Good drinks and lively conversation. Great location with a nice parking lot. Will stop by when we are passing through.

Venue: We held the ceremony and cocktail hour outside and the reception indoors. Guests loved the deck and waterfront views. It was a bit windy at first, but the deck blocked most of it. Our 3:45 PM May ceremony was shady, so I wouldn't recommend fans or parasols for the main lawn. There's also another ceremony area beyond the trees that looked sunnier, we used that area to take family formals. We had 7 tables inside, but it definitely can fit at least 8, though a few tables must be broken down for the dance floor. We used that space for younger guests, which worked fine. One of the biggest perks was the in-house catering and many inclusions, which made planning much easier. Not having to coordinate multiple vendors kept everything streamlined. From our first tour, Crystal and Lisa were wonderful. Crystal was especially helpful and was basically our wedding planner/day of coordinator. On the wedding day, she and the team even helped set up our DIY décor, which we really appreciated. We brought everything from SF, and they were very accommodating. The venue also has great coastal décor that fit our theme perfectly. Food: The complimentary tasting was fun! Trying the food, drinks, and picking linens made it feel more real. We didn't love the passed appetizers served that day, so we chose different menu items. Guests especially liked the clam chowder, mahi mahi, pesto penne, and hibiscus margarita! The tri-tip was a bit tough, but likely because of us pushing dinner to start a bit later. We also added stationed appetizers for cocktail hour and late-night flatbread. I'd suggest placing the flatbread on the deck instead of near the dance floor so guests can enjoy it more easily. DJ: We loved how connected the deck and reception space felt--you could step outside for a drink, still hear the music, and easily return to the dance floor. We chose Mark Addington from the venue's approved DJ list, and he was fantastic. He kept everything running smoothly and brought great energy to the celebration. Culture & Entertainment: We wanted to include a tea ceremony and lion dancing, and Maverick's House made both easy. The upstairs bridal suite was a peaceful setting for our tea ceremony, and the outdoor space worked perfectly for the lion dance. We were the first couple to have lion dancing at the venue, and we appreciated being able to do that. We're so grateful we chose Maverick's House and couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our wedding!

Crystal Rose made the entire process seamless from our very first tasting through the final walkthrough -- she's organized, responsive, and clearly cares about making the day go smoothly. The entire team was so in tune with our needs and made the day extra special and fun. Could not recommend this venue and team more highly! We highly recommend going with the preferred vendors for Mavericks House - it was evident how familiar the vendors worked together to create the perfect day for us. Special shoutouts to Kelsey Currier (Coastside Wedding & Events), Mark Addington (DJ), and Julian Bergstein (Little Lightning Photo Booth)! Our wedding was in August, which could mean sunny skies (blue skies) or slightly overcast (coastal ethereal) - although it was slightly overcast on our wedding day, we were happy to have either forecast given how beautiful all the scenery was regardless. The deck at night in particular was incredibly underrated for how romantic it was, with marina lights reflecting off the water like a Van Gogh painting. One thing we were curious about was the table breakdown for the dance floor after dinner, but this was executed seamlessly by the incredible Mavericks House team, allowed our guests a chance to take a reset/break, and ended with all of our guests on the dance floor all night. The venue has so many fun pockets of relaxing indoors, outdoors, and on the lawn - everyone was able to mingle, rest, dance and overall have a wonderful time!

My husband…read moreand I were engaged in the beginning of May 2010 and got married in the end of October 2010 so there wasn't a ton of time to plan. I chose this location right away for the location (walking distance to the Marine Reserve for pictures), the price (within the range for comparable venues), the fact you can get married and have the reception in the same place, and because I was able to bring in all my own vendors. Sharon, the owner and the woman who is essentially the day-of coordinator, was an absolute joy to work with. She was always honest and straight forward with me and walked me through many of the preparations leading up to the wedding. We had to do some very last minute contingency planning for rain, but Sharon was there helping the entire way through. Even though we got a rainy day and didn't get to enjoy the full beauty of the venue, Sharon saved the day many times over for us and made using Cypress Meadows worth every penny. I will never forget standing with my father, ready to walk down the aisle, and waiting for Sharon to let us know when we were supposed to go, because after all, we'd never done the wedding thing before. Cypress Meadows gets my absolute highest recommendation. Brides will not be sorry using this venue and it would also be great for corporate events and more!

Sharon, was amazingly kind and wonderful in letting us take over the place and just decorate it with candy themed stuff. It was the perfect place for my party and I couldn't have imagined anything better. We had a themed brunch, taped the candy dots on the wall to make "lickable wallpaper", Sharon loaned us a tv and we had the movies playing in the background as the "Wonkavision" corner. It was just a blast! Afterward we were able to play cornhole, lawn bowling, wiffle balls in the back. It was the best birthday I could have ever imagined and I don't think it would have been as special if it was anywhere else!

They offered complementary wine in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Their breakfast was provided by nearby bakeries which was really nice to support/highlight local businesses! The hotel was clean, quiet, and staff were all very friendly. Even the interactions that we witnessed were all very helpful and pleasant. This hotel is walking distance to a few restaurants by utilizing the walking path along the water. The only negative about our stay was the temperature in the room. It was very warm (even in March) and since there is no air conditioning we were forced to keep the back door open and bugs were coming in from the crack of the screen door. Otherwise very pleasant stay and we'd come back.

Daily breakfast is included with your stay. The breakfast consists of pastries, bagels/ cream cheese, yogurt, oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs. They also offer gluten-free bread and pastry options, which I appreciate. Coffee, tea and juices included. There is no hot food. One thing to point out is the rooms do not have air-conditioning. This typically isn't an issue because half Moon Bay runs cooler and comfortable temperatures for most of the year but my husband and I do prefer a colder room at night time so we slept with the door open. There was no ceiling fan, but they do have a couple of portable fans stored in the closets for use. Shower in our room had low water pressure, so not great for those with longhair. The hotel is right next-door to Sam's chowder House so easy walk. Beach access-there is a beautiful walking path right downstairs, which you can access from the hotel. The only thing between the walking path and the ocean is some rocks. I was told by a local that the water directly in front of the hotel is not swimmable but there is beach access with some water about 5 minute walk down the path. The path is smooth so easy for strollers, bikes or other means.

I had booked our tee times well in advance, but there was a bit of a miscommunication on the books when we arrived, and the staff seemed surprised by our family check-in. Honestly, Nate was the absolute MVP of the day. Without him, our day would have been ruined. So, we truly appreciate him and we were so grateful that he went above and beyond to get us completely taken care of, ensuring our family was able to stick together and play/spectate as a group for the whole round. We timed the day perfectly, wrapping up on the 18th hole right around 8 PM. To cap off a great day, we had dinner at The Conservatory. The customer service there was top-notch, and the food was exceptional.
