I will say this place is efficient but this is by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was cut twice and bleeding on my clothes so when I asked her for something to put on it she told me to wait and that she had to do that because me nails were small. I'm a pretty tall chick so my hands match that. All of my nails are lopsided and my French tips look like French Suggestions. I'm honestly really disappointed. Guilted me into paying when I hated what they did to my nails, on top of that, when I complained about how my nails looked nothing like I wanted they got super defensive and were mean and rude. Came in for two full sets of gel nails. My daughter was given normal polish due to having three colors done. We both wear our nails longer with a ballerina shape. Well neither one of us got the length, shape or color we asked for. I have never been more disappointed in our nails. The women were friendly and tried to give us what we asked for but it didn't happen. When I went back in to ask for the correct color I wanted I was told I had to pay for it. I wanted black because the original color I asked for was clumpy. When walking outside the color was a blue. When paying $130 for two full sets you expect to get what you ask for. I also paid for gel for my daughter and found out they used regular polish. The nail color was chipping the next day and the white was not white within hours. NOT HAPPY read more

I love Diva Nails! Clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. I drive to Waterloo from Waverly to go here because I love the staff and no matter how busy they are, I almost always get helped right away when I walk-in. They never argue with me about what I want to get (I don't know why some salons always do that) but I like light/natural colors and in other salons they always try to make me get darker colors or upsell a design etc. Diva Nails always caters to what I want. They have a wide color selection for dip. One time the dip was a little thicker than I wanted, but they worked extra hard on the shape and thickness until my nails were perfect and just how I wanted them!!! I love this place and will continue to make the drive to Waterloo to go here. Highly recommended. read more

Been getting my nails done here since September. I usually get my nails "dipped". I've only had one time when they weren't even but otherwise I have been very happy. My set can last for more than 3 weeks and not have a single chip in them, I only need to get a full because my nails have grown out so much. culI forgot to wear a mask and got yelled at by an employee to put one on. I went out to my car, retrieved a mask, put it on and re-entered the salon. During my facial wax, the same employee was constantly making phone calls and leaving to attend to customers who were entering. This employee was very rough when pressing the cloth onto the wax and then while applying the solution/powder to soothe my burning face, pressed really hard causing me more pain. When I went to pay she kept asking me if I was paying cash. When I told her no, she said it would be an extra $ 2.45 to pay by debit. I did pay by debit because I had no cash on me and wasn't going to make an extra trip somewhere to get cash. To add salt to the wound so to speak, there were several customers waiting and NONE of them had masks on and no one was telling them to put one one. I was a regular customer and every time I came in to get my nails done they would end up making me bleed. The last time I came in, which is today, I entered the salon with one other person and there were two people in front of us. It appeared as if it wouldn't be too long. Everyone who came in after me was directed to come back in and hour and or that they were over booked. Soon the three women in front of me were being taken care off. I sat for an hour as many people came back as they were directed and said they had an appointment. I was continuously put to the back of the line. One couple who can in shortly after I do were told to come back and when they did they were taken ahead of me like they had an appointment. There was a woman who came in 40 minutes after me and was told she'd have to wait an hour. An older lady came up to me and said all of these people have appointments and it's going to be a very long time. She said that twice and suggested I leave after sitting there for an hour and never told I was going to have to wait 2 hours. I am very disappointed, I usually liked this place. I feel very disrespected and will spend my money elsewhere. read more

