However, perhaps his most admired quality is not initiating nor engaging in the idle chatter so many hair stylists do to combat their Boredom or feed their egos. Kevin never loses focus. The other stylists: the younger newer Asian stylist does great job and is equally as focused. As for the rest: the other 40 something male and mature woman stylist should rather be categorized as pseudo-psychologists as their mouths move twice as quick as their hands - and usually delving into some controversial statement or probing question to their held-hostage chair victims. Bring earplugs to avoid being assaulted by their absolute mindless blather.

There is a $10 your first cut coupon on Connies website that is also offered. I live about 20 minutes away from Peapack but I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for a haircut! If you ever saw the TV Show Seinfeld, you may remember the episode with the Soup Nazi... that's Ghani. He cuts a mean head of hair but he doesn't tolerate B.S. A lot of people interpret this as bad customer service, or bad business that he doesn't give you with warm gushy feeling. I view this as a good thing good thing because he is always busy with a long wait, so it weeds out the people that just aren't his customers. If anything he does care about customer service and his reputation. He tried to grow bigger by adding another chair and another barber. But let him go... he said it was too hard to find someone as consistent as him and it was hurting his reputation. From time to time his wife will fill in for him. Ghani was closed for month on to go on vacation. I went to Sports Clips, I was done in 10 minutes. The haircut was fine but a week and a half later, I felt like I needed to get another haircut as it just didn't grow out too well. Ghani takes his time. 30 minutes when he's busy, Closer to 40 minutes when there's no one else is on line. He's meticulous. He's gets obsessed with perfection. As a result my haircuts go 5 weeks. He talks about weird stuff sometimes, but like my dad, he grew up in a communist country... so I kinda understand him and his worldview. Once again not for everyone. My suggestion: If you want a good haircut, without the filler of the corporate places, and the upsell of rebranded and overpriced hair product that you can find in any general merchandise store, go to Ghani. Tips: Ghani opens at 9:00am on most days but is usually running 15 minutes late. Get there at 8:55am, filter through your email, and you'll be the first in line and in the chair by 9:15ish. If there is someone in the chair, and two people waiting, it may be more than an hour wait... bring something you can work on, or headphones to catch up on Netflix. No WiFi, but you can connect to Optimum WiFi if you have an account.

Juan was amazing with my 5 year old (who couldn't sit still in the beginning). Juan always gave my son a great haircut and line up!! Overall: Since I always brought my two boys, together, I tried (in total); 6 barbers. Overall, only 1 barber was bad. Luckily, it didn't turn out terrible because the manager stepped in and fixed the haircut. The entire staff is always pleasant and polite. Juan was the barber who made us repeat customers until we moved out of state.
