steri-strip (it was falling off due to the location and state of the wound), and I had to practically beg for a piece of gauze because my wound was ACTIVELY LEAKING. He advised going to see a hand doctor... Will not return here. Other than the antibiotics, it was a waste of time. Front desk staff was friendly, the clinic was clean and the nurse I had was kind. read more

Told me to take Sudafed and use nasal spray to dry/clear fluid out of my ear. The whole time I had a severe ear infection that I ended up going to the hospital for and got oxycodone and antibiotic ear drops prescribed to me for how bad it was. Basically if they just knew what they were doing and diagnosed me with an ear infection from the get go I doubt this would've lasted for 2+ weeks like it has. Staff was nice but clearly don't know what they're doing if they can't spot something as simple as an ear infection. read more

Tried urgent care instead of an orthopedic doctors office for my injured knee and couldn't have been happier. 3 orthopedic doctors office told me 2-3 weeks before I could be seen and that I would need an X-ray before my visit. So I opted to try Emerson urgent care. Was able to make a reservation same day and the reservation was on time. The doctor came in said it wasn't necessary for an X-ray. He diagnosed my injury and came up with a game plan for recovery. Very pleased overall with my experience at this urgent care office read more

This is really a 4.5-star review, because I'm not 100% enthusiastic after multiple visits -- I've had some less-pleasant interactions with the front-desk staff, and on one memorable occasion, had to wait an hour in my car on a hot day -- but I have always been extremely pleased by the care I've received from the doctors and their teams at this location. Dr. Ring, whom I've seen multiple times, is especially wonderful: kind, reassuring, and very good at her job. My primary-care practice has, in the past, tried to steer me away from visiting Emerson Urgent Care at times they're open (though this location is much closer to my house), but today they were out of same-day appointments and actually encouraged me to call. Exceptionally disappointed in our experience this morning. I made an appt, arrived on time with 3 young kids and was told it would be 5 minutes for a strep test. An HOUR later we were told there was only one provider who was in a "minor procedure" so it would be several HOURS until our strep test was read. Absolutely unacceptable. Plus our Insurance was billed. We left with no prescription and without being seen. Highly don't recommend. read more

I've been here a few times, most recently last evening. The wait was long (almost 2 hours) BUT once seen, I was treated wonderfully by the doctor and nurses. Each time I've gone here, their advice and treatment has been appropriate for the situation. After reading some of the negative reviews and even listening to complaints yesterday, I wish more people understood that they triage patients and treat them based on emergent needs. It's tough to wait when you're not feeling well or wanting a test done but if more serious cases arise they will (and should!) be prioritized. I highly recommend Emerson and will continue to use them when the need arises. read more

it was my first time visit to Emerson Urgent Care & to the Hudson location. starting from the receptionist to the doctors were very respectful and kind. I was running late as it was raining & she assured me that it was fine which put me at ease. Doctors were respectful, patient & thorough. Asked a lot of questions and gave good next steps to follow. Very good service. Injured MCL over weekend and knew 2 trips would be necessary before seeing an orthopedist: one to primary physician and another to get an x-ray prior to orthopedic visit. Emerson urgent care took care of first two visits enabling me to get to orthopedic specialist efficiently. Doctor was knowledgeable and straightforward.