This is possibly the nicest nail salon we've visited ever! Five of the women in our family had a girls day and each of us had a very positive experience. From the moment we arrived until we departed, the staff made us feel welcome and pampered. Three had manis and pedis, and two had pedis only. My mother-in-law had her first pedicure at 87 and really enjoyed herself. The cleanliness and sanitized tools as well as clean odor were impressive. Complimentary wine upon seating was lovely. Terrible customer service. I came to visit my family out here in Waterloo and decided to take my cousin for her first mani/pedi. Luckily her technician did a good job on her nails. Mine however was completely unfriendly, stunk like cigarettes, and even answered his cell phone during my pedicure. It was so unprofessional!! I complained to the guy who checked me out and all he could say was "okay." He had one chance to redeem the salon by apologizing, but did he? No! In fact he seemed bothered that I was complaining to him. How rude! There are so many salons to choose from, so customer service is number one in my books. Wow! Don't be fooled by the pretty lights and decor! It's like putting lipstick on a pig if my experience today is of the norm. They were very rude because I wanted my acrylics taken off. I was asked 3 more times if I wanted new tips or shellac after I plainly stated that I live out of town and it's just too much maintenance. The guy(I would say technician but that would mean he had gone to school and was licensed)that was taking them off burnt me three times with the file and gave me dirty looks for saying hot, hot, ow! As I pulled my hand back. Then he brought out a bowl of acetone in a bowl of what I can only assume was boiling water because it actually hurt. FYI I'm a former barista and not a stranger to hot liquids. Then he told me I'd have to sit there for 20 minutes and walked away. Seriously it's not time for your break when you have a customer. The prices were reasonable and the guy staffed at the door was very helpful and nice. However my service was average. I felt rushed and my nail tech wasn't very friendly or chatty. I wouldn't say this about all of the staff though just a few of them as I had a mani and pedi by two people & though it was some what busy for a Sunday the two techs I had didn't seem like they wanted to be there/friendly. Some of the other staff were very chatty & nice with their clients. My mani was okay I was very rushed & had no conversation and I basically could have painted my own nails better as they were left streaky. I had the worst experience from this place. I came here on a Saturday couple weeks ago for a pedi and shellac. The tech who worked on me was very rude nad unfriendly. There was no attempt to strike a conversation whatsoever. Nobody offered me anything to drink. The pedicure was done in like 10 minutes and my shellac color did not come out right. I got my nails done here because it was open on a Sunday. I got in right away. My nail tech made a comment about my ring when I first arrived and then did not speak to me the rest of the time except to ask a couple brief questions about my preferences. They did nothing to trim cuticles or rough skin which was a large part of the reason I went. From the day they were done, my acrylics came nowhere near the cuticle and looked like they need to be filled. The edges were high making them look obviously fake and poorly done. The polish had bubbles, and she nearly applied a top coat over only one application of a translucent polish. I had to stop her to ask for another coat. The polish didn't reach the edges and was uneven. I asked for a simple design on two nails - a small black heart. One was mishapen and not completely filled in. The other turned into a triangle blob twice the size of the first with streaks trailing out. You would think they would re-do it or not charge me, but I paid extra for the design. I was offered a drink about halfway through the process. I wasn't carded for wine and probably should have been. I was told my total was "$33 plus tax." Apparently tax is an even $2 putting me at $35, and I would be charged an additional $3 for using my debit card... totalling $38 for the worst manicure I've ever had. I was encouraged to use the ATM and charged $34 in the end. It all seemed a little shady. Overall, the experience was unpleasant. I repainted my nails when I got home, and I'm getting them filled or redone today... 3 days later. read more

I went there for the deluxe pedicure and was told that if i pay cash i will get a discount. So I use their ATM machine that has a sign on it that says "No surcharge" and low and behold I have a $2.50 charge on my bank statement. Oh and they gouge you on the decorations for the nails. I had line drawn on 2 toes and that cost me $5. My niece did the kids special and the woman that painted her nails did a crappy job. They just don't do quality work there. read more

Never again will I return to Diva Nails in Waterloo, IA. I had the worst nail experience ever. When I got there it seemed alright, I was with two other girlfriends. I was seated first and I was getting the shellac, with design... I wasn't offered anything to drink and the lady helping me didn't talk to me at all... Okay so whatever she didn't talk to me, but the guy sitting next to me working on my friends nails leans over and asks me if I smoke weed?! What?! I said no and just looked away, then when the lady doing my nails gets to the design park, I tell her I want Chervon, which is like a zig-zag, she still doesn't know so I showed her a picture and she start working on them. When she gets finished I look at them and there two Squiggly lines ..... It doesn't look anything like it should but I just think to myself whatever maybe she won't charge me for this shitty design.. (a 3 year old could have done better..) so I go up to pay and it rings up to be $35 ! I never got a message or anything, the tools she used where rusty, and she clipped down the side of the nails and it got infected, never will I ever go back there again! The worst part is after I left I took off my shellac on the two nails where she had done the design because it was so bad! And I paid 7$ for two nail designs??? Please learn from my experience and choose another place.. read more
