As laughter is the best medicine I thought I would come to a comedy show at the American Legion & was not disappointed. For $30 I got dinner and a show and the drinks were reasonably priced which is usually always the case for American Legions. The bartender was excellent And the veterans including the guys were funny and welcoming. This is not always the case for women veterans. I will definitely be back and I very much appreciate the collegiality and non-smoking establishment. They have a decent selection of wines, including Kendall Jackson Chardonnay if you ask. Make sure you bring your membership card like I didn't because you might get a free drink.

All in all, it needed a little ketchup, but was tasty. We also got a choice of tots, fries or slaw with the burger, which is nice to see (and no upcharges for either choice). All in all, for under $20, we had a nice evening meal and got to enjoy a live band. The crowd is older, but the place is lively and efficient on the right nights. Don't be intimidated -- you may need to seat yourself once you walk in, we were a little confused when we walked in, but as we sat down someone took our order and things were smooth from there on it. Bait and switch offer, marginal food in buffet for high price, Fitness Center Closed, no pool or hot tub, not even a continental breakfast you'd get at a sleazy hotel. The pool here is fantastic - I love those laps lanes like there is no tomorrow! And eating on the patio is probably my favorite summertime lunch experience! I have even, hold on to your clubs, golfed here once. Yes, it did intimidate me but it is a great course. (This coming from a duffer, or maybe not even that good of a golfer.) But all of these terrific experiences were eclipsed recently when I attended a wedding here. Wow is all I can say! Great food, amazing staff, fireworks and a loving couple made for a magical experience. Oh, and Oreos and milk at 9:30 were just perfect for me! I live 5 hours away, I will never have the money to join and if I did my membership would probably be voted down by any sane member of the board but I think this is the coolest country club ever!
