Mrs. Zella checked me in and did my vitals, and she was so fun to talk to. :) The phlebotomist, Mrs. Emily, is absolutely precious, and so is the supervisor, Mr. Willie! I highly recommend donating here. Your contribution can help save a life, and there's no greater reward than that!

My arm has been badly bruised and even my finger tip was bruised and sore from being pricked so hard. Yesterday when I donated, she noticed the blood wasn't filling up, then after 2 other ladies who worked here came over to see what the problem was and assist, one of them discovered that the phlebotomist had not opened the clip completely and the blood wasn't flowing through the tube. This was after they pushed the needle up further and turned my arm around and applied pressure, etc. Once the tube was opened completely it filled up quickly, but then I still waited while my phlebotomist had to go assist someone with another patient before removing the needle from my arm. I will not be donating again for awhile, as I have left work to come donate and the experience has been uncomfortable. I have large veins too. Today my arm is bruised and sore to bend. Seems unnecessary.

I am Writing this review because, the operation at 3835 North brook Dr, Jackson, MS 39206., CSL…read morePlasma Donation Center, really operates unlike any other Plasma center I've ever donated at. The machines are not operational, in the same way. Its hard to explain, but there are certain windows that I avoid going to because I get denied there every time. I witness known crackheads and wine-o's donate there all the time. But if you question anything there, then you all of a sudden have issues donating. I am questioning this because, My blood pressure was 134 over 88 with a pulse of 101 this morning, and I was denied donating 1/18/2019. Donating in Illinois, this would not have been a problem, and I believe it is to the discretion of the health professional taking your blood pressure, temp, etc. I believe this business should be investigated as to why certain people are turned away while others who do not ask questions are given access to donate, almost every time. I will be very detailed. I have only donated since July. The staff is very polite and the inside of…read morethe building is very clean. This staff seems to always be ready to greet customers, even those who are not so friendly. However, when asked to give a review on google , it's a bit difficult because if you don't have an account, you will have to create a new one, not a big deal to some, but it's too much for me to have so many accounts. (just for a free candy bar) Although we are all there for the same reason (to help cure/save lives and to make extra money) I feel some returning donors are there for a place to hang out. I feel there should be a "line" for fast givers that want to get in and out, that normally give fast. This would be a great incentive to the rest of us that feel the same. If a donor is in there longer than 1.5-2 hours (that normally is a fast donor), that's entirley too long! That's just not good business and makes it hard to return the next time. So instead of the fees (which we all love to be more) why not make changes with the process? Speed it up! or how about during the giving process, actually have management conduct an interview with each donor to see just what brings them in? This staff works their ass off ( I rarely see management on the floor ) . Also they shoud hire more people to help in my opinion. As far as the TV & music, each to their own, we all like different things, you will never cure that issue. BUT, if you are going to have the TV on, how about something healthy for the mind and soul to take in? Not criminal minds or some horror movie, again, this goes back to management. I hope this review actually gets read by the staff. Thank you , Amber S.

Me and me lady came here today to donate Plasma for the second time. Essentially, you get…read morecompensated 50 dollars the first five times you donated if it is in a 30 day period. Good cause and it doesn't hurt to get paid, eh? Donating itself usually takes 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on different variables such as how your veins are. (Obviously, if you used to shoot up drugs, then it'll take longer) The first time we went to get signed up, the process took about three hours plus the donation itself. Medical questionnaire, video you have to watch, and a short physical. Should that process of taken so long? No. Why? Because they were apparently "training new nurses". I could literally hear them talking in the closed exam room and they were just BSing around. Considering how I was sitting there for 30 minutes alone on them, I wasn't happy. Then, my super hero came in. I waved down a nurse. I can't think of her name now, but she's a shorter black woman with blonde in her hair. One of the sweetest ladies I've ever met! She apologized for me having to wait for so long, got me into the other exam room, and was done with it within five minutes. Shout out to the younger phlebotomist who did my first donation. I think can't of his name either (See how bad I am with names?), but he's probably early 20's, white, average height, with a very goofy personality. Being my first time, he explained to me how the entire process worked, what to expect, etc. Both times I've gone to donate this, I've overheard him do the same for every new person. I don't think I can say the same for any other worker there. Another shout out to the lead nurse lady (can't think of her actual title nor name), she was very helpful as well with my sign up process. Finally, not a big deal, but one of their employees literally had a grill in his mouth while working. Not a complaint, as so much more kind of funny. Don't they have a dress code? Haha. I suppose my overall experience wasn't awful. If all of their employees were as nice and fun as the three I just mentioned, then this place would of gotten 4 or 5 stars. Sadly, you have people that are just rude. It happens! Anyway, if you're looking to do some good and need some extra gas money, this is certainly a good way to do so. (For those of you that don't know, plasma is the liquid in your blood that essentially holds the blood cells, it's used in every day medicine, emergencies and surgical medicine to treat stuff like Burns, shock, major surgery, animal bites, etc.) It can take as many as 130 plasma donations to manufacture enough therapy for just ONE patient. I believe this is the only one in the area, so consider checking it out! :)
