Walk-in for a French manicure to my own nails. It has been 5 weeks and still as lovely as ever.

I gave the artist the photo to do my nails and he didn't follow it much and the webs were done…read morewrong. I paid $80 for something that didn't look like the photo and barely looked at the reference at all. I thought this was pretty simple.. first time getting my nails done...

Okay I normally don't do this but I'm doing it. Rant Alert…read more I went to Diamond Nails at 4:40pm, I was seated by 5pm and showed the nail tech a picture of what I wanted. See pic attached. He nodded and got to work. I thought it was odd that he did literally 1 coat of polish and sent me on my way. I got to my car and looked at my nails. They were completely see through, the hot pink polish that was previously on my nails was still on my nails and "coated" over. I also check their Facebook menu pricing, it said "full set with shellac polish, $40.00", I was charge $53.00 +tip. I walked back in and politely asked for a color change as I didn't not like the color provided and you could still see my old polish. They told me to take a seat and a lady came and got me. Instead of just using polish remover she complete shaved down my nails, re buffed them, and painted them the pink I had chosen. She proceeded to charge me $24.00 +tip for a color change. The owner/manager could tell I was not happy about this and handed me a $15.00 gift card, I went to use the gift card to pay for the polish change that should have been free since it wasn't done correctly the first time and the owner/manager proceeded to tell me I couldn't use the gift card until the next time I come. I'm screaming mad but am terrible at confrontation and don't want to "be a Karen". Ladies, learn from my mistake. Do NOT go to Diamond Nails in Waterloo. I have gotten my nails done for years and I have never paid almost $100.00 for a full set with pink polish (no designs). Okay rant over, thanks for listening.

I got an acrylic full set with pink polish and glitter. I asked for a pink and white set with…read moreglitter, photos included. The store was clean to untrained eyes, but the seat I was placed in clearly hadn't been cleaned since the last client. The manicurist was nice but either untrained or just didn't care. My nails are uneven, bumpy, and there are spots that don't have any polish on them, and just not what I asked for. She also cut a few of my fingers with the electric file which still hurts. I would not recommend this business and will not be going back.

I have been going to Fancy Nails since moving back to town 3 years ago. I have recommended plenty…read moreof people and purchased gift certificates, etc. They know my name and I have always had good experiences- other than the owner rushing and nicking my cuticles- literally every finger until they just hardened up and it was something I began to expect. I have always noticed their loyalty "star" rewards to be odd. Sometimes it's 7 stars other times it's 4 for the exact same service. Once you earn 100 stars you get a free pedicure. I have earned 2 free pedicures since my first visit and attempted to use one today. I was shocked at my checkout price of $73. I had a new set on real nails and my pedicure. I was nickel and dimed for gel ($15) and nail removal ($6.75). In my first free pedicure I had gel polish and was not charged the $15. The nail removal is still something I'm not sure why I was charged for as they were my real nails and I have NEVER been charged this when getting a new set as it's always included in the $50.xx price of the new set. Its the same owner who rings you up each visit so again, they have no rhyme or reason to their charges. All this was after I was sat in the pedicure chair, feet in the water, and told they would actually be doing my nails first. I moved to the nail chair and they wrapped my nails in foil to remove the old SNS gel and was told go sit BACK in the pedicure chair. I requested no lotion and no massage- this isn't about trying to pay less for them doing less. To preface, it was not busy at the time I visited AND I had an appointment. I went back and forth with the person filing my nails a few times on length- I wanted to go short. Then I picked a color I usually go with (as in every other visit I get this same color so I had an expectation of what it would look like) and it was orangey rather than a beige- it looked like the color had separated on the brush and up towards the cap even after her shaking it multiple times. I TIPPED $20 CASH FOR HER TIME SHORTENING MY NAILS AND GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH THE COLOR- mind you, I kept the color too so it wasn't even something that had to be removed/had more time spent and honestly the shortening wasn't out of process so that shouldn't have been an inconvenience either. I have no qualms with the woman who did my service- I have always appreciated the time she takes to shape my nails nicely as opposed to the owner who again, rushes, cuts my cuticles, and leaves bubbles when doing the clear coat... I tipped prior to going up to the front to pay because I'm never sure if they share the whole amount with the person doing the service. Come time to pay I questioned the price but got tired of him gaslighting me and paid. I was then given 9 stars. I have NEVER been given 9 stars even when paying for nails and pedicure in the past. It was as if he knew he did something sketchy. I won't be back and told everyone I've referred to steer clear. Goes to show even having loyalty and thinking you have mutual respect from a business means nothing.
