I have a 1954 Kimball upright, which was purchased from a person who had kept it as an heirloom but never learned how to play (and consequently, didn't tune it for decades). I forgot to pull out cash, and the tuners can't accept Venmo or other credit card payments, but luckily, I was able to pay with a check. At the end of the appointment, the tuner scheduled me for a 6 month follow up reminder through Google Meet. Overall, really satisfied, and the amount I paid was less than I was originally quoted (about midway between the low and high end quote, since he had to do more than one pass of tuning).

He gave me honest answers and when he could've sold me on something, he said it was better to keep it because it would be more meaningful since he wouldn't pay full retail price for it.
