Deciding to attend the kid's fishing derby wound up being quite the catch (wink). The pond was…read morestocked with walleye, and normally contains bass, blue gills, koi fish, etc. The rules were that the biggest fish caught by a kid wins the tournament. With the biggest fish caught (twice) being an 18" large mouth bass, needless to say those kids did not flounder (wink). If a fun, free day of fishing with your kids or grandkids isn't enticing enough, the Club also cooked up hot dogs, french fries and hamburgers, gave every kid a very generous door prize and awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers trophies. Not too bad for free, and these conditions will bring me back next year, hook, line and sinker (wink). No good fishing expedition could be that good without embellished fishing stories to boot, and my son got his first lesson here. Not only did he catch his first fish solo here years ago, but now he can claim the fame of the only kid to catch a 14.5 ft. Hammerhead Shark. Well, no, but when he really wanted to win the tournament, I told the judges he caught that fish and then winked at him with a smile. The judges had a good laugh, but later my son said to me, "Dad, do you think they believed you about me catching a shark". They don't have to, kid, every fisherman tells tall tales. Like the fish they pretend to catch, fisherman too often fall for the bait (wink).

We have traveled all over the east coast fossil hunting and this place has a stellar reputation for…read moregood reason. We were here in the fall which seemed ideal. It's a very large open area with dark gravel and I think would get super hot in the sun. Fossils were plentiful and easy to find which makes for a great day out for any ability or age. The highlight here is trilobites but there are many other sea creatures and the occasional squid like creature. Next to our spot were more serious hunters who were taking specimens for university and museum use. Definitely bring safety goggles, a hammer and something to split rocks. Rocks can and do fly up. Gloves are helpful too. It is a very large area so I don't think it would be hard to find a good spot even on a crowded day. We had a ton of fun and can't wait to go back.

I can't believe I had never heard of this place before! We took our 6-year-old and 15-month-old and…read moreboth had a blast. The staff were super helpful - we arrived along with two other families who had never been and one of the staff gave us a tour on our walk to the digging sites. They give you a little cheat sheet of fossils so you know what to look for, and the staff person stayed out with us almost the entire time helping folx to decipher fossil vs just a rock. We are headed home now with LOADS of fossils that my little aspiring paleontologist discovered. I'll admit mom and dad had fun searching for treasures and breaking apart the rocks was also very therapeutic! The toddler had fun walking over rock piles and digging in the dirt, so truly everyone left happy. We spent about an hour there and with the toddler I don't imagine we could've lasted much longer. We will definitely be back!

Then the video we got first off almost waited a year and a half to get.. and the words congratulations were spelled wrong.. I wanted unedited it was completely edited because he said I looked sick and I didn't want a video like that. Mind you the whole time never sick and I had great photos from another company. The videographer was trying to take a video of my brother changing like as in taking clothes off in the bathroom. THEN when we were there at the wedding we requested songs he refused. THEN when the party bus was supposed to pick us up at 10 they didn't get there until 1230 the place we were at closed so we had to wait outside then the driver was RUDE to us as if we inconvenienced him. I also asked david E to redo my video because it was horrible he said he couldnt because he didn't have time and the footage was lost anyways. Maybe if he wasn't hitting on my grandmother the whole time he could have done a better job. I would NEVER recommend his services for anything he was absolutely horrible.
