Great holiday event for everyone off all ages, if you have traditions,or some Christmas spirit, it's a great festive neighborhood to drive thru. Stony brook shines selects a local WNY charity to support each year. Support the community we live in and check it out. Thank you everyone that took the time out to make this tradition, my mom and I have checked out for the past 11 years...this year was in memory of her...we always loved checking out the festive displays, and themes.

Amazing Christmas lights display!!! I've never seen this many houses decorated in one neighborhood!

I guarantee nothing will get you in the holiday spirit more than a trip around this neighborhood to marvel at the gorgeous light displays. I even got greeted by Mr and Mrs Klaus and the grinch, complete with a candy cane treat! There can be a lot of traffic around the 9 streets that participate within the community , but it's well worth the wait to see all the houses all decked out for the holiday. I have paid a significant amount of money for light displays that have paled in comparison. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Stony Brook Shines for Others is a collective of homes in a Lancaster neighborhood that annually collaborates to decorate several streets for the holidays in conjunction with a non-profit fundraiser. This is a free event, but donations for a good cause are graciously accepted. The neighbors have been banding together for 12 years now, each year selecting a new cause to support. Lights stay on from Black Friday through January 1st. The Stoney Brook neighborhood truly does shine during this event! Almost every single house participates with some form of lights, with a few really going over the top! Not only are the houses sparkling, but the trees lining the streets are also lit up, as well as many streets have archways of lights over the sidewalks. If you start at the Stoney Brook entrance, you can weave your way through about a dozen streets of lights. Stony Brook really makes for a nice outing with the fam'. We grabbed some drive-thru hot beverages before heading over, cranked up the holiday jams when we got there, and just took it all in! It took us over a half-hour to meander through all the streets, and I'm not sure we even hit them all. It has become more popular over the years, so on busy nights, you may be in a line to get into then neighborhood. And cars may be moving in a long, slow line once you are in. But that's great! Take your time to enjoy all of the effort this neighborhood has put into their decorations for a very worthy cause. Thanks so much to the organizers of Stoney Brook Shines for Others for putting on this special, incredibly well-executed event each year--happy holidays to you all! :-D

She was greeted at our place with a limo to take us to the airport. We met our wish grantees there. It was the day before her birthday. They had reservations for her to have lunch with the Princesses. We made a photo book for Make a Wish with all of our pictures and they brought it to their fundraisers. We can't thank them enough. It all started in 2010, and since then the event has been extremely popular not only among local residents. The festival takes place in a park worth visiting not just for the festival itself. It's small, but well-maintained and compact, with the picturesque Glen Falls. It's a perfect place for a little stroll, or a getaway from the crowd. This year, 150 vendors participated in the event. I'm sure everyone could find something interesting for themselves. I got caught at two booths for a little longer than the others. The first was Enchanted Cottage Candles. Actually, it was a really popular spot. We all couldn't believe how perfect each candle looked, not to mention the scent, which was absolutely stunning. I also had to stop at Susie Byerley Fine Art Oil Painting from Southern Indiana. I hardly ever talk to vendors, but this time I just had to chat a little bit. Her extraordinary talent was impossible to miss. I'm sure many complimented her traditional representational art. I hope she managed to sell at least a few of her beautiful pieces. There weren't many food vendors, but I was happy to see Sunshine Vegan Eats. Anyway, Williamsville has plenty of restaurants, so don't worry. There's something for everyone.
